Biden and Trump have been held to the same standard....the difference is Biden fairs way better at least attempting to reach that standard than Donald Trump could have ever hoped to do. And what is the tough question that you think Trump was asked so unfairly that Biden has not been asked? And why doesn't that beacon of truth Fox News ask that question for you....perhaps you should get Sean Hannity on the phone and tell him to do his job....

Why is it a clown show just because the outcome was predictable? It does not mean the trial should not have happened. More than half the senate voted to convict him, only Republicans voted to acquit him and not all of them at that. Trump was impeached while he was still in office therefore a trial needed to happen. There has to be a line drawn and consequences (in this case facing a trial in the senate) so future presidents know that the last 8 weeks of their term if they are not getting another term, are not a free for all and a free pass for bad actions. There has to be a line that is drawn and that line WAS drawn, no matter what the outcome was.

Where was the need for healing back in October when a Supreme Court Justice was being rammed through the system for the Republicans less than a month before the 2020 election when 4 years earlier a nomination by the Democrats was left stranded and to die on the vine by Mitch McConnell after 10 months with the excuse that the American people should decide the nomination with the presidential election? ***THAT*** is the type of action that stokes the fire of division...

I could not agree more....COVID drew back the curtain on Trump and exposed him as unable to meet the moment when he needed to be able to unite groups and coordinate efforts instead of divide people and have tweet tantrums, to have success. The Trump Covid response shows what a horrible President The Self Proclaimed Stable Genius actually was...up to and including his behavior being directly responsible for The White House becoming a flag ship and a hot spot for corona 19 infections...it is now coming out that he was basically hours away from being put on a ventilator himself...

(Reuters) - A U.S. voting machine company filed a $1.3 billion lawsuit against former President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani, accusing him of defamation in what it called his "big lie" campaign about widespread fraud in the presidential election, court documents on Monday showed.

 

The Denver-based company, Dominion Voting Systems Inc, filed an earlier lawsuit against pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, whom the company also accused of spreading false conspiracy theories about the election that Trump lost to Democrat Joe Biden.

 

A senior Dominion employee, Eric Coomer, also filed a defamation lawsuit against the Trump campaign, saying he had been driven into hiding because of death threats from Trump supporters.

 

Giuliani said in a statement that Dominion's lawsuit was intended to intimidate others from exercising their free speech rights.

Trump and his allies spent two months denying his election defeat, and claiming without evidence that it was the result of widespread voter fraud, before his supporters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6.

 

Dominion is seeking $1.3 billion in damages from the former New York City mayor, alleging in the lawsuit that "he and his allies manufactured and disseminated the 'Big Lie,' which foreseeably went viral and deceived millions of people into believing that Dominion had stolen their votes and fixed the election."

 

Dominion said it filed the lawsuit "to set the record straight" and to "stand up for itself, its employees, and the electoral process."

 

A group of prominent attorneys last week asked New York’s judiciary to suspend Giuliani's law license because he made false claims in post-election lawsuits and for urging Trump’s supporters to engage in “trial by combat” shortly before they stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

 

Dominion states in its lawsuit that it has spent $565,000 on private security to protect its employees, who are facing harassment and death threats.

 

“Giuliani’s statements,” the lawsuit stated, “were calculated to — and did in fact — provoke outrage and cause Dominion enormous harm.”

 

Founded in 2002, Dominion is a major U.S. manufacturer of voting machines, and various Dominion machines were used in more than two dozen states during the 2020 election.

Engage huh...you mean like ask them nicely, with a tone of compassion and sympathy,  "Why did you march down to and ransack The Capital while the election that Dear President lost was being certified? Why did you wave the Confederate Flag inside the People's House, weilding zip tie restraints, steal politicians notebooks, erect a gallows, chant "Hang Mike Pence" (you know, the VPOTUS at the time....yeah that guy)", attack police officers that you spent a whole summer claiming you support?

Oh and by the way, since we are being "engaging" and we certainly don't want to hurt your tender feelings or offend your delicate sensibilities anymore...the guy you worship so much who called that mob to assemble, incited them with a call to insurrection, gave them their marching orders and then sent them off to stop the certification of an election that HE LOST and have "Trial By Combat"? Well hell, that's all Ok....since he only had two weeks left in office....lets just let him go and let bygones be bygones....because even though he divided the country every chance he got for five years and all of you ate it up that division with a spoon everyday...now that you are on the losing side and the balance of power has shifted....NOW you think it is time for "healing". 

No...THE RIGHT THING TO DO...now is for reckoning, justice, consequences and atonement...and when that is done....either by Trump being convicted by the Senate or by Trump walking away...this is going down...so future Presidents at least think twice before they decide that insurrection and sedition are the way to keep and wield power in the United States.

The same Alan Dershowitz who came up with this brilliant argument during Trump's FIRST Impeachment: 

"Every public official that I know believes that his election is in the public interest," he said. "And if a president does something which he believes will help him get elected in the public interest, that cannot be the kind of quid pro quo that results in impeachment." 

The author of that hot mess does not exactly have the credibility you seem to assign to him...in my opinion.

"Real Americans" know the law and the fact that Trump was already impeached while he was still in office (for a second time by the way.....a record....so much for making American great again) and now they are going to trial in the Senate to decide if he should be convicted...I love how some people think they speak for "Real Americans"...
