But I was at the Pattaya City sign just yesterday (where they have always located some fireworks in the past) and there was no activity whatsoever.  And I couldn't see any fireworks barges out in the bay either:blink:

Looking at the news it looks like Sek is being summoned for firing a

gun in the ground and air...I wonder who will be the back up back up replacement...

  2. Just think how many cigerette butts(and Pooh) washed out to sea from all over town off the roads.   I have seen the waste on the beaches around town its pretty bad.  Its also really bad how much human waste(sewage) is being dumped into the sea here untreated.

Go to the bottom on Kasetsin by the sailing club and it flows like a river ontop of the road to the low point when theres no rain.

Go hire a boat or fly a drone and inspect Jomtien at the last set of lights off the beach road heading to the end and about 500 meters from shore theres a fountain of black water pumping it out, you'll know the spot when you see no waves and black water bumbling, and if your unsure use your nose.

If I even think about stopping by the beach down near beach road, I vomit.

I remember reading a report on how unfit the water was for humans to be in a few months back, but I have never once seen a sign or a public warning out.  Whats the water like now...

43 million USD for a Yaht show this year, too bad they didnt cancel that or half that and put the money in infrastruture for the future of the sea for all to see for another generation.

Well, it could be, but the woman in question was reported earlier walking on the highway, and not able to communicate with the Police who checked her, so it seems more a case of the woman losing the plot.

I hope she is well, we hear everyday of mad people hurting or killing others, what she did was just a little climbing in an unusual spot.

Didnt hear anything about that, but lets hope she figures it out before its to late.

    Nice congrete park.

Actually, its almost all asphalt with a layer of paint, 1000 Chinese tourists at any given moment, about 30 trees, 15 benches, 100 buses, fountain, and a toilet on wheels. Chinese tourist bus roundabout with a passenger drop off/pick up point painted blue for effect.

  5. Drove by tonight with my daughter, stopped and walked to the fountain. She asked me "Where's the park and playground at?" Got to love a 5-year-old's perspective.

What was the price tag on this project again...43 million USD...

On a positive note, the traffic flowed much smoother with 15 police patrolling the area, keeping the buses from double parking.

  6. They always said gold can make you go crazy, and now I now gardening can make you go crazier than gold.

I hope this video will allow Mr gold shop brio be charged to the fullest extent of the law also as he wishes on his Nissan paint swapping friend, as now his claim to have apologized for almost hitting the brit has been shown in actual initiating the conflict.  The Video actually shows him repeatedly using his vehicle as a weapon in the first place.  He even placed others in danger with his vehicle in attempting to continue on his road rampage up the road.  It should also be noted that 1:17 to 1:21 the brio pulls over to allow a truck pass and then pulls back out trying to cause an accident.

It's all too common this type of behavior as you can see the police on the motorbike with no helmet driving on the wrong side of the road with no helmet around a blind corner with no clue or interest and the same as the Thai lady just keeps casually walking right past a crazy farang with a knife attacking the vehicle of a Thai thug.

  7. Interesting; how is this punishable by 2000 Baht for repeatable offenses....Perspective for a 2000 baht fine for littering by the dump truck into waterways...

PHUKET:-- Chalong Mayor Samran Jindapol has urged local residents to stop dumping garbage in the small estuaries that feed into the well-known Klong Mudong canal on Phuket’s east coast, fouling the water and blocking the streams from emptying into Chalong Bay.

Further infringements could be punished with fines of up to B2,000, Mayor Samran warned.

The alarm was raised after people posted complaints of the dumping through the “Pineapple Eyes” environmental community mobile-phone reporting app, developed and launched through the Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) Phuket office with support from Phuket Governor Norraphat Plodthon, Mayor Samran explained.

Does anybody really believe that the maximum penalty for damage to the environment would be applied for dropping a butt?

Ask the Russian Lady in Phuket with a slice of bread in the ocean.  I am a smoker but won't even dare to light up near there as I sure as hell don't want the umbrella corporation, jet ski scammers, or taxi mafia deciding if they deserve a handout that day.  What a horrible day that would be surviving the shakedown...

  9. Heavy Rains, Litter Strewn in a Concrete City, leads to waste washed up on local beaches.  Fine people on the beaches and on the streets,  Remove the plastic bags from circulation, Kenya did.  Do it here and force the 7/11 and market vendors to become responsible.   Ban smoking on the beach, Clean up the beach daily, tackle the sewer problem, tackle the cleaning up the sea, those beaches further down the coast that are still pristine won't be for long if there isn't a change in direction, and as far as Bangsaray goes to me it's in the needs immediate attention folder.

  10. FAIL.   100,000 baht fine for public littering in Thailand or year in jail, epic fail.  Where do they conjure up these numbers from? 24,000 baht is googles number for a Thai average monthly income, think about it?   Amazing Thailand!

lets put some perspective here, this company could possibly face two fines if found guilty each fine amounting to 200,000 baht, no jail time.

AN ETHANOL factory in Suphan Buri will face several lawsuits for alleged violations of environmental and industrial laws as a result of its wastewater reservoirs being breached, severely polluting a large area spanning three districts in Suphan Buri province.

You fine motorcyclist for no helmets, license. being on a motorbike at a money grab checkpoint near you, treat the litterbugs the same way all around the city.  Its a lot easier to train the police on littering than the highway safety act.  I only have one question, where will the money go?  Those 138,000 cigarette butts per mile are not going to clean themselves up are they or all the butts that get washed into the waters from all the storm/ sewer drains around the city 50 meters away from the beaches.

You are too fine without impunity the working class people, Let's see some larger thinking and go after the Tabacco companies to fine, clean up,  and remove the filters.  I dare you...

This is bringing fond memories of the Russian Lady who had one too many pieces of bread in her lunch box that day in the boat, now I understand where they got this idea from....Where does the money go....WAKE UP THAILAND!!!

  11. There needs to be a set of regulations implemented and enforced and not by the operators or by the paying tourists for that matter as they see fit, as they don't seem fit to regulate themselves any longer.  He must have been a cheap thrill seeker by just looking at the photo with the wind bent trees, pelting sideways rain, and surf crashing in on the beach.  This is a prime example of why travel insurance does not cover these activities because there are no regulations or safety standards... a prime example of flying by the seat of your pants...

    stupid is, as stupid does.

I would say that the security guard needs some further recognition, training, a raise, and an assistant.  The sad part is that with violent acts of assault being less than a slap on the wrist to them, the violence won't stop.    It starts at the airport upon exiting the plane.  Que for two hours... or pay 500000 baht and become an elite. Get a taxi with a working meter and stay at the airport or submit and continue on your holiday remembering always to negotiate the fair and be sure of the destination before getting into or on any vehicle period.

Imagine the horror to the tourists,  welcome to Thailand.

    Get in my Taxi,

But we don't want a ride, we're going for a stroll.

Get in my friend's taxi then, he'll take good care of you, It's not safe around here to go for a stroll, see, BAM, PUNCH, Kick to the head!   The land of a million shades of smiles.

  13. Pure speculation based on fiction.

Mohamad, son of Mohamad most likely forgot to empty his tactical bag, Mohamed son of Mohamad must have been playing around with his Dads Mohamad stuff whilst he was packing.  Those rounds were left overs from target practice at live elephants at cousin Mohamads hunting hut in the national park when Mohammad's gun jammed. Just ask Mohamad, Mohammad, Abdul, Mohamad, he knows.

Just kidding,  Mohamads not going to tell you that, at all he's on his way to training camps in the deep south.

    Scary!!!
