Who wrote that? I missed it. You do know this a forum about Thailand, don't you? Which is why what is said here is related to Thailand. That's not too difficult to work out for most of us.

How could you miss it? It was in the post I quoted. On the Chang early today?...

Its a forum about Thailand, NOT a Thai-bashing forum. And especially when the remark was so ridiculous.

    Thanks for the chat....

he was, in fact, according to him, just stooping down to pick up an inhaler that he had dropped

That's okay then. It tells you all you need to know about Thai drivers. He put his passengers in danger by retrieving an inhaler, because that was far more important than keeping his eyes on the road. No wonder the tourist screamed, and in true Thai fashion making it someone else's fault, he blamed the tourist for reacting to his dangerous driving.

Because trying to shift blame is only a Thai thing. Jesus.... ????

Yeah, perhaps 'some' is more accurate.

I rarely see farang being nasty to Thais, but I often see farang being culturally insensitive to Thais, just yesterday saw one hugging his caddy after finishing a round,

Often see farnang touching caddies, which is totally offensive. Often see farang with inappropriate body language, raised voices etc. I guess they are new here and haven't figured out the indirect communication style yet, or 'greng jai' etc.

Totally true, ignorant but unrepentant foreigners are very often insensitive to local culture all around the world. Europeans wearing skimpy beachwear to the mall in the UAE for example. It's illegal, but security guards rarely say anything. It's usually an old local lady who will shout at them eventually.

Also I had words with a Chinese man shopping topless in Lotus Hua Hin a long while back. Not my job I know (I'll say it before the usual fools jump on me), but I was actually offended.

It has not been hushed up, following media reports it's a subject here and in other publications, for God's sake, and, if it had been hushed up, it wouldn't be in the press that the American has announced the ongoing legal action against the attacker.   How could you know that the sackings were just appeasement?

I forgot how much you like to quibble.

Do you see the name of the establishment? No. Do you see the name of the owner or manager? No. Do you see any names of those involved other than the person attacked. No. Do you see any names of the collection of other local business owners who have rallied around to close this n matter down quickly? No.

The media got a sniff of the matter but don't have these details because they have been kept quiet. Shhh.

    So just leave it, eh?

So Sad USD/Euro/THB comes into play here.  Was there any real financial damage?

American...which Country, there are about 37 Countries in the Americas.

One does not get to apply their home laws in a Foreign land.

He made an error in judgement, the Thai Bouncer over reacted...common issue in LOFS.

Thai Lawyer is the only one to come-ahead here.

And where exactly does it say he's seeking damages? It doesn't....

He's seeking justice and a lesson learned by over-zealous private security goons. ????

I think many farang feel 'less than' when they live here, possibly due to not understanding the culture, or not speaking the language. When the ego feels threatened, it lashes out, and concocts all kinds of insane stories to not feel less than.

I think the word 'many' is completely wrong. I know 'many' farang here, and I don't know one that outwardly displays any worries of inferiority (which is the word you were looking for). They all seem quite at ease in their dealings with Thais. Perhaps you meant to say 'some', and to qualify it with the fact that you're not speaking from personal wide experience of seeing farang being nasty to Thais....

Those birds are really attractive - for about 20 seconds. Then they become annoying. Compressed air pellet guns solve this. It won't kill them and are legal AS LONG AS YOU USE THE PLASTIC PELLETS and not the lethal metal ones. Works on all annoying pests, two or four legged.

You mean buy an air rifle? How could a farang legally to that? I wish I could have brought my beauty in my completely full 40' container when I moved here, it would have snuck through customs easily, but the removal company spotted it and wouldn't pack it.

Yes I think that what sort of Drugs would really be the Question, Like yes some might have been Good but well in My experience they had put me on the worst of the Anti Depressant, and my Carer Friend knew it !!! and was NOT very happy !!! ... Like the really harsh ones take over a month to get used to they say !!! Like just seems wat WAY to fatal and Serious to me. ? Maybe you drugs were better ???... Like valium !!! Highly Addictive, but well if it fixed you and then you stopped taking it !!! Well YES that would be quite a success I think. ... But well watch the Doctors !!! ... Mine was WRONG !!! Like a career Un or lowly Trained ??? ... so called "our best" Mental Health GP !!! ... Typing the stories in to his Computer !!! ... AND giving out the WRONG MEDCATION !!! ... I think !!! Like they are around you Know !!! ???

There are good doctors and average doctors, and the very rare bad doctor, I agree. They're under huge pressure too. My doc had a breakdown, he was a sweet guy, and sad to say, actually maybe too empathetic to be a GP.

As I said, we're all different people, who respond to drugs in different ways. It's bad that you had a bad experience, but you do know that every drug has potential side effects, right? Don't allow a drug to enter your system unless you know the potential downside and are ready for it if it happens. Doctors aren't magicians and they don't have crystal balls. They just do their best.

My wife takes cocktails of drugs for her cancer. Sometimes they change. But we look out for the potential side effects and tell the oncologist if there's a problem so we can change the medication. It's a matter of taking some responsibility for your own treatment.

Good luck in the future ????????

... Though Well ??? ... Anti Depressants just made me Worse for me !!! ... (<Jeezz>, those Little <deleted> pills CAN <deleted> up your physical Head Feeling, up physically well being ??? ... Like making you Cry internally, ... Physically !!! A LOT Also !!!) ...

It was Only ... 1. a Good Doctor who Fixed me up in Hospital, ... and 2. a Bloody Good, non practicing Bosnian Muslim Former Refugee, who decided that, becoming a Drugs and Alcohol Councilor, was a better option than spending the rest of his Life in Goal, (For Attacking Serbs I guess ???) ... That really saved me !!!  ... The best Councilor that I have ever had !!! though well ??? The only one also. ... ...E.G. ??? Just start off with a good Doctor ? ... for the Physical, ...  and then get a Good Councilor to get better after the Physical problems are fixed up ? Well on their way to being I guess. ??? ...

Mark mark ... Totally in experience in any thing to do with mental Health !!! ... Other then actually having been there my self.

I typed a long deep reply which my phone has lost. ????

The following is more terse, but not meant in any harsh way.

Your style of writing definitely displays an excitable, volatile nature. I am not like that. Calm, always seen as quiet and funny but well-adjusted, maybe even boring (I don't know you so I'm NOT saying you're the opposite). 30 days of drugs cured my mood. I had no 'physical' problems, as is the same for many/most who need a TEMPORARY mood stabiliser.

    I hope you're well.

Mens sans in corpore sano., ????????
