PM Wants ATKs Available at Stores, Online BANGKOK, Sept 27 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ordered the Public Health Ministry to make COVID-19 antigen test kits (ATKs) available at general and online stores and assigned the Government Pharmaceutical Organization to procure them for sales at low prices. Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said the prime minister wanted the Public Health Ministry and other concerned organizations to guarantee that general people and small-scaled business operators have adequate access to ATKs at reasonable prices. In response, the board of the Food and Drug Administration resolved to allow general stores to sell legally supplied ATKs without having to register for the sales, in addition to ATKs available at drug stores with pharmacists. https://tna.mcot.net/english-news-788921

The Ministry of Public Health has revealed that Thailand's vaccine stockpile will top 125 million doses by the end of the year as vaccination picks up pace across all segments of the population. Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said security of vaccine supply and a steady rate of vaccinations were essential for restarting the economy. The US Embassy in Bangkok posted on Twitter on Saturday that the US will donate an additional 1 million doses of safe and effective vaccines to Thailand The embassy added that the US and Thailand are working in close coordination to complete all necessary documentation.
