(1/3) Fair Party MP Kannavee Suebsaeng posted on FB a memo from House Committee on Laws, Justice & Human Rights meeting on Jul 10, 2024, stating a rep from Thai Foreign Min told committee, the US, Australia & Sweden have expressed interest in resettling (2/3) The Foreign Ministry rep added that Thailand has the consider the sensitivities of the matter as Chinese envoys have been persistent whenever they meet the Thai counterpart in demanding that these people be sent back to China. Senator Angkhana Neelapaijit emphasized that the 40 Uyghur refugees who were deported did not wish to return to China, and criticized the National Security Council (NSC) for providing inaccurate information to the upper house's human rights committee. Angkhana, chairperson of the committee, stated that the detainees had sent letters clearly expressing their refusal to return to China, and that the committee had repeatedly requested to visit the refugees at the Immigration Detention Center (IDC), but these requests were consistently denied by the Immigration Bureau. It's certainly not S Africa Cape Town he's talking about. My brother (Brit) relocated there many years ago and what a great place to retire. That leaves 53 other countries he's talking about....take your pick.
