Back at you. I am simply correcting your wrong information - with facts.
Could you please provide the web link that would allow my GF to register her address for TM30 registration.

On a recent Strava challenge, there were 402 participants from Philippines, compared to 569 from Thailand.
In comparison, there were 3496 in Malaysia, and I would say cycling is very popular in Malaysia.
Given the much higher populations of Philippines and Thailand, 402 might be considered low, but not 'almost zero'.
Where in Thailand do you cycle ? Yes cycling in Malaysia is very popular ... Penang in particular - gets a bit tedious going around the island ... but several large events overall in that country ...

Good to know, and so they should. That's called progression. Why most Muslims feel it necessary to follow fashions from several hundred years ago baffles me. As far as I know there is no dress code written in the holy book.
You don't see English folk walking around in Anglo-Saxon robes.
Perhaps those I saw in Batu Ferringhi were mostly tourists then, as you say.
What you see a lot of BF is what many call (not my word) ... Ninjas ... if all in black .. with face covered ... walking with a man wearing a Manchester United top ... They are Saudi tourists...

Norwegians are under the standard visa exempt scheme.
Those from Hong Kong, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Russia and Vietnam are under a bilateral agreement.
Great :-) ... Would you know where the nearest immigration office is that I would have to go to if I need to extend for 30 days ? I will stay in Sattahip .... I assume it will be a good idea to apply for the extension 'early' ... i.e. at least a week before ...

If you enter on the standard visa exempt scheme the 30 days you get can be extended for 30 days one time. If you get the 30 days from bilateral agreement no extension is allowed.
There is not 30 day tourist visa. Tourist visas allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 day for those from most countries.
Thanks for this info ... Now I need to check if Norwegians are entering under the 30 day Visa Exempt Scheme or under the 30 days Bilateral Agreement ...
Oh ... and I better bring a blanket ... I see its rather cold in Thailand now :-) ...

OMG - is it even possible to drag this thread out any longer. I thought that matter was clear and done with after 10 posts about...

:-) .. May I ask.... if you do enter on a 30 day tourist visa ... How 'many' 30 days extensions can you apply for, before you have to leave ? Is it only one 30 day extension ?
-
ahhhh .... I have followed this ..
So basically if you enter on a non visa 30 day permit (which costs you nothing) you can not extend your stay .. but if you applied for a 30 day tourist visa (which you do have to pay for) before entering the Kingdom ... THEN you can extend your stay for 30 days ......

Please forgive my ignorance - Could you not just apply for an extension that does exists? How ever many days that might be.... ?

Route to extension of stay based on retirement questions
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Looking at the best current option to stay longer than my normal 30 day visa exempt when entering Thailand again in August - I would qualify for retirement Non Immigration visa based on retirement – But going to the Thai embassy in KL (currently working in Malaysia) just add more time and cost (I would also need medical certificate + police check from Malaysia that takes 30 days to get + copy of my birth certificate, which I no longer have here) hence
I am considering this route;
Enter on 30 day visa exempt – Immediately go to immigration and apply for an extension (30 days) – Then open a Thai bank account and deposit the required 800K (wire in the money from overseas) + extra to live on (Hence no need to touch the 800K) From a timing purpose, would this work out when I then want to extend again. i.e. this time extend for one year based on retirement ? Have the money been in the Thai bank account long enough?
Should I for any reason leave Thailand – At what point do I need the ‘re-entry permit’ – so that I do not have to start all over again when re-entering ?
Is it better to bring in cash – and get a receipt from immigration on entry to show the funds came from outside Thailand?
Would it be better to get a single entry tourist visa – so I could stay longer to allow me to get everything sorted out (i.e. how long can I stay on a single entry tourist visa + extension of stay (as tourist) – then do extension of stay based on retirement 800K.
When you are staying with a friend all the time – to show proof of accommodation – would it be enough to get a written declaration stating that fact + a copy of the Thai ID card + copy of the blue book?
I am staying in the district of Chon Buri - Hence my immigration office would be Jomtien (Physically I am much closer to Rayong, if it is possible to use immigration there ?
Thanks in advance for advice on this …
