  1. You were out of the country 9 months man. Absolutely no idea why you had to be worried. The IO’s are looking at the “visa runners” who are living here on tourist visas and haven’t spent more time in their home countries than thailand ;)

Now after your METV is up and you’ve stayed here all 9 months and try to get  new visa immediately then i would take pre caution from there haha

  2. It’s not scaremongering for people who are living here on tourist visas. It’s 100% fact airport immigration wants us out!

But since there is no Thai law that says it is illegal to stay in Thailand for X amount of time. They won’t win.

There is so many options to enter thailand if you just do research.

People can live in Thailand by doing their 2 land border runs and extending (4 months) and using 3 SETV’s from going to Yangon, Vientiane, Kuala lumpur, Savannakhet easily. And using a domestic flight to fly to BKK. Then get a new passport every year once you get a Remark stamp.

Thank you for the response. I arrived into Suvarnabhumi/BKK after about 2 weeks in another country that doesn't share a border with Thailand. I had stayed less than 90 days in Thailand on an extended SETV before leaving Thailand to visit another country, then returning to BKK with my (foreign) friend. I thought it bizarre that my return to Thailand was treated like I was doing something illegal, especially after having been out of Thailand for over a year prior to my 2019 visit, and only staying a total of less than 180 days between two calendar years as my prior history in Thailand. I guess no arrival into BKK/DMK in the future is safe for me, since after I leave here my current time in Thailand will be added to the list of grievous offenses I have made to the Kingdom.

The crackdown at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueng are more strict than ever. Even myself, I have been denied entry at BKK.  But I still live in Thailand on Tourist visas. Nothing to hide. The border immigration let me in with a smile. No questions asked even though they see my full history on their screens.

The way I do it is by knowing all my options.  I take advantage of doing my 2 land border runs per year and extending that. Which gives me 4 months. Plus doing a Tourist Visa run via land border and extendin g that for an additional 3 months. You can go to Yangon. Vientiane. Savannakhet, Kuala Lumpur from Bangkok via bus. I don't ever need to fly out of Thailand anymore until they start changing procedures at land borders and it becomes a problem.

I recently got a "too many visas" warning in my passport but I bought a brand new passport, to do fresh new visa runs at the border consulates again. This is really the only option if you plan to live in Thailand on tourist visas until you decide you are finished with Thailand. Take advantage of the 2 border runs per year, and tourist visa from neighboring country, and buying a new passport after they stamp a remark/warning stamp in it.

Other than that, if you plan on flying out of Thailand. Don't fly back in. Fly to neighboring country and use the bus to come back in, then you can continue on via domestic flight or bus to Bangkok.

  4. Immigration don't care where you go after they deny your entry ????

The responsibility is on the AIRLINE that FLEW YOU IN.

So if you flew on an Airline that only has flights going in and out of BKK, then you are stuck going to where you came back from.

Luckily for me when I got denied entry, I flew from Bali - BKK on Thai Airlines when I was denied entry. So Thai Airlines flies to MANY different destinations so I was able to use Thai Airlines to go from BKK - VTE (Vientiane) and enter through Thailand via Land Border.

The problem is most people will not be using an airlines that flies from BKK-VTE (or neighboring country) so you are STUCK going back to where you flew in from. For example if you flew to BKK on Japan Airlines... There is no flights on Japan Airlines that go from BKK to another country, except only Japan. So you are stuck going back to Japan.

Why would you get rejected if you have a valid METV?

Because METV's do not guarantee you entry into Thailand. Especially if it looks like you are living in Thailand with it. If you are going in/out frequently that is good, but if you are staying for 60 days plus extension, leaving and re-entering. That's a very bad look.

They will deny your entry even if you have a METV and say that you are spending too much time in Thailand without going back to your home country.

  6. The best strategy is entering through land border.

If you are flying international. Do Not fly into BKK. Fly into Laos first.

You enter Thailand through the Land Border with your Visa. Then fly to Bangkok via Domestic flight.

I just got a brand new METV from when I went back to my home country and activated it at the land border with no questions asked even though my passport is full of tourist visas for 2 years

Just take a taxi from Vientiane airport to the bridge, stamp out of Laos, take a shuttle bus across the bridge, stamp into Thailand, and look for a van or taxi to Udon Thani airport. It is busy, but quite straightforward.

I'm curious how much will it cost going from Vientiane Airport using the taxi to Friendship bridge to prevent being ripped off? And do you get it at the ground floor inside the airport or do you go outside and haul a taxi from the street?

I will never fly into Thailand. It is too risky. And I've been out of Thailand for 10 months. If you read about the consequences of being denied entry it's not worth the risk. Denied entry equals defaced passport, and air ticket 5 times the regular price and no guarantee being allowed to enter your country of choice and therefore being deported back to USA like a most wanted criminal and at an exorbitant cost. These airports have become a joke. So much for Thailand's dream of being a hub of all things. Even land borders are not guaranteed. I take it your suitcase has has wheels. Let us know how your apartment searching goes in Vietnam. Philippines is amazing, beautiful women. I think you'll find Danang dull, kind people though. I like Hanoi the most. Also think of how your passport will be defaced if denied entry into Thailand. This is going to give you huge problems entering other countries.

Are you trolling? Cause bro I don't know why you think like this for.. a denied entry does not mean anything bad. It just means they couldn't let you in AT THIS TIME because of insufficient funds (even if it is a BS reason). People get denied all the time because they only come with credit cards and don't even carry 20K Baht cash on them.

And please tell me! How does this effect air ticket prices? And no guarantee being allowed to enter your own country or any other country? Come on man. That's absurd.  It's not like if you go to Japan, they will be able to know what Section 12.2 is or even read Thai Language for your denial stamp!

