  1. No he doesn't belong to Pattaya, he belongs to a zoo somewhere in Germany. Deport him and don't forget his clothes and to stamp "Banned" in his passport. Bye bye Thailand. What's wrong with people coming here? Naked runners, sex on the beach performers. Btw sex on the beach is a drink not a stunt. But to be honest the two naked ladyboys running after an Indian was hilarious. 😁
  2. Perhaps it has something to do with new regulations. https://thelegal.co.th/2026/01/19/bank-of-thailand-proposes-stricter-documentation-requirements-for-inbound-foreign-exchange-transactions/
  3. I did this test about 2 years ago at Bangkok DLT 4. Had problems too, but finally passed the test. I had a feeling the woman were helping me.
  4. 285k .. It's crazy and many tents are closing down because they can't sell their stock of cars. In my opinion this is because they opened the doors for cheap Chinese EV cars. I have heard that Honda is closing some of their factories here, Nissan too I believe. People are loosing jobs.
  5. I feel sorry for you, the market for used cars has dropped the last 6 months. I was planning to sell my Toyota hilux truck but I had to change my mind. Mine was the top model when I bought it new 2020 and it has only 52000 km on the odo. All services made and it is nearly in mint condition. But I'm not going to give it away so I will keep it. Good luck with tour MG truck!!
  6. I have watched some Tiktok videos made by a Thai police man in Bangkok. He has stopped many taxis breaking the law in different ways. The other day he stopped a pink taxi and nothing were legal on that car. Driver had no taxi license and his driving licence had expired. The taxi had no insurance and had not payed tax. The driver tried different ways to escape the heavy fees and was lying and making stories. He had to bring the car to the police station and park it there. The police man complained and said he stopped many illegal taxis every week and there are coming new all the time, it doesn't matter how many he stops and fine. He has some kind of terminal, it looks like the one you put your credit card in when you pay in a shop. He insert the driving licence tap the cars registration number and get all info. He prints out the fine and the driver can then pay using a QR code. Seems to be quite smart.
  7. I don't want to use cash, especially not when there is an excellent system to pay with QR code
  8. Ok, perhaps it's good .. when I want to pay for my taxi ride, older drivers refuse to accept QR payment or payment through promptpay, they only want cash - no tracks of income 🥴
  9. 8 million baht ... hm.. Apparently, it’s a completely different level of money for senior police officers and their families. When I forgot my driving licence, I only had to pay 300 baht to the ordinary policeman.
  10. Transparency is very important, but what about the fact that votes are bought? No one seems to be upset about that. Just asking.
  11. I had to stop drinking alcohol about 18 months ago due to health problems. I thought it would be difficult, but it hasn’t been a problem at all, even though I sometimes miss having a glass of wine or a couple of beers. Before that, I drank regularly — not heavily, but a couple of beers, drinks, or glasses of wine almost every day.
  12. What is the problem? Buy your beer or whatever it is in advance. Buy a box or three.. have a beer storage at home or in your hotel room.. how difficult can it be?
  13. I live here, have Thai bank account, so it's easy for me to use QR code payments. I use it all the time and so does my Thai wife. Very convenient and fast. The sellers in the market love it, then they don't need to handle cash. Nice to hear that also tourists use it more and more..
  14. Yes I have one.. very practical, then I don't need to fill upp my pockets with all the garbage I have in my man bag .. 😁
  15. No, never... I don't look like a gay so I'm safe 😂
  16. How about thinking of all the affected civilians living in border areas. Are they going to force them to evacuate a third time.. Is it possible to solve this problem once and for all with diplomacy and not showing all guns? The generals is apparently not good in diplomacy, so there has to be someone else.
  17. What I hear fromfriends and relatives back in Europe is that people want to get more for their western currency when they go here, which means the thai baht exchange rate is to high, so if you want to boost your economy and increase the number of tourists, there is one solution - devaluation of the strong baht. The other reason I hear from friends back home in Europe is the unrest, people are worried about the border situation. Several European governments recommend not to travel in or visit the border areas closer than 50 km to Cambodia, which means the number of tourists there are decreasing. Except that people are worried the western insurance companies will not pay for damages if anything happens.
  18. We live in a house in the outskirts of Bangkok so we can choose the ISP we want. When we moved here we had a fiber from True and there were always trouble, it was not only outa,it was also very little bandwidth. True's answer to this was that were so many customers on our area. Well, after a couple of months I was so fed up with True, so I called AIS and ordered a fiber from them. This was around 8-9 years ago, I think, and since then we only had minor problems. If there are an outage I always get an SMS from them, telling when they estimate to fix the problem. They are often faster than estimated time. I'm sorry this doesn't help the op , but it confirms the problem with True and perhaps helps others to choose ISP. By the way, in our house in rural Isaan, we have a fiber from 3BB, also working great.
  19. I hope they can implement all the projects. I think are all needed.
  20. It appears to be a power struggle between the national police chief and Big Joke. When the latter became head of Immigration, he exposed a scandal involving the procurement of automated passport control machines at Suvarnabhumi Airport. After that, a number of strange things happened: he lost his job, was reassigned to the then Prime Minister Prayut’s office, and his car was shot at while parked on the street. He later returned from the cold and was one of two candidates for the position of national police chief. Then came allegations of illegal casino operations and money laundering. Big Joke was once regarded as the good guy. Either he is just as rotten as everyone else, or he has stepped on the toes of someone very powerful.
  21. I live in Bangkok, renewed my 5 y driving licences, car and motorbike, for the second time last year and managed to get my thai-id nr on both, this time without restrictions. The first 5 y period there was a restriction on the back side telling if I wanted to drive outside my khet (same as amphoe) I needed a letter from police. The new ones I got last year were without restrictions!!! I have been driving around in many provinces, been stopped in various checkpoints and nothing happened, the police checked front side, no questions asked. According to what I have heard there should be a restriction if a foreigner using thai-id from yellow house book / pink id card. But TiT ...
  22. There are loads of them in Bangkok and sometimes they drive down to Pattaya. Recently there were a Porsche club meeting in Bangkok. I don't think have seen so many Porsches in one place at the same time. All driven by thais. There are Lambo and Ferrari clubs too. If you go to the garage in a shopping mall in Bangkok you'll find a special supercar parking. Example of supercars in Bangkok
