if it's any consolation, the wording stood out to me immediately as well.  i did not assume any bias on the part of the writer, but rather an attempt at not repeating the same phrase in one sentence.

of course following your logic, "americans who want to re-elect trump" are not necessarily trump supporters, but were like me in the last election "not her, anybody but her!" voters choosing the least despicable of the two viable offerings.

I am sure that it was quite unintentional.  I agree that voting has always been only one of two options.  That is one reason why I never voted and am basically nonpolitical.  But, everything I've seen the last 4 years especially this year has convinced me that a vote against any form of socialism, anarchy, or by whatever they want to call it is my only option and mainly dependant on SSA for my stay in Thailand as a big factor.  That and the egregious hatred abound.  The statement just instantly struck me as hilarious concidering the way things are going politically.  Not saying I never kept myself unaware of politics, I just never cared.  But America is in dire straits.  I have family and friends in America that all see things the right way so therefore go I.

If you read it that way you're reading something that was said nor implied.

Maybe I just see the humor of what's supposed to be a news report using two different phrases for whats should be direct comparisons.   But I agree that Trump supporters are Americans which is what the report does not say about Biden supporters.  A hilarious report item.  You don't have to laugh if you don't want to.

  3. "The survey, conducted from Oct. 13-20, shows 43% of Biden supporters would not accept a Trump victory, while 41% of Americans who want to re-elect Trump would not accept a win by Biden".

What I read from this is the inference, intentional or not, that Biden supporters are not Americans but specifically "Americans who want to re-elect Trump" are.  Made my day.  How did they let this slip by?

That is included in the paperwork.

This whole mess about the want to open back up ASAP to the preferred tourist country reminds me of a few years ago back when I had the need to go to the embassy in the capital for an income affidavit, thankfully we have had no reason to fly back to the capital since.  My wife and I saw a man on the sidewalk with his legs crossed sitting on a piece of stained cardboard.  He had a hat and dark sunglasses on with a boom box beside him playing awful sounding distorted music at full blast.  A basket with a single10 baht sat in front of him and a bag with a brown bottle sat on the other side.  He was actually looking at a magazine while rocking back and forth mumbling to himself, hopefully looking for a very unlikely basket full of coin.  Everyone walking by was giving the man a wide berth.

I saw the movie, and didn't mind it. I like Millie Bobby Brown, and her character was fun energetic, and not without flaws. And let's face it, it's a much better take than trying to reboot the actual Sherlock as a woman. Sherlock himself was still the socially awkward genius.... but showing how that awkwardness had affected his relationship with his sister was completely inline with his character. Mycroft on the other hand, was just an stereotypical Victorian <deleted>. Not much depth there, but served his purpose. Overall I enjoyed the story, but the ending felt a little rushed.

Thanks for the review.  You nailed it.  I enjoyed the movie.

I have been searching for what seems an eternity to buy one that is programmable. I find lots on line for sale in America, and U.K. However, all the models I see here are either too small, or, as on Lazada of a poor quality and basic design.....

I found a good one at Makro, dark brown color.  Thick clay pot and lid.  Slow cook my spaghetti sauce, taco/buritto sauces, Texas chili and beans, Sloppy Joe sauce, pot roast, vegetable soup, chicken, vegetables, etc...  Rotary switch selections- off, low, medium, auto.  I check/stir every hour until it starts to boil then every 20-30 minutes to keep it from sticking to the bottom.  Then finally set to low or off to let it sit.  I cook my meat and sauces in a skillet until I get a good blend and slight boil then in the slow cooker it goes.  My wife just went to buy ground pork, I'm choosing Mexican for this time.  Tacos and burrittos.  Always enough left over for the fridge, large tupperware, then wave or convection oven servings for warming.  Regretfully, my doctor took me off Thai food - MSG, salt, sugar, soy/fish sauce, fry foods but thankfully Thai spicey and garlic is ok.

defunding police, which is what the poster said, does not have the same definition. Perhaps a better way to say it is re allocation.

Best you do more than a quick search.

That's your social definition.  Try this: to withdraw financial support from, especially as an instrument of legislative control: Many university programs were defunded by the recent government cutbacks. to deplete the financial resources of: The cost of the lawsuit defunded the company's operating budget.

The law requires you to transfer the land.

    Yes

No the land office will never put a foreigner on the land ownership document

FWIW chanote is only 1 of the many ownership documents.

A widow is a woman not a man.
The Usufruct is on the land not the house, though the land document may be listed.

The only way a foreigner can be a temporary owner of land is via death and inheritance. The maximum ownership period by a foreigner is set to 1 year and YES by law you are required to sell/transfer withIn the year, it makes no difference if you were married or not.
No your name is never on the ownership document as owner.

The transfer of ownership has no effect on the Usufruct

A widow can be a man or women when the words widow or widower is used as a verb.

So, there are now some details about just how the Trump administration went about gutting the CDC.  Under Obama the CDC had an office in Beijing with 47 staffers.  Trump cut it to 14.

