No problem at crossings to Laos but some crossing to Cambodia will insist you stay overnight since that is a requirement for a visa on arrival.
Thank you.

Generally speaking couple of weeks prior is the norm.
If you applied just prior to Aug 25 it would be approx 3 weeks prior.
All you can do is try.
Border runs possible now so that's an option if no covid extension is given
What's the situation with Cambodia/Laos border runs?can you come straight back in or is a 1 night stay needed?

Do the thousands who live here on retirement visas without meeting the financial requirements fall into the abusing the system category????Or is it just for people who do visa runs?

Way before Covid... I did BKK to Chiang Mai... Overnight sleeping berth... ac car... squat hole in the floor for a toilet... prepackaged bkfasts in the kitchen car...
The thing is, they have to change the rail gauges somewhere along the way... and what was supposed to be simple, took hours... (aka sun up, before we were on our way again)... Banging all night while they were making repairs... Impossible to sleep...
Will say, glad to have experienced Thai railways at their peak efficiency... ;P... Never again... Flew back to BKK...
... cant wait for their engineless Chinese highspeed trains... Probably be waiting forever...
Should of splashed the cash and got the newer train.cant hear a thing on them, wouldn't even know that they there moving.

My journey to Surat Thani from Hua Hin in overnight executive class was not an experience I would repeat again. I skipped my return and flew to Bangkok and took a taxi back to hua Hin.
Why what was the problem with the overnight train?

It is not decided and/or published yet if the CE will continue.
The immigration offices are not informed yet about what will happen with the CE.
Looks like they were right.

The private hospital crime.
Sorry no beds available for you poor Thai people. Go wait at the gov't hospital and hope you don't die first.
I think these hospitals who turn away Thai people because they can not afford their exorbitant prices are helping to ruin this country. I don't believe they have no beds. Only no beds for the poor. It's a disgusting situation.
You seemed to have made up the part that it was private hospitals turning them away.

they went for the booze not for the meaningless football game 555
2 of the biggest clubs in world football come to play in Thailand.people get to see the teams and players they support in real life instead of Just on TV. Maybe meaningless to you, but not to others.

Hah. A lot of your "younger outlook on life" types are on Twitter. Aside from posting pictures of their bottles of beer, which seems to be their main activity, you should read the complaints. They complain about the people sitting next to them, roads being wet when it rains, their work--they really hate their work and let everyone know. Collectively, they're the most miserable people I've ever seen in Thailand.
That's definitely a false claim.

Sure, I not a genius. But my opinion is that anyone coming to Thailand, during the Northern summer, is either an idiot, some weirdo or plain masochist.
But your here in Thailand, so does that mean that your a weirdo or an Idiot?
