  1. The story reported on in this does say “with the positive pressure" that would be caused by the AC so if your neighbor is leaving his door open so he can save money on not having to run his AC then there isn't much of a problem. Now if he has an open outside window with a breeze flowing through his room out into the hall spreading the virus. This all depends on if you believe everything you read.

  2. The Thai court probably will want to determine if the money sent made him a partner/investor or was it just a loan. If he was an investor/partner then I would think he is out of luck. Business's close all the time. That's part of doing business unless maybe he can prove mismanagement of the business. If this was a loan and you borrowed the money then you may have to pay him back.

26.- Brokerage or agency except in international trading.

Seems to me some of these are left to interpretation. What type of brokerage? What type of Agency? I know foreigners work for Real Estate Agencies and Business Brokerages. This labor law doesn't stop foreigners from owning but what about managing. Seems to me considering this just say you can't get a work permit for these jobs that would include managing? I know a lot of foreigners may not be doing the job but they are managing.

  4. Last I heard a foreigner cannot own land but can own a house. The land must be in a Thai persons name but the land can be leased for up to 30 years at a time legally then a new lease agreement is required. If a foreigner owns a Thai majority owned business you can own land but there is debate on if this is legal because of how the company is formed. Often the foreigner has the company formed 51% Thai and 49% foreign owned with the foreigner having control over the Thai owned portion written into the bylaws. That's why a problem may arise when trying to own land in a company name. As for your age, I don't have a clue. The best thing to do is ask a Thai Attorney.

Only rich tourists wanted! The Cheaper Charlies that built Thailand and still contribute through wife's, children and girlfriends no longer wanted.

Those here and those that do arrive, please be aware you are no longer allowed to enjoy life, or the beaches.

See sign below now posted on all the Pattaya and Jomtien Beaches.

Why is drinking alcohol a problem? Is it because people may get drunk and do stupid things like not social distance or forget their mask? I've seen this said about restaurants also so I don't really see it being an issue in a restaurant if someone wants to have a few drinks.

  6. There is a Thai law that allows companies to withhold 25% If I remember correctly which is one of the stupidest things I've heard, but it was certainly not half. If they're going to have a law like that then they need a law than cuts all payments, car, rent, food, etc. I would be interested to learn about the money someone could receive to help during this crisis as my lady friend had her salary cut 25%(5000 baht) She only makes 20k.

  7. The last thing I read on the subject when arriving in Thailand a person must quarantine in their home or hotel for 2 weeks. Government Officials would be checking. The most time that I know of for a normal tourist visa is 30 days. Why would any tourist want to quarantine in a hotel for for 14 days. That's wasted money and time in my opinion.

  8. My lady friend works in an office. Her salary was 20% less this last paid cycle yet she worked a full schedule. Apparently some of the employees have been sent home. So it seems to me the employer is twisting the law. Since they have had a partial shutdown and paying some employees to stay home they feel the employees working full time can be paid less. I guess she's lucky to be employed.

  9. Many ladies in Thailand want someone to take care of them. They have family to take care of maybe even a baby. If you learn about Thai culture you will start to see the pressure Mom and Dad put on the children to send money home. Many Thai's are dirt poor. The girls go to places like Pattaya to be prostitutes while the family turn a blind eye as long as the daughter sends home money. The thing is, ladies don't want to work for it or they do the easiest thing they can. Lazy, no skills, they think they can make a lot of money and or find a rich foreigner to "Take Care of them." They just want it given to them. There are many many stories of a foreign man falling in love with a Thai lady who gives everything to his new Thai love only for her to disappear and him lose everything. Some times it ends with him taking his own life. My lady has a job but she still needs some help because of a family commitment she made. My advice is don't look for a girlfriend that requires payment. Look for one that has a job that is not in a bar or better yet not even in places like Pattaya and certainly don't pay 50,000 baht a month. That's crazy.

  10. My situation was a bit different. I wasn't trying to stay in Thailand. I was in Thailand for holiday. Planned on staying 30 days. At about the 25 day mark I realized the company that bought my tickets for me had me flying on the 31st day. I went to the Immigration Office to ask about an extension. The Foreigner at the Information Desk at the entrance said I didn't need an extension if I was leaving on that day and I wouldn't have to pay a fine. When I went through Immigration I had to go to a desk behind the Immigration Counters. The Officer wasn't happy but She gave me another stamp said you're bad don't do it again and then let me go. No fine.

  11. Just a quick update. No charges can be filed against him at this time as no money has changed hands that is known. If someone has actually given money please let me know and I will put you in touch with my Attorney.

  12. There is a person trying to sell shares of a bar on Soi 6. Advertising on a popular website. https://www.bahtsold.com/view/shares-for-sale-in-soi-6-bar--340143

I emailed this person and was given the information. As suspected it was MY Bar. I am sure of who this person is. He's in jail at the moment for a different offense. But if he gets out and anyone tries contacting him to buy shares of this Bar I can assure you I am not associated with him, I am the full owner, and shares ARE NOT for sale.
