  1. About 50% do it that way. Many with immigration officials help. And a wad of the folding stuff. As several Immigration officers say. "Without farang have no job".
  2. And especially when certain immigration officials are actively engaged and promote using banks like Bangkok bank, where accounts can be readily opened for a fee. Normally around 4900 baht. When immigration laws clearly state any commercial bank can be used. Jomtien immigration for example. Buriram immigration is ok with kasikorn bank. No requirement to open Bangkok bank account.
  3. Depending on the size of your wallet. Speaking from experience. Amazing how things get sorted out when you get in that office on the 2nd floor.
  4. Seems the Sinsod is still a factor more and more. Most farang seem attracted to a pre used pre married and a few kids from previous relationships. You throw the bundles of baht in the plate with expectations that it's just for show, and then family have already made plans for spending it. Day one marriage. Day two divorce.
  5. Just what we need. More drunken drivers...
  6. I got one the other day. 128 in a 90 zone. Buriram road. (Its impossible to speed because of the condition of the roads) Absolutely rubbish. And 500 baht fine. But I see that any tickets issued in the last 3 years are deemed invalid. Because no right to appeal printed on them.
  7. And tickets issued in the last 3 years are deemed unlawful. Because there's no right to appeal printed on them.
  8. They meet the requirements using agent/immigration services. About 50% are doing it this way and leaving thier money in a decent interest rate paying bank account.
  9. Its as bent as the knock off Rolex on sale openly. The brown paper envelope industry is alive and thriving.
  10. Most profitable. Pay for positions is still alive and thriving.
  11. How can any location be eco friendly when you have direct discharge from sewage into the sea there??
  12. At least the police were on the scene almost immediately...
  13. Common occurrence. Regardless of what some deniers say We're talking about pay for position jobs. With opportunities to earn accordingly. I was pulled a few years ago for not carrying my passport. Seriously. Cell time. Morning in court. Pay the fine. Business must have been quiet.
  14. Same here. TR 60 visa and Thailand bike and car licence issued Same bank account with Kbank. Was several years ago now, and 5 year licences issued a couple of times. You obviously need a residential certificate showing the address where you stay, plus it must say for vehicle licence... Medical certificate also. Buriram province. Nangrong..
  15. No mention of any thais pulled up or do they get the customary wave to keep going...
  16. What would be worthy news would be Millions of thai people caught with no helmets, no licences, 3 or 4 on a bike, underage school and village kids as young as 8, or cages attached to the sides of bikes with Granny sat on a plastic chair... They target farang because they have money to pay the fines...
  17. As far as payment goes of course it happens. TIT. Normally a visit to the 2nd floor and some negotiating takes place. I know people who have been through this. Same the Friday night Buchao checks for DIU... A quick accompanied walk to the ATM and 10,000 later all disappears. Along with the threats of reporting to immigration and visa cancellation. Or 3 nights in the cells until Monday morning court appearance. They have a quota to reach. End of month and the pressures on to boost the coffers. As far as the cells go. That's a pretty good illustration of the conditions...
  18. Its not just Bangkok. Here in Buriram province locals have lost thier rubbish tip and been told to burn rubbish at home. So every night plumes of smoke plus the fires lit to keep mosquito 🦟 away from the buffalo's. TIT...
  19. Its click bait. Rubbish stories or news, but they collect your details once you open the story. IP address, mailing address. Etc etc. Its not fantasy. It actually happens. Even this site bombards you with advertising. And if you put Adblocker on it tells to turn off.
  20. Farang has. Thai has not. Ok to take... TIT...
  21. Thai prison is like a living death sentence. To be avoided.
  22. Its the Mediterranean look. Complete with upper lip. Just like thier grandmother.
  23. Because they are too lazy. Unless there's a pay day in it for them.
