Report Bangkok Teacher’s Brutal 200-Squat Punishment Lands Student in Hospital
dallen52 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Quite common in LOS. You can put your head in the sand and ignore it. But.. The daughter at university in Buriram and the teachers have money boxes on thier desks. And yes you have to contribute. Plus assignments that require extra payments that obviously go in the money box. Pay or fail.. Add teachers that teach subjects with no reference to what's set in exams. Sub scale payments to less than academic qualified teachers.. As others said. Nobody fails.. -

Its the law. For everyone, not just farang because they can pay the fine. (Usually cash and no receipts) Its been said so many times before and to be honest they are like Lemmings rushing into the rivers to drown. Ok, sanity check time. Helmet must be worn. Its the law. Multiple people on a bike. NO Kids 4 on a bike. NO. Side cars attached to a bike and Granny in a plastic chair. NO. Loud exhaust systems. NO. Lights on bikes. YES. Stopping at traffic lights. YES. Stop at pedestrian crossing. YES. Actually having a licence to drive. YES. Registration and insurance. YES. Someone else taking licence test. NO. Giving way. YES. Use indicators. YES. Stopping at an accident. YES. Brand new bikes sold without registration or insurance. NO. There's a definite pattern here.!! See where I'm going? 250,000 "active" police sat in little offices phones in hand. You are lucky to see a police officer at night. Even harder to get one to attend. Time for serious changes. -
Report Thailand Ramps Up Covid Drug Production Amid Rising Cases
dallen52 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We've been here before. Last time invoked horrendous terms for entry and short term stays in Thailand. I personally had 4 hotel quarantines. Numerous expensive covid tests Locked out 9 months because I didn't have an OA just a non O and extension. Thai airline flights lost. Surely we have learned enough? A vaccine isn't for everyone. Believers or non believers. I did my bit. Shots and boosters. Now the government should be introducing free vaccine shots of reputable brands for anyone who wants to have. Sadly nothing is free in Thailand. But the economic impacts are already being seen Introducing free shots would be a major event in the eyes of the tourism world. -

Report Thailand Sees a Surge in COVID-19 Cases: Concerns for Public Health
dallen52 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It never went away. Records on reported cases stopped over a year ago. So could have been unreported a long time. I know in Issan that many people especially elderly would not have Moderna vaccine. Or come to think of it, any vaccine at all. Very low rates of actual vaccination. Maybe time to introduce a reactivation of vaccination.- 233 replies

Crime AI Police Robot Helps Catch 14 Criminals in Thailand

So what does it do that other CCTV and facial recognition software doesn't do already? It can't run or apprehend. You still need a plod to implement the arrest. But then again you don't see many BIB actually running or raising a sweat. -

Just another thai road law that they don't seem to care about. Pull over and give way to emergency vehicles If the police actually read the road laws and enforced them, instead of playing games on thier phones, it would be a safer place for everyone. -