Is there anywhere left that will give you a TV if you've got a bunch in your passport? I picked up the dreaded blue stamp on my last one Sav. I've already got one TV in there from Hanoi and Vein. Been here 9months straight now.

Back to the spot where im considering extending my stay and getting a new passport after and planning to go back to the states for the holidays. I could do 2 lander border runs but would rather just grab a TV is there is any options left that dont care about visa history.

I wouldn't risk it bro! It's not easy to get to Yangon, do you really want to spend the 5,000 baht plus time to go there with a full passport AND Blue Remark Stamp only to get your application denied?

I am in the same situation as you. My passport is full of visas plus a blue remark stamp from Savannakhet. If I was planning to stay in Thailand longer, I would have applied for a brand new passport that way when I go I have a fresh blank new passport and I know I will get approved.  The only reason why I didn't get a new passport is because I am doing my 2 of 2 visa exempt land border at Phu Nam Ron plus extending that for a total of 2 months and then I'm going back to my home country in December. So I will be able to get a new passport during this time before I return to Thailand next year.

  10. Random question about Thai Elite....

Say I was denied entry at Suvarnabhumi Airport based on Section 12 (2). Does this disqualify me from getting a Thai Elite visa now? Even if I get a new passport and apply, they already have my name in the system as being denied entry at Suvarnabhumi Airport even though I re-entered at Nong Khai using my Tourist visa without any issues?

No guarantees, but someone at Savannakhet was recommended to get a transit visa. My guess it that you would get one (but not if you had one already). The cost is 800 baht. It allows a 30-day stay and is not extendable.

Good info to know! So not extendable. 30 days only. I could do this, seems much easier for 30 days instead of pressing my luck with applying at Yangon.

It's one transit visa per passport or per year?

I'm not even going to attempt to apply for a tourist visa. Just the transit visa. Last time I went to Savannakhet they gave me a tourist visa, plus the remark stamp with it. So it was one and done.

  12. If you used up your 2 LAND BORDER Exempts. And you go to Savannakhet.  Can you just apply for a Transit Visa so you can go back to Thailand and stamp in for 30 days?

I already have a "Too Much Visas" in my passport stamp from Savannakhet. So I know I won't be able to get a Visa.  But what if I just want to stay 30 more days and use the Transit Visa just to go back through the border, even though I already used my 2 visa exempts for 2019? How much does this cost?

I've read that if I will go to Savannakhet by myself I'll be probably denied. How about the agencies? Can you guys recommend any agency which would surely get a 2 months tourist Visa in Vientiane? I'll go to Vietnam if there aren't any worth recommending with 100% visas applications being granted. I don't want to be denied. I spent almost 3 months in Thailand this year.

The reason people have been going to Savannakhet or Vientiane is because IF they get approved for the Visa, they are pretty much guaranteed to use it through Land Border without having anxiety that they will get denied entry.

Going to other countries such as Vietnam, Bali, etc where you have to fly out to get a Visa and fly back in.  The problem is coming back into Bangkok through Airport, where right now is the most strict as far as crackdowns happening.

You have only 3 months of history in Thailand, so I think you should be good. Seeing as the people that are being denied entry at airports have 6 months or more history in Thailand!

  14. You are at high risk if you fly into the country.

Both airports in Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueng) are at an all time high strict point.

So even if you get a visa and fly in from Vietnam or another country, you still need to pass Immigration at the airport where they can deny your entry even if you have an un-used visa.

Land borders are the most chill and laid back (at least for now.. who knows about next year though?)

Your best and safest bet is entering Thailand through the border at Thai-Lao or Penang or even Myanmar and then fly to Bangkok via Domestic flight so you don't go through custom immigration control and get questioned.

crazy man drawing on the passport LOL, i dont know if that will go over well.

Im basically in the exact same situation as you, long term tourist with a heavily used passport and a remark from savannakhet.

Savannakhet has changed in the last few months (such as Vientiane) both considered to be the two easiest consulates to go to are now becoming the most strict.

I decided to go to Savannakhet a few months ago, because I thought you could get at least 2 back-to-back visas before they stamp this "REMARK", no one predicted that they would stamp the warning by counting previous Visas from different consulates especially since this was my first time there.

That's why I am not sure which consulate I can go to that won't care about how many previous Visas I have. Worst case scenario, I could get a brand new passport and go back to Savannakhet. But I still have many pages in my passport and not in a rush to get a new passport for just 1 last tourist visa before I go back to my homecountry.  I'm going to try my luck with Yangon since I've never been there before I just hope they don't count my previous visas and deny my application. It just seems like getting a new passport would be better since the Visa to go to Myanmar is $50 plus transportation, I could just pay $100 for a new passport and go back to Savannakhet actually and not have to worry about anything lol.

where has this been posted, is it official information? this would mean if your a continuous long stay person in thailand on tourist visas you could only obtain 1 tourist visa from savannakhet??

I recently went to Savannakhet for the FIRST time in July and they warned me about the being in Thailand for 6 months. They counted my previous visas I had from different embassies, issued me the visa but stamped this Remark in my passport.

I want to go to Yangon to get 1 more Tourist Visa, but am I risking getting my application denied there because of this stamp? Or if I just cross the stamp out like this, they won't be able to read it, so if Yangon don't care to count how many different tourist visas I have in my passport, then I guess this gives me better odds compared to them being able to read the warning and then deny my application based on the stamp alone.

I am avoiding airport entry at this point so Yangon seems to  be my only option for one last tourist visa and land border entry since I already been to Vientiane and Savannakhet.
