  1. When I walked it there were areas where it was open to the sides and some of the was on rough terrain. I am talking approx 5 years ago so be prepared. Don’t let me put you off at all. The views are stunning and well worth a visit even if you dont get to the top.
  2. Seems like the time has come where they are now more concerned with listening to the business and tourist “experts” than the medical ones. The current data supports this “Risk” and the opening up once the vaccination targets are met which will happen in some areas next month, others by year end imo. Those who wish to minimise their risk further can choose to avoid packed places shopping malls, markets and carrying on socially distancing as they choose.
  3. So Dinosaurs are not extinct after all. Who would have thought.
  4. Totally agree with your view, but it does beg the question why you have such a bigoted ass.hole as a friend. Also, not sure you would tolerate it from a younger person. As for the negativity, if the foreigners were half as miserable as they seem on some of these forums then I feel for their partners/kids. Must be a horrible environment to live in. I think your friend is coming to the wrong country with his views.
  5. I was replying to a comment made to my previous post regarding the 3 deaths in Phuket yesterday.
  6. Agreed, because the chances of that happening are extremely rare.
  7. I stand corrected, although I can see that getting dropped. Gonna be a busy couple of weeks vaccinating by the look of things.
  8. Details of the 3 deaths : “The deaths were all over 60 years old and the youngest was a 61 year old man fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca though he suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The other two deaths were unvaccinated: an 81 year old man with high blood pressure, heart disease, and lung cancer, and an 86 year old female living in a high-infection area with renal failure.” https://thethaiger.com/news/phuket/3-deaths-and-2-sandbox-covid-19-infections-today-in-phuket
  9. You “think” it “might” Feel free to post the chart to show the “different story”
  10. It’s a bit of a misleading headline to say “Let’s open the country to tourists - come hell or high water” when both links state it’s when 70% of the residents are expected to have been fully vaccinated. From the second link: “According to the minister, more than 70 per cent of Bangkok’s population have already received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine but only 37 per cent have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. The remaining 33 per cent should have been given their second dose by early October, he added.”
  11. Latest worldometer ranking table for death rates/million of population including yesterday’s data : https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Thailand currently sitting at 125th in the world, 28th in Asia.
  12. Guess that’s where the “learn to live with it” kicks in as there are more announcements almost daily and seems it will be prior to reaching those targets.
  13. Sound advice which sadly not everyone follows. Avoid busy areas at peak times, such as trains, markets, malls where you may struggle to keep socially distant, especially if you are not fully vaccinated.
  14. Latest vaccination numbers show almost 40% now received their first jab and a over 18% fully vaccinated. Still on schedule to meet the 70% fully vaccinated target in December. https://covidvax.live/en/location/tha
  15. Your reply was in response to a post that said included: “What BS, do you really think a retired 70-year old taxi driver that comes here and marries a peasant girl half his age should get citizenship? “ Can they clarify what you saying, as this could be seen as quite offensive to those that are now married to ladies from that background.
  16. For some the immigration office can be a couple of hours away and if then get turned away on a technicality can build up frustration. I guess that is why many turn to “helpers”
  17. Thanks for sharing. Always good to see a different perspective.
  18. 6 months in Thailand and 6 months in their home country seems to be achievable for many and ticks most of the boxes.
