  1. Has anyone actually done a 90 day check in online since they got a retirement visa extension since this 800,000K nonsense became an issue ? I don't renew my Visa under the new system until next year, but when I checked in in May online, there was nothing stating that they needed to see Bankbooks etc, and I seriously doubt they have the capacity or the wherewithal to change the App. I suspect if you check in online, that that requirement slips under the table (no pun intended).

Correct me if I am wrong.

And by the way there is the third option of removing the middleman and DIY with regards to the extension.

    Chinese?

    From Hong Kong by chance?

PRC Chinese would have to apply for visa on arrival in Suvarnabhumi and get 15 days.

Holders of Hong Kong passport get 30 day visa exempt (just stamped in).

And that is what it looks to me.

Yes she is from Hong Kong. Now can she extend for thirty days more ? and if so how nd where ?

  3. Take note of the comment about being told to go to the ATM and give them the slip of your account balance on the day you are trying to extend. I saw a couple of comments on here about that the night before I went to the Domo to extend my retirement visa and I had already obtained the letter from the bank earlier that day. So better to be safe than sorry I went back to the bank the next morning on the way to the domo and got another letter. When I handed Immigration the papers I deliberately put in the letter with the previous days date to see what would happen and they said it has to be dated today. I said “oh sorry wrong letter” and handed them the right letter . I think it very much comes down to who does the checking and if it’s the right time of the month but nevertheless.

  4. A Chinese friend of mine is here on a thirty day Visa. I have attached a pic of the visa because I can’t figure out what kind of visa it is. She wants to get an extension to the visa. Does anyone know if this kind of visa can be extended in Thailand or does she have to leave and re-enter. She is in Udon and the nearest point of exit and re-entry is Laos. She wants to stay for another thirty days.? Also are there an implications because she is Chinese if she needs to take to exit/re-entry option if that is an option. 6cf27440-baa7-49d5-a0a0-722426dfcb4c.jpg

  5. Just thought I would post a final update on this.

I walked into the Pattaya Immigration Office at about 9.00am on the 17th (technically one day over the seven day grace period)

I got my queue number, waited 2 minutes and got called over to the counter. An older (over 25 [emoji12]) female officer was sitting there and not looking very happy (who would having to deal with idiot farangs like me everyday).

Now before I sat down I said Suwadi Krub and then did the wei thing (and she did it back) and then I said good morning with a smile and I handed over my passport and the form.

Fifteen seconds later I was skipping out the door no questions asked and fine free.

So three possibilities here got me through.

    1. Maybe, as I did, she thought the 17th was the 7th day and I wasn’t over.

    2. They make up the rules as they see fit.

    3. it was the fact that I was very polite and devastatingly good looking. [emoji849]

Nevertheless I won’t make the same mistake twice.?

Only the first extension of stay application counts as a 90 day report.

A few offices do a report and put a new receipt in your passport when you apply for the extension.

That was my first Retirement Visa extension of stay but they didn't replace the paper in my passport. This was at the Pattaya Immigration Office.

By the way after reading all the horror stories about wait times to get the Retirement Visa and 12 Month Multi Entry renewed the entire process took about thirty minutes ( with a weekend in between for the Retirement Visa to be approved and stamped). I could not believe it and the place was packed as well.

  7. I made a small boo boo with the 90 day reporting dates. My reporting date should gave been the 10th of April. I just want to make sure that the seven day grace period is still in place. If it is then I have until the 17th of April to check in. The office is closed tomorrow the 16th of April. Can somebody please confirm this please ? And also what is the penalty if you miss the 90 day reporting date grace period ? I cant do this online once it passes the actual checkin date either. I tried.

  8. I pay a coupla baht outside 7 11 to get my body weight.

Ah but does it tell you your percentage of , muscle, visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, BMI, RMI and based on all of that what it considers your actual body age to be. ? When I started my body age was around 66, I am 62. I went on a meal replacement program diet and in three months I had lost 10 Kg’s my Visceral Fat dropped from 15% to 10% my BMI dropped from 29 to 22 and my estimated body age dropped from 66 to 54. Without the BodyComposition monitor I would not have had a clue about my body’s condition apart from looking at a fat bastard in the mirror every day.

  9. Has anyone bought food supplements/ vitamin pills through mail order from West/U.K.? These seem so much cheaper on eBay etc than sourced locally.

I haven’t but from bitter experience as you can see from this thread, if whatever it is. If it is shipped in via courier services it will go under the customs microscope but I can also say from experience that things that are shipped in via the normal postal system will arrive unscathed and un opened. I have had underwater pool lights and prescription medication sent in with no problems whatsoever

  10. Thank's folks that's pretty much the response I was expecting. I will see what eBay says and probably end up writing off the 126 pounds and not be such a dumb ass as to expect any of these customs muppets to ever have any common sense. There are reasons why some.countries cant climb out of the third world and this kind of nonsense is one of them.

  11. I recently purchased an Omron BF511 Family Body Composition Monitor (essentially fancy body weight scales) on eBay. The seller is in the UK, so it was sent from there to Thailand via DHL. To my amazement, I got an email from DHL last Friday stating that Customs has requested I get an Importation License from the Central Bureau Of Weights and Measures before they will release the parcel. This takes bureaucratic retardation to a new level. Now I only bought one for these things for the princely sum of ninety-three pounds plus courier charges, and I have no intention of buying more than one. Has anybody else come across this lunacy in Thailand when buying things online? Mind you I should have known better, I bought some Silicon Lube from the US (to use on my squeaky doors, cough) which was couriered in by UPS and Thai Customs wanted me to supply them with an MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheet) from the manufacturer, needless to say, the doors are still squeaky.  What astounds me, even more, is that other items I have bought online that have been sent through the post get no attention whatsoever.
