I haven't used an METV since pre-covid and pre Evisa portal. I alway usd a Visa agency in DC to procure them for me. I just submitted an application and was surprised that it did not ask for any of the information I used to need to provide (financials, letter from employer, etc). I am curious if this is something they will follow up with me for? Also how long does it take via the EVisa portal? I am a bit early applying to utilize the entirity of the validity but also don't really need to maximize it. I'm curious of other US Passport esperiences in regards to this. thanks!

It's actually a very convenient way to stay for 9 months in the current environment. Not sure where the scam is. If you've spent time and have any friends in Thailand it's incredibly easy to sort out a very reasonably priced rental.

When did you get your STV? Did you need to submit a background check? If so, what did you use to satisfy this requirement?

I wonder if it's different for different countries. Since it was first announced and I considered it back a long time ago the US version mentioned a criminal background check.

Can you all literally not read? Everywhere is says STV Extended and you all are wondering what this is. Good grief. If I wanted to go to Columbia or Portugal I sure wouldn't be wasting time on the former Thai Visa forum.

The point of the visa is to fill the empty rentals. So yes, you will need something saying you are paying somebody rent with a tax id and contact details as stated in the requirements.

Where is your citizenship? What type of background check did you provide? It's a little vague in its description of need for it to be signed.
