  1. Yeah, if you are careful not to reinjured or strain it, it does seem to get a lot better.  If you have a herniated disk, it will hurt like Hell, even if you weight 46 Kg...but some studies say time can heal those and surgery may not be the best option.

As far as the shots.. and I assume you mean cortisone.  I shared a rot daeng with a Canadian couple, early sixties, last year.  He had just completed his appointment at RAM.  He had a few shots, but what was interesting was that they incorporated some type of scan that allowed them to very precisely pinpoint the injections for the best effect. He stated a bit over 2000 THB...seemed like a good value, and he was very positive about his experience.

  2. That whole fan assembly can be removed, often a square housing, mounted by four bolts, and one electrical connector.  Junk yards would sell the whole panel.  It isn't a centrifugal fan, so there is no clutch, it is a lot more like a bathroom exhaust fan.  But, even when working, that fan doesn't start when you turn the key....that is where the sensor comes in.  But, here where you run ac 11 months of the year, it is better for it to run all the time....oh, but notice as you walk through a parking lot, you will hear fans running on cars that are turned off, but then they shut down, once the coil is cooled.  So, that is part of the sensor thing.  If it is obviously shot, then replace it, but usually it is sensor/electric so do some random checks and pop the hood...see if it is running.  Especially if the ac does kick on.

New compressor is I will guestimates 15-20k....but once you get the electrics taken care of, then talk to your rebuild guy.  A question is how did the compressor respond to no fan.  If it has repeatedly overheated than it could be shot.  And, I don't even know if those are rebuildable.

Start with the multimeter on the fan.

Thanks for all replies am running out will get back to you.

ps i have a Vitara straight engine but i was told the electric fan wasn't working.

It doesn't seem to matter temp is OK as the fan also runs off the crankshaft .....it's on the list to do at ProAuto

Could this be a problem for the AC and maybe its an intermittent fault?

Crankshaft fan is cooling the radiator, that is why the engine is staying cool.  If you have a second electric fan under the hood, then that is needed to. cool the condensing coil.  Look at the outside portion of your home a/c.  Notice all the air blowing from it, when it runs?  If that fan was broken, your indoor unit fan would blow warm air...and with today's electronics, might just shut down completely.  If the fan is getting current, replace the fan.  If not..check the fuse, and/or relay, which is in or by the fuse box, near the battery.  There is also a sensor telling the relay to power or not.  Some mechanics will just run power direct to the fan bypassing the sensors.  Generally, it is much more of an electrical issue, than a mechanical issue.  Especially, with an intermittent issue.  The Honda Accord automatic transmissions are giving people fits, and they are still getting stranded after rebuilding the mechanics of the tranny.  A few sensors, smaller than a ping pong ball are usually the culprit.  No one likes the dealer, but they are the only ones, who will have the proprietary parts and diagnostic equipment.

  4. They told me that was not available in CM, and that was one of the reasons I finally switched it into my name.  I would not have set up auto debit, if a pay online option was available.  BTW, my office is the 700 year stadium.

  5. Yes, I should have mentioned COR....I forgot about it because I have never had to do one since...and photos were suppose to be one inch, but you know how that goes.  CMULI is a great place for official passport translate..300 THB and they will give you another one with a fresh stamp for 50 in the future..they keep them on file.

  6. In my case, Yellow was done at the Tessaban and Pink was done at the Amphur.  Needed Thai person for both, but not head man.  Translated passport, which I made sure matched the Chinote for my condo.  Haven't used pink yet, but Yellow has been great at the banks without a WP...opened a brokerage account and TMB has been the only Bank to say cannot.  Recently, I was able to switch PEA to my name and set up autopay.  Did that solo, too, without any ID from previous owner or anything.

  7. Surprising how little Low E glass is used here.  The glass doesn't get hot.  Otherwise, I would go with a thermostatically controlled attic fan, or a pair of spinners....for starters.  If buying a new AC, the extra cost oif a 16 SEER over a 12  can be recouped in about a year....well worth it.

We are up here in Cm now, arrived today.  Looking at Land and House development called Inizio, near San Kampaeng.  Looks good.  Anyone have experience with LH?

Thanks for the comments, so far!   At least the constructive ones!!

Also looking at Malada development in Mae Rim.  Seems a bit far, but I do like being out of town a bit.

waiting to hear everyone's two cents!

    Thanks

LH is a public company.  You could get pretty good info by just getting a stock quote on LH.  They would be a relatively safe bet to get a nice house.  If you want appreciation, that will be a different story, as you won't be far from new builds in the next 30 years, as there is still ample land in the exurbs.  Some don't care.  For those, who want real appreciation, that is more likely to come in areas where the developers aren't going to pay premium land prices for a moo baan.  I would look for a beat-up townhouse or small lot, like 30 TW in the Old City, towards the west side.  Two years ago, a townhouse on the north side, right on the main road went for 7 million.  There is a very finite supply of land there.  Lower budget and still lots of potential would be Chiang Phuak....would look for higher ground.  10 years ago, it would have been Nimman....too late.

I looked at the LH models on their website, and they are upmarket, and well designed.  My parents were impressed.  It is still all about location.

  9. The old system created a problem, when I booked a ticket with American, that is mostly on Cathay....in March, it didn't matter, and even though my American ticket was fine, when I accessed it through Cathay, it only showed the first name and I couldn't change it, and neither  could the Cathay agent in the US.  So I went back to American, and they said new system, new rules.  Things do change on airlines...Now on my United ticket that also uses Thai, it combined my two given names into one and dropped the capital letter and the space.  Also heard of Air Canada denying boarding over similar issues.  Expect to hear more of this.  Personally, I am getting away from middle initial and going with full names to match passport and banks.

  10. I inquired at the Viet desk at the airport.  Spelling must be exact and match your passport.  Middle name in your passport; needs to be on your ticket.  Order of given names is not critical.  They actually ask for surname then middle and given.  According to Oxford, your given name is names other than surname.  US Passport same way...it says given name, then displays first middle.  She apologized....Air Asia told me middle was also required.

  11. Flying on Vietjet Thai, for the first time.  I have heard horror stories about people denied boarding for not having their middle names on tix, when they were on their passports. Of course, they can buy another ticker at 4x what they already paid.  In Vietnam, their passports read last, middle middle first...they have two middles.  Mine reads last, first middle....the vietjet site ask for last in the first box, then middle and first in the second box.  I entered first then middle in the second box....my printout matches my passport...did I make a mistake?  Should they change their English site?  Will it simply not matter?  And millions out there say middle name doesn't matter, but clearly, the trend is that it does.  Cathay Pacific requires it, and I just went a few rounds with AA, who acknowledged that when they got my Cathay ticket in March, it wasn't necessary, but that has now changed, so they fixed it.
