  1. I actually wasn't aware of that. Is that an extension that would get added on to a tourist visa or if I entered as a tourist on visa exempt?
  2. Looks like you could even just get the Multiple Entry this way too. I would still need something temporary while I gather the funds, but it's good to know you don't have to season it going this route.
  3. Thanks, there was a helpful link to a pdf in there about converting from tourist to non O. Looks like you still need the 400k to do that, but being able to come back in on a visa exempt then extending would give some time to get that together.
  4. Hi everyone. The recent changes to the financial requirements have thrown out my plans to get the 1 year Non O ME (multiple entry) marriage visa in Savannakhet/Laos. I'm not going to be able to get above 400K in the bank in time to have it sit for 2-3 months before needing to renew my visa, so here's my question: If I go outside the country (preferably Penang but will do what must be done) to just get the 90 day Non O visa, does that still have the same financial requirements? Or is the financial requirement only for getting the 12 month extension or getting the 1 Year ME visa? My hope is that I can, even though it's a pain, just leave the country to go get my 90 day single entry non o based on marriage, and give myself time to build back up the 400K (spent on building a house, always thought I'd have the Savannakhet option to fall back on. I know I know, poor planning). I took a look at the Kuala Lumpur embassy website, looks like it's doable there but seems expensive. The Penang website link is broken, and can't seem to find recent info. On quick glance Vientiane appeared doable but I'm in the south and that's a hell of a journey. Thanks for any info/ advice.
  5. Hello everyone, I've got a ME Non O by marriage, and I need to do my 90 day border bounce. Normally I do Ranong but I've since moved to Trang and I'm finding all sorts of different information about the Malay borders. I'm hoping to do my bounce at Wang Prachan...but does anyone know the latest? Do I have to pay a "fee" even though I'm not doing a border run and am not a tourist? What about this requirement of having to stay at least 1 night in Malaysia, is that for everyone or just the tourist border run folks? It seems everyone has a different experience, but I'm hoping/wondering anyone has some up to date info. Thanks
  6. Got it. So sounds like I won't need to worry since my extension of stay isn't based on working.
  7. It was extended due to marriage. I guess technically I should say I'm on a 12 month extension of my non o visa due to marriage.
  8. Hi all, I have a quick question. I have a non o based on marriage visa. It's been extended until March next year. In the last couple months I got a job with the work permit attached to that visa but the job is not working out. I know that with a non b, if the work permit is cancelled then so is the visa. Is it the same for the non o? Since the non o was obtained prior to and wasn't dependent on me working at all? Cheers for any information.
  9. In the past 2 years they didn't require it to be in during the consideration period, but like you said I'll ask them.
  10. Hello all. My non O visa is up for extension in less than 3 months. Problem is I currently don't have the 400k required , and in the past I had to show it for 3 months prior to extension, but I'm seeing some mentions of it only being 2 months. Is 2 months enough time? Or if I show at least 40k being deposited each month, how many months does that need to be for? If I can't pool the 400k in time how screwed am I? Does the fact we have a child now change anything for me? I appreciate any info or any reliable websites/reading you guys can point me in the direction of. TIA
