So publicly they are saying they will punish anyone who excercises freedom of speech, there is no right to a POV, there's no right to complain....

Only the right of the regime to demand impunity and take down anyone that threatens it...

    Missunderstanding here !!!

They can have their POV. But to participate in some kind of riot, that doesn't please the police...... The police wants to punish for the participation and not for having a POV.

I am in a similar situation to you, but think the house, car & assets will automatically go to her two grown up children, who have promised that I can live in 'their' house and drive 'their' car until I die.

What if they change their minds ?? I'd make a plan B, if I were you....

  3. There is no unpopular places for the US military. US military were and still are (I think) in the poor desert country called Somalia. Whats the difference ? US military has interest in each inch on the earth. And the size of the interest might be huge or small, urgent or can wait...... And so was Afganistan and Irak....As in the African continent like Siera Leone, Congo.......

  4. I, personally, don't think Taliban took over the control of the country against USA will. I believe, as USA knows well that Taliban still soke the power, they just allowed them that for some secret deals. Don't forget that Afganistan is close to Russia. Afganistan might become "an ally" against Russia, as before, or China...... I don't know, but certainly their takeover coudn't happen without USA's knowledge, will......

So to the actual subject, For Indonesian groups, there's no way that USA, or Australia for that matter would allow them to take over........

  5. This guy was has never worked as traffic policeman......He definitely worked only with drug and weapon barons in Thailand.......

It seems that many people here are surprised to get this kind of news. I was NOT at all. You see, when you visit any society and you remark that there are too many commiting crimes, breaking the laws and it's quite then there is one and only explanation : There are Some Joes in that society and it can't be one Joe but Some Big Joes and some small joes. Cause this is a team work....

What made God fathers rich and powerfull in USA, they dominated in many states, their economies florished. They wouldn't reach all that if there weren't TOO many Joes around......

Police are part of the society, they know, see and hear whatever the rest of the society does know, hear and see.....so......

Yes, except for Phuket where you will do the Sandbox.

I want to visit only BKK and Patts. No sandbox far from those 2 cities. As I said I prefere AQ and gain my freedom after than sandbox. Cause I don't want to get stuck in Phuket/Samui....

I only wonder if AQ will be for 14 or 10 days, if jabbed....

  7. My plan is a 3 month trip to Pattaya. As unvaccinated I will spend the first 2 weeks  in AQ  before moving to a condo which I already booked for 2.5 months.

I will not be travelling around in LoS, except to BKK if it's allowed...

The reason of this thread is that I worry if they will send back from the airport or if I have to leave Thailand after the quarantine.....

Er the link appears to be 2017 pre covid. I assume. I need paperwork. I know I do not need a work permit. I assume I will have to take a driving test. My question is: what will the driving test entail? Is there no way round it?

The rules are still the same.

The same papers  are still required.

Certificate of residence from the immigration
    Certificate from a Doctor
    Your passport and UK DL
You'll spend 5/6 hours at the station :

You will have to watch some videos (Theory)

you'll take a reflexe test, if you make it, you'll take a theory test in english, if positive you'll take driving test and then you'll sit and wait to get your DL.

    Here you go

    Listen mate:

I read that first post, seems NOT correct.

    Getting DL  is so simple.

You start with paying a visit to the Immigration police, you'll get certificate of residence. You must have your passport and the certificate from your landlord/hotel that show how long you stay in your paid accommodation. In my case I had a certificate from KtK regent suites that I shew to the immig. that I paid for 5 weeks stay......

All the copies and photos you can take them in the station..... No work permit needed. I was on my 30 days VE in LoS.

When you get your certificate residence you go the land department early in the morning and you'll get an appointment for the tests.......

Heres the report I posted about my experience:

  10. I used to rent a Shadow 750cc from beach road in Pattaya. The owner is a great man. Very Honest !!! It's a person I trust 100%. He got many different bikes from the small 50cc to 1100cc. The rent is very cheap. I rented the same MC 7 times. 2-5 weeks. The first time, only 5 days with a 4000 Bath deposit. After that never paid a deposit. Once, he left the bike for me at the hotel a day before my arrival to LoS as he had to travel to Isaan the day I'd arrive. It was trust between us.

But I've to mention, I never bargained, and always gave 1000 Bath tip each time.....

His name is Kaew His number 0813324610. He's got Line....

Believe me, try him, You won't regret it.

6 - left Thailand mid August

7 - re-entered Thailand 2 days later, same landing visa

8 - got visa extension to stay until mid October

9 - left to Cambodia get another 2 months, sadly, was denied.

You pushed your luck toooo far !

It's like you were wishing for this natural consequence !

  12. The reason is that I will apply for a METV for the first time and I start to worry now how it'll go.

I hope you guys can provide some info.

I've been in LoS about 19 times before. Always on visa exempt. I got visa extension twice, only. 17 times were between 1-4 week trips.

Last time was in November last year. This will be the first time this year. But I planed a long stay.

    My plan is :

    - 2 months in Pattaya. Booked a condo and paid for 1 month. The landlord said I could pay when I check in.

    - 18 days in the Philippines, return ticket BKK-Manila already paid. Hotels already paid in Manila & Cebu.

    - Return to LoS, have booked the same condo for these 2 months

I have my return ticket home from BKK right after these 2 months

to sum up: 2 months in LoS + 20 days out to Phil + 2 months in LoS.

               20th of November 2019 -  17th of April 2020

In my 1 year old passport I got only 2 stamps from LoS (3 weeks in Augus 2018 + 2 weeks in November 2018)

How does this sound??? Any chance to be refused ???? and I especially worry about the RE-entry in February.

Is it better to have a SETV and apply for an other in Phil. ??

instead of a METV from home

I had a plan to buy a MC in Pattaya for my upcoming trips, but it seems like a very bad idea!!!

  13. I was hopping that the OP could provide some details about his history to know the real reason why he was denied but it seems that he left the house.
