  1. Can you be blacklisted by the Ministry of Education MOE from getting a work permit to work as a teacher if the previous teaching job you had, you didn't have a Non B visa or a work permit?

My last job I was working for an agency and did not have a Non B or a work permit, I fell out with them and am concerned they may try to have me blacklisted with the MOE. This happened to me once before when I had a disagreement with the owners of the school I was working at. I left the school by mutual agreement then they blacklisted me with the MOE behind my back, which I had no knowledge of until I got a new job and that school applied for a work permit for me. My new school contacted the old one wanting to know why I had been blacklisted, then they backed down and withdrew it from the MOE.

If anyone knows anything on this subject I'd appreciate hearing about it

    Thanks Maca

Page one of a house book does not have a photo on it. It is normally needed since that is the page that shows the address on it.

I have a copy of page 1.I have a copy of the following page that show's my wife's name at the top and her address at the bottom, but there is no photo with that page.Is there another page that I need?

  3. Original and a copy of your marriage certificate.

Copies of your wfes house book registry (page 1 and the page she is shown on) and ID card signed by her (date not required).

    Photos are 3.5 X 4.5 cm.

    ..................................................................................................................................................................................

Is a copy of the photo page on the blue card(house book registry) a new thing? As I've got a Non O spouse visa twice now from Savannakhet before and never had to show it

  4. I am going to the Thai consulate in Savannakhet at the end of the month and just want to check I'm taking all the necessary documents. Original marriage certificate, my passport, photocopy of my passport photo page, photocopy of my wife's ID card and blue card (signed and dated by her, dated 1st June this year), 5,000THB visa fee and completed visa application form with two passport size photos attached.

Can anyone tell me if these are the only required documents?

  5. I have recently left the school where I was working and my work permit will be cancelled at the end of this month. I am currently in Greece and will be back in Thailand at the end of the month so I will be on a 30 day tourist visa when I arrive. Does anyone know if the cancellation of my work permit will affect the 30 day tourist visa in anyway?

    Thanks Maca

  6. I have a Non O marriage visa from the Thai consulate in Savannkhet Laos which expires on the 20th May. I know if I leave Thailand at the end of April I will get another 3 months from the time I re enter, but I will be leaving again on the 27th April then returning after the 20th May. Does this mean my visa has expired or will immigration give me the extra time from the previous stamp in my passport I received?

    Thanks Maca

  7. I'm leaving for Savannakhet on Sunday to get a new Non O spouse visa, so just to double check the documents I need. Original marriage certificate plus photocopies of, my passport (plus copies), copies of my wifes Thai ID card and blue book house registry(do these have to be signed and dated by her?) and the 5000THB application fee. And no need for a copy of my wifes passport?

    Thanks Maca

  8.  I will be going to the Thai consulate next month in Savannakhet to get another Non O spouse visa. Does anyone know if the same documents are required to make the application ie- original marriage certificate, my passport (and copies of both),  signed copy of my wife's passport, 1 signed and dated copy of my wife’s Blue Book, 1 signed and dated copy of my wife’s ID card and the 5000THB fee?

    Thanks Maca

In general the companies that want to keep your WP and allow you no access to it are the ones that try to push you into an extension rather than using your own visa.

Funnily enough that's exactly what this school does, I asked at the interview and they said you have to sign a release form to 'borrow' your work permit. As I haven't signed the contract yet and have contested their claim that I have to give up my Non O for Non B I would imagine they are now looking for someone else to hire. Which considering the unprofessional way they operate is probably no loss

  10. To settle the matter the school went to the immigration office in Samut Prakan and asked there without contacting the Ministry of Labour in any way. It was immigration who said  you can only get a work permit through a Non B not a Non O and as pointed out earlier immigration have nothing to do with the issuing of work permits. So either immigration have the wrong information or the school is lying which is plausible as the HR woman in charge of visas and WP already told me she got a WP for a teacher with a Non O spouse visa.
