Get married again it's easy inexpensive and will end this problem. As for an agent I don't know we went by ourselves with appropriate paperwork and flew thru the processWe're already married in the UK and registered visa Kor Ror 22 in Bangkok but the Embassy in Laos/Our agent and every official don't seem to know what they are doing
We gave the agent our Kor Ror which they photocopied....we have the original.
The amphur in Bangkok insisted on keeping our original UK married certificate with all the MOFA stamps... I'm furious the more I think about this

Go get married at local district office. Get the colored bordered Thai certificate. I had no issues in savanaket. Wife's book and copy of her ID. If you are going to savanaket there is a guy across the street from embassy who photocopies everything and puts in correct folder. There is a list of everything you need somewhere in this section or get hold of ubonjoe he has all the infoPaid an agent 7900 visa run to Laos for a non immigrant 'o' based on marriage...furious at the moment...queued up and the agent/drivers came aroudn with the photos of our docs and I thought everything should be fine (already gone through the nightmare of getting the kor ror 22) ... pretty sure the agent put a photo copy of that in there for them. Copy of our UK marriage certificate with all the stamps and translations
Went back to the minibus to go to hotel and get down the road and driver gets phone call, they want the original marriage certificate which the Amphur in Bangkok insisted on keeping. However I gave the driver the colour photocopies of the marriage certificate with translation plus stamp from Amphur on... no go. Wondering whether they wanted the original Kor Ror 22 the Amphur gave us which looks like a photocopy but has a blue stamp from the embassy so it must be the original
Completely clueless embassy staff and visa agents and amphur staff... told mini bus driver in the hotel the Kor Ror 22 is the original but he said its too late to take the Kor Ror 22 back to the embassy and he doesn't know what a Kor Ror 22 is I suspect. Stuck with another tourist visa again

Actually the requirements haven't changed just the verification process. I'd be hard pressed to spend 65k a month over here, but then I don't drink or chase tail. My monthly bills here are right around 5k a month depending on how much I use my a.c..It’ll be interesting to see how this new change plays out. I’m getting ready to return to SE Asia for retirement and will need to comply with whatever requirements they come up with. I actually receive about 2x the required amount every month, not including investment income, so transferring the 65,000 baht per month wouldn’t be a problem, as I would normally spend more than that anyway. Alternatively, I suppose I could just wire in the 800,000. Anyway, for planning purposes it would be nice to have a clear and unambiguous set of rules.
infeel sorry for all the people caught up in a mess. Imagine having property and then having to leave.

Yep if you do a border run every 89 days you're not here for 90 thereby no need to report as you check in at the borderYou stay in Thailand for a year and don't do a 90 day report?

That's what I figured. I go to savanaket for my marriage visa they don't ask for financial proofNO! Have you been reading these threads? Thailand needs proof that you are BRINGING INTO THAILAND an average of 65,000 per month, or that you have 800,000 in a Thai bank account. Theyre not interested in what you have back home, they want to see that youre bringing money into the country to cover your lifestyle. OK?

Not sure but I think it has to be in a Thai bank. You may think so but if they don't think so it ain't up for consideration. Ain't easy hanging around here. Lots of hoops and they keep moving the basket

Thanks for your reply Ubon. I noticed you said that previously. Then someone stated you needed the "showy" version and official version. Not sure why some people have different info and confuse things. [emoji106]
You must 'show' the original in living colour marriage certificate plus you need signed copies of it to turn in

Just returned Friday from there. Easiest experience I've had since I've been here. Copy of your passport your wife's ID and housebook and copy of marriage licence along with 2 pictures. Take all this stuff to the guy across the street pay him 80bhat he copies it and puts it together in a nice neat bundle for immigration. The only words spoken between the officer and me was "5000" baht please come back tomorrow after 1400. Simple hassle free

I see there is a requirement to have 800k baht in a Thai bank and am wondering how long I must maintain this balance in order to obtain this visa. Is it just required for the application process or do I have to show it periodically
