I am not a trump supporter and I am not american. BUT I have to say Thailand fully deserves it all the way. The average import duties the US was charging Thailand was 0% to 6.5%. Thailand proposal was a promise to buy more liquid gas and other things to balance the trade deficit in 7 years. They were looking to kick the can down the road and not deal with it as thais normally do. I really hope the EU takes notice and do the same with Thailand. Enough of 1-way treatment. Now I feel a bit better about paying 200% more than Thais when I visit their parks.

I am reading a lot lately about this new tax laws targeting mostly foreigners and income overseas. My question is... if I bring in 800k baht for the retirement visa will trigger a tax liability here? I already pay taxes in the US. Being taxed here again would be a deal breaker for me.