Separately, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the global relief program which had a role in helping China monitor and respond to outbreaks, also shut their Beijing offices on Trump’s watch. Before the closures, each office was staffed by a U.S. official. In addition, the U.S. Department of Agriculture(USDA) transferred out of China in 2018 the manager of an animal disease monitoring program.

    Read it and weep.

Tipicaly left out from the link.  Selective copy and paste to meet your rederict.  Also add:

“There are many factors that go into decisions around staffing,” the CDC said in a statement.

Some health experts were skeptical that more CDC employees operating inside China would have made a difference in stemming the outbreak. Beijing has been widely criticized for silencing its own public health officials who warned of a deadly new respiratory disease emanating from the Chinese city of Wuhan and surrounding Hubei province.

“The problem was China, not that we didn’t have CDC people in China,” said Scott McNabb, a former CDC epidemiologist who is now a research professor with Emory University. He pointed to China’s censorship as the main culprit in the spread of the pandemic, which has infected at least 435,470 people worldwide, killed 19,598 and upended the global economy.

Looks like Netflix has joined the newest "me too" movement. Why not just call it the "Black Entertainment" category? Why BLM? Because that's the popular political move right now. I have no problem with a black entertainment category and would definitely watch certain things it had to offer, would just prefer entertainment and politics be kept separate

Netflix already has one.  This is a political statement by the Obamas.

Quite true.  Citing the absolute number of deaths is quite misleading, since they have to be scaled by size.  The statistic for that purpose is deaths per million as we can see below.  The US compares quite badly, having the seventh highest Covid death rate and still climbing.  Note the absence of any Asian country among these conspicuous failures.  Asian countries have about 1% of the death rate of the Western countries.

But below 6 European countries.  So not #1 as suggested in some comments.  So we should trust all of the Asian numbers?  They wouldn't hide anything at all.

"5G" refers to the 5th Generation of cellular technology, not to the frequency of operation.  Most recently produced WiFi routers have a 2.4GHz band and a 5.0GHz band and it's common that the router will be set up such that the SSID corresponding to the 5.0GHz band is named such that it has a suffix of "_5G".  However the 5GHz band on a WiFi router has nothing to do with 5G.  AFIAK AIS's 5G is operating on the 2.6GHz band, which Thailand had previously reserved for some other purpose.  The article at the link below shows a listing of all of the frequency bands that 5G can operate on.  There are a lot of them, and different countries and different carriers have chosen different ones.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5G_NR_frequency_bands

Thanks for your explanation.  It led me to where I needed to go for more information and clarity.  I never worked in the cellular field but I have been in electronics from the tube/transistor/CD crossover eras.  We did not call 2 such different things by the same name.  So all of this 5G Fiber being promoted so hard is just marketing BS riding on the back of the real 5G cellular standard.  5G WIFI is faster but a lot of people are being duped and think they have 5G.  I see it's being done the same way full blast in many countries.  I'm not going to tell my Thai and US families that they don't have 5G.  They were all so happy but many did upgrade to fiber just to get 5G (WIFI).  Again, thanks for the heads up.

Are you sure that your Note 4 and Samsung TV are connecting to 5G rather than to 5GHz WiFi?

Yes, 5G WIFI on both.  So now 5G is not 5G?  Didn't someone ask about phones being able to connect to 5G.  I have 5G Fiber coming into the house.  Do I somehow connect my phone to fiber?  Sorry, I've been out of the field for quite a few years.  Can you give me technical details of the difference and why 5G is not 5G?

  14. My wife does not use her phone to sign in.  If asked, she says (in Thai), old phone no reader.  If they tell her she can use Line she says old phone old Line.  We go directly to sign in but now she motions me away and says (in english) no no I take care, you no take care.  The staff just look up at me standing aside smiling.  She just signs herself in and the same for signing out.  Works for me.  Usually, after the temp check and hand sanitizer the staff just motion people towards the sign in.  Most walk past the code anyway and very few use it.  But we are upcountry in Isaan across the river from Vientiane.  My wife refuses to buy a new phone or even an SD card.  No WIFI service and just borrows my WIFI if there's none available.  Very frugal except for when it comes to me.

Hey - you voted them in !

"no person may participate in a gathering which takes place in a public or private place indoors and consists of two or more persons."

No "sex snitch" hotline number to call if you suspect that a "gathering of 2 or more persons" may be taking place in your neighbour's bedroom ?

So no more than one person at a time inside of any shop or tube station or elevator or office ? Cops can't put 2 suspects in the same jail cell ?

Are trains, planes and automobiles considered "public or private" places ? I guess pubs will have to shut down as well as they won't be allowed to have any customers ! 1 bartender and 1 customer would be a "gathering of 2 or more persons in a public place indoors" after all !

Not too late to flay back to "Jolly Olde England" and enjoy the solitude ! (So long as you are the only person on the place that is.)

The new "sexsnitch" hotline number is 6969
