I have not needed a PCR test myself, but when we called the various hospitals/clinics etc for guests, the cheapest one was Samui Home Clinic in Bangrak. 077.937.288.

I do not know their opening hours.

I have also heard (but no personal evidence) that the lab that is on the ring road opposite Samui Town Centre also does cheap and quick PCR tests. (It is where some clinics send their samples to be tested.)

    Thanks, I'll check it out.

Thats just for motorbike or car insurance....

    Thanks Ryan,

I'll keep that in mind for the future but for now looking for travel insurance just incase... Most chances would probably be a motor bike accident but just had a friend get bit by a spider and has been going to the hospital every few days for a month or so to get stitches and treatments.

  3.  I currently have a million baht plan and pay about 3,000 baht per month. I bought the 90 day plan for my Thai Pass but it will soon expire. I plan on being here another 30 days so I figured I'd better be safe than sorry. I've done some searching on the internet but haven't had much luck... still waiting for the quotes be returned from the companies that I reached out to. I am 52 years old with no health issues incase it makes a difference and definitely would like to have coverage incase I get into a motor bike accident.

    Thanks

  4. Just signed up with Lazada last week and had the same problem with my US Chase card. I called and emailed them and just went ahead and uploaded the info they requested, Passport, pic of me with credit card and a statement...I received a confirmation email and now it seems to work fine. I'll do a few more purchases this week and make sure everything's ok. I tried this with Shopee but they said that they're not excepting any international cards as of now... except for a select few.

@chocolatesound1, you need to visit the Tessa Ban office in Nathon, the district office opposite the Caltex gasoline station. Google Street View link HERE, looking towards the correct entrance. The desks at left are for House Book registrations. Preferably bring someone that can speak Thai - they speak very little English - and your passport and the title deed for the property. The staff is very polite and helpful, and they will tell you the procedure, if they cannot instantly replace the house book...????

Thanks again for the info, it was a great help. Picked up a new blue book Monday.

Blue books are issued by the District Office. You will need to take your passport, the title deed and also the sale contract you received from the land office when you purchased the unit.

If there are no occupants listed in the blue book the District Office will issue a new book for a nominal fee (20 baht if I remember correctly).

If there is a house master listed in the blue book you will have to go through the process to have them removed before a new blue book can be issued.

I leave that stuff in my safe back in the US, do you know if they would except copies?

    Thanks

Maybe you have to file a police report for the missing blue book. Will of course depend on the land office.

I wouldn't be surprised. I had to do that once when I forgot to bring my bank passbook from the US. They love to do an excessive amount of paperwork here.

Blue book comes from the land office, which should have been issued by them when you purchased the place. Turn up with the chanote and your passport.

Old house books are not transferred (like car and m/c books), they are just thrown away.

I think it costs 200bht for a house book.

Ahhh, thanks! That's good to hear and makes sense.

choco , I'm sure someone  will reply , with more knowledge than me but I would  think the chanoot would be enough  to

satisfy the electricity company you are the owner .

However , if not ,  I believe  the blue book ( for expats ) has been replaced  , by a yellow book - getting one of those is a bit more complicated  in that you need to get your passport certified by your embassy etc etc .

Thanks for the response... I thought the chanoot would be good enough too but at least the lady working that day said I need the blue book. From what I understand, the blue book should be blank since I bought the condo from a foreigner. I saw how people convert their blue book to yellow which looks like a huge pain in the ass. Not sure if not having a blue book would also cause a problem if I want to install my own internet so I figured I'd look into replacing it. I'm not a resident and won't be for a few years but would like to have the utilities in my name incase it helps in the future when I do become a resident.

  10. Hi, did some searching on the internet but couldn't find anything specific to my situation.

I purchased a condo in Replay 2 yrs ago but didn't receive the blue book, the owner was in England but I forgot what the excuse was.  I was told by the realtor and the lawyer who did the transfer that it wasn't important for the sale. My manager has been paying the electric bill but I found out it is still in the old owners name at the electric company. Now that I'm finally back in Samui, I went to change the name on the account but the lady at the power company said I need the blue book. She didn't speak much English so not sure if I missed anything. My condo manager sent a email to the old owner but haven't heard back yet.  Does anyone know if it's possible to replace a lost blue book or if there's something else I should do?

    Thanks in advance.

Try Pat's bikes on the airport road. Turn into airport road opposite the Bangrak fresh market and she is about 100 metres on the right just past Green Plaza.

She does laundry, rents bikes and cars.

Or try Hieikel, the tall german guy just past, the little petrol station on the airport road. He is almost opposite, right on the bend. He buy, sells and rents bikes. Not sure what he will ask for though.

I'll definitely check these 2 out... Thanks alot!

I've been looking for the exact same thing all day and trying to understand what's needed. I've been looking at the SHA+ hotels on Booking and Agoda and have just been calling and emailing directly. I spoke with Samui Smile and they said it's 2200 for a PCR test and 200 for Airport Transportation. I'm now waiting to see from her email how to go about sending payment and receiving the certificate.

Haven't heard back yet from the other 5 that I emailed but can keep you posted.

Booked the 6500 baht package with Samui Smile. Includes everything for 2 people and already received the certificate. Again call and email directly and they will email a credit card form to fill out or you can pay with a bank transfer.

You will need to apply for your certificate of entry in Denmark. They will not issued one with a one week layover during your trip to here. You will also need to covid 19 test in Denmark 72 hours before you leave,

The 21 day requirement has been done away with since they started allowing those from all countries to go into the sandbox.

Thanks Ubonjoe, Do you think it could be possible to acquire a COE in Denmark when I will only be in Denmark for one week (5 business days)?  and if not do you know if it's possible to start the process earlier from the US online? Thanks for your help.. trying to get info from the embassies has been really tough.

  15. Hi,

I'm fully vaccinated and would like to enter through Phuket in early December. I have a wedding in Denmark in late November and will be there for 1 week. Is it possible to travel from Denmark or do I need to fly back to the US? The 21 day rule is what's confusing me. Also do I need to be in the US a full 21 days after returning from Denmark? Can I get the COE in the US, fly to Denmark for a week and back to the US and then to Phuket?   I tried calling the US embassy but no answer and email replies only said to ask the Denmark embassy.

    Thanks!

Just use Bangkok airways cargo. Especially as you're already going to be close to the airport.

Arrives normally in a matter of hours from drop off and all rates are online.

Really good value, so cheap in fact considering it's so fast.

I have used this service many times from BKK and Chaing Mai.

You need to present ID when sending by the way.

Wow! great to know about this. Do you know if the cargo station is easy to reach (walkable) from the international arrival or Departure terminal?

I think Ikea offers shipping, so you don't have to take this stuff to a post office by yourself

An alternative to Thailand Post is Kerry Express.

The 20kg for 305THB option will take about a week to arrive (they call this r-post or something like this), if you opt for EMS you pay more but will get your stuff in 1-2 days.

I'll try the EMS Thai Post since Ikea shipping down to the islands is pretty high and slow.
