I don't understand much of what is written above but I have Line on my phone and my desktop and they can both see the same things, in fact, when I log in via my desk top version my phone gets a message telling that's happened and occasionally asking me to verify and authenticate the session. As for QR codes.....I've never used them.

It does seem like those predictions have come true though .
Pattaya has been in decline since its heyday in the 1980's/90's
A decline over 40 years, how exactly do you measure that? The earlier poster suggested it had been forecast three years ago, another now suggests it has been in decline since the Vietnam war ended, everyone seems to be willing Pattaya to decline and justify the current headlines.
Chinese don't do bars, Pattaya is a bar city, no wonder the bar owners are crying, Oh well.
Once again, posters don't seem to understand Thailands ability to reinvent itself, when one country stops sending tourists, another comes along, (except they may not all be bar hounds), we've seen these things repeatedly over the years!

whomever is confused about this, given the photo, likely thinks those painted lines on streets are for decoration
As a design concept the black and white stripes they paint on the road in some places works for me.

The privately run BoE and the unregulated CoL are independent of government and do what they like. They do however pull the strings when they think they need to.
The CoL is the biggest financial centre in the world and it will be business as usual after Brexit. Only a revolution or J Corbyn can bring it to order.
Let's get out from under the jack-boot of this European monstrosity. Elect a Labour government, put the 'great' back into the 'Great Britain' award.
A less painful and more sensible future might involve feeding one's self into a meat grinder!

How many Thais fill in a tax return?
The minimum income threshold for being required to file a tax return shall be revised as follows:
i. For a taxpayer who has only employment income:
- if single, and income exceeds 100,000 baht (previously, 50,000 baht); and
- if having a spouse, and the sum of the taxpayer’s and spouse’s income exceeds 200,000 baht (previously, 100,000 baht).
ii. For a taxpayer who has employment income and other income, or who has only other income that is not employment income:
- if single, and income exceeds 60,000 baht (previously, 30,000 baht); and
- if having a spouse, and the sum of the taxpayer’s and spouse’s income exceeds 120,000 baht (previously, 60,000 baht).
iii. An undistributed estate must file a tax return if its income exceeds 60,000 baht (previously, 30,000 baht).
iv. A non-juristic partnership or a non-juristic body of persons must file a tax return if its income exceeds 60,000 baht (previously, 30,000 baht).
6. This proposal would apply to the tax year 2017 onwards.
Thus, based on the proposal above, if you are an employee and your monthly salary is 25,833 baht or less, assuming that you do not receive other taxable income during the year (such as a bonus or other fringe benefits), you will not have to pay personal income tax.

This was forcasted 3 years ago on the internet, no one believed it would happen, now this number 1 family city is empty, the bar owners etc. etc are really worried, I can see a lot of them crashing if it stays this way much longer.
If I had a dime for every time I've read those words on TVF over the past 15 years I could retire to Cap Ferrat!

CM is a s-hole because of the smoke and immigration. Pattaya because of the tourists. Pattaya has better food and shopping so that decides it for me.
A good choice for us, the more tourists stay away, the better the place becomes, it's a win win scenario.

So then, from bad beach to no beach.
There are a couple of beaches next to reservoirs in Chiang Mai which have most of the attributes of a beach apart from salt water. A better option for us however is somewhere like Mountain Float which is a series of buildings on rafts that float out in the middle of the expansive Mae Ngud reservoir, a great place to go and eat and relax for the day when the weather is hot.

It's disheartening to see how yet again the Brexiteers have capitalised on yet another piece of analysis by The Treasury and are quoting just one of the many scenarios that appear in their report, the pro-Brexit newspapers have seized this firmly and are trying to portray Carney as pro-Remain....if in doubt, read the report, I have.
The facts are the Bank has done its job properly, it has created projections on a series of "what if" scenario's and has said what will happen in each case. For whatever self-serving reason the Brexiteer brigade has seized on the worst case option, exactly why they haven't promoted the best case options is truly a mystery because rather than promote their preferred solution they've chosen to attack, yet again, the alternate solution! I quote Mark Carney who says: He said: "These are scenarios, not forecasts. They illustrate what could happen, not necessarily what is most likely to happen." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/11/28/mark-carney-accused-project-hysteria-bleak-no-deal-analysis/ (The Telegraph incidentally is a pro-Brexit newspaper).

Analysts suggest that the results were "too good" for government interests, in that it states British banks would have no problems dealing with a hard Brexit. They, the government, needed more doom to pressure lawmakers to support May's deal.
This is simply more evidence, that the Bank of England long since ceased to be independent and is in lockstep with government interests.
You bought the fake news propaganda line, or were you promoting it, shame on you!
The results of the stress test and the associated report are here: https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/-/media/boe/files/financial-stability-report/2018/november-2018.pdf

Can't imagine anyone entering a second time.
I went to take a look today, the bakery stuff is all shipped in from Central Festival which is disappointing, otherwise, it's just another same old same old supermarket with no advantage over Rimping that I could see.

Many, many airlines operate that policy. They quote a minimum fare which is all some need to pay (ie no luggage), and fees are added for bags, choosing a seat etc. Emirates do, and the budget airlines do. It's common policy.
I'd be interested to know who you booked with as an alternative, and how competitive the fare was with the (hidden, rather up-front) add-ons included.Prior to that flight I had always booked my flights online from Thailand using Momomdo and I'd never run into that scenario before, even my outbound flight in July was booked (from Thailand) that way with Thai and it was a straight forward booking with no add ons - Ethihad, Thai. and Emirate flights previously, booked online from Thailand were all without add-ons. So it came as a shock to book my first flight from within the UK to fly LHR/BKK and to experience flight costs that I thought were ridiculously high, plus all the add ons - one way on BA was quoted at £1,400, seven weeks in advance and using an independent agent, round trip was much better at £710 which was £600 plus $45 each way for baggage....as it turns out I bought that flight return because my wife was booked on it although I didn't really want to buy a return.

The abbreviation is in fact Math since it is not plural."
Boys, boys.... okay Brits, Aussies and some other members of commonwealth say "maths". Americans say "math" (I'm a yank). If math/s is shortening of mathematics, should have that "s". Perhaps "plural" because their are various sorts of "maths": +,-, trig, etc rather than seeing it as one big tent containing it all. Excuse me, but my sheeps are calling.
Is it possible to study a mathematic!

Some posters need to decide what they really want.....too many Chinese tourists, get rid of them........not enough tourists, tourism is dead....which is it!

All i can say is the thai banks charges are very expensive for the merchants. When i inquired with bangkok bank and they wanted 100,000 deposit and 5%.
Many retailers in Thailand used to routinely charge an additional 3% for paying by credit card, it was pretty much the norm for a long time as they tried to recoup bank fees.

Extreme Brexit could be worse than financial crisis for UK: BoE

I'm afraid the idea of Corbyn leading the country terrifies me, he has neither the agenda/manifesto, the people nor the policies to do so without bankrupting the nation, I mean, that's what Labour is good at and God knows they've had ample practice. Have you seen his ideas on nationalising the water and energy companies and revitalising social care, plus his idea of heavily taxing business and industry, why not just invite every Plc and entrepreneur to simply leave, it's the same thing....those may all separately be worthwhile things to aspire to but they are very bad things to announce if you want to try and get elected, especially at the same time, that in itself says the man and the party have no real strategy other than aspiration. Then we have Abbot, for the love of god, and then we have giving away Trident and any nuclear capability, why not just invite Putin to take us over and instal a communist head of state and make us a gulag for the mainland.
