You should try doing the report on the app and see what it says. It might not show the overstay.

I can complete the form on the app, but it just tells me I must not overstay.  I have tried various other dates with no luck.

The point I was trying to make is that, at least in my case, it does not appear to be using the permission to stay date on my last online 90 Day report.  That was 27/08/2021, so it would not show an overstay.  I suspect it using my new extension date that I completed in the beginning of this month.

I would not worry about it other than not being unable to do a online report if it actually detects the same error.

The 90 day reporting system is not linked to the main immigration system.

    Which office do you use?

The online site most likely uses the same code/logic as the app.   I get the message to contact the local office.  I only checked the app because it usually gives a more detailed error message.

I use the Udon Thani office.   I was hoping to at least get this one done online, since it is still before the Visa Expiration Date displayed.

  3. The 90 Day App currently shows my Visa Expiration Date of 27/08/2021, which is the expiration of my previous extension and next 90 Day report date.  It shows my Status as Overstay for 4 days.

I completed my extension the beginning of this month and was granted permission to stay until 10/08/2022, which matches the expiration date of my health insurance to extend.   My original visa was an OA visa.   They gave the full year last year.  They could not update my 90 Day report at the time.

Today, 14/08 is exactly 4 days from 10/08, if you ignore the year.  This would indicate that the system is aware of the new extension date, but is not calculating correctly or the new date was entered incorrectly.  The stamp in my passport is correct.

Looks like I need to make a another trip to the Immigration Office to make sure I am not overstaying in their system.

  4. I purchased the health insurance for the extension to stay based on my 0-A visa in July.  I used AA insurance broker in Pattaya, but the process is very simple.  All communication was done via email.

    1. Applied for LMG Plan 1 with a 200,000 baht deductible on July 1.  The application was completed and emailed to my broker along with a copy of my passport data page and entry/visa page.
    2. Application was accepted and paid for via bank transfer from my Thai bank on July 15 for 7,700 baht.  I am 64 years old.  There were 2 days of holidays during that time period, so about 2 weeks to complete.  The insurance letter including a copy of the letter for immigration was emailed back to me and received the hard copies in the mail at my home a few days later.   I used the originals for my extension.
    3. The insurance is valid from just after midnight not 4 pm mentioned earlier, so I applied for my extension on August 10 and was granted a full year extension from my permission of stay thru August 27, 2021, so more than the expiration of my insurance.  This was in Udon Thani.
    4. I did not get a re-entry permit because I still want to break the 0-A chain.

  5. As I promised, here is a follow up.

I successfully got an extension based on my OA visa today, August 10, at Udon Thani immigration.   My health insurance was effective as of today and I was given the full 1 year extension valid until 27-August-2021.

I used 800,000 baht in a Fixed deposit account.

I also did my 90 day report that was due last month.  I did it on time, but it was still pending.

The office was pretty much empty.

The Blood Pressure tablet is Micardis Plus 80mg/12.5mg or its generic product Mizart HCT 80 /12.5mg

I take the non-diuretic version of Micardis 80mg.  Works better for me than Losartan for some reason.

I live in a small town 70KM northeast of Udon and the local pharmacy orders it for me and I have it in a few days.  Just picked up 3 boxes today at 1050 baht for a box of 30.  The generic version is probably cheaper, but I have not explored that yet.  I have seen it the pharmacies in larger cities.

  7. Thanks for everyone's input.  I sent an email to immigration using the email address on my 90 Day report and received a prompt response, so excellent service in that regards.

Here is a quote from the email.

"Effective date of health insurance, should be before you will come to apply for your extension."

I have given those instructions to my insurance agent.

I will try to remember to update this thread after I apply for the extension.

  8. My permission to stay on my Non-Immigrant OA visa is dated 27-AUG-2020, so I will need to get an extension next month at Udon Thani.  I am in the process of getting health insurance from LMG now and they are asking for the start date of the policy.  Anyone with experience at Udon Thani on what date they expect?  I have seen reports on this forum with varying dates.  I have not been having much luck contacting the office.

I plan to dump the OA visa for an O when the borders open, so this is just a one time stop gap.

    Thanks.

Yes, it is available and please note that proof of the 800K does not need to be in a thai bank-account.

In case you are looking for other alternatives to avoid the mandatory thai IO-approved health-insurance scam, I did PM you a comprehensive guideline document outlining all details/options to apply for a Non Imm O - retirement Visa, which does not require the thai IO-approved health-insurance scam.

    Yes

You will need to show 800k baht in a bank or proof of 65k baht income for both totaling 800k baht. You may also be asked for proof of retirement which can be a pension statement.

    Thanks Joe.

It is not listed as an available visa on the website, so it was a little confusing.  I will email the consulate before making any plans to get the latest requirements.

I have had 800k baht in a Thai bank account since April, so no problems with the financial requirements.    I am collecting US social security, so I would use that statement.

  11. The Thai consulate in Penang website does not list requirements for a non-immigrant O visa for reasons of retirement.  Is it actually available?

My OA visa expires in June, but I have permission to stay to the end of August, so I am looking at alternatives to avoid the health insurance by getting a non-immigrant O visa for retirement in a nearby embassy/consulate in early August.  Assuming the travel restrictions are lifted by then.
