A new Covid-19 testing centre, capable of conducting up to 1,000 tests a day, will open in Bangkok tomorrow, as the capital grapples with a surge in new cases. Phuket is fast running out of beds for people testing positive. Locals with mild symptoms can isolate at home, but international arrivals have to quarantine either in hospital or their hotel. However, Samut Prakan shows 669 cases (352 local cases and 317 from elsewhere). The age range was between 29 and 93 years old. Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (7), diabetes (2), hyperlipidemia (1), obesity (1), and kidney disease (1).
