  1. Wow what a load of rubbish Thai Vehicles are made of inferior steel Just in case you have not been out of Thailand for 30 years You will see these vehicles all over the world including USA,UK,Europe Australia just to mention a few And you really think the Japanese would be allowed to export them No way.I think you will find that most deaths and injuries in Thailand are caused by not wearing seatbelts , high speed and lack of driving skills and not maintaining the vehicles properly nothing to do with the vehicles,Drive Safely....

  2. Whats wrong with these people.

If it was not for the expats a lot of business would be lost in Thailand

If it was not for expats a lot of business would be lost in Thailand What a load of crap Do you really think that expats add a lot to Thailands economy Maybe the beer bars in Pattaya or Bangkok but not to Thailand in general Not even 1% so dont think Thailand would be worse of without its expats.

  3. I took my putor to a repairs place Tucom, 3rd floor, up the elevator, right and then left, straight ahead, on the right, they just about stripped the thing bare, memory, cheap motherboard added, etc etc. Cost me 5000 to get another place to put it back the way it was when I took it in. Ive been told they do it all the time, and change thier name every 6 months or so.

Which shop was this? It would be helpful if you had the name as Tukcom is full of computer repair shops.

I've always gone to Pattaya2u and never had any problems... I haven't had to get a computer repaired for about a year and a half though, as the computer I bought from Pattaya2u 1.5 years ago is still running perfectly, best computer Ive ever had.

I agree Pattaya 2u Has been there since Tukcom opened,I have bought many components there and always had good service,I also have mates who have bought computers there on my recomendation and never had any complaints Give them a try and i am sure you will not be disapointed.

  4. Where is the best golf range in Pattaya? I want to practice my chipping and putting really

The best place i find for practicing my short game is the Pattaya Asia Hotel in Soi 4 South Pattaya,What they have is a 9 hole par three course and also a nice practice area for bunker shots and pitching and putting Cost you around 350 Baht for all day Good luck Robbie...

  5. Does anyone know where and how to apply for the new driving licence.

Do you have to wait for the old one to run out first.

I don't think it's done at the normal transport office, but I stand to be corrected.

If you are applying for a new Thai driving licence Then you need a Letter from immigration and two photos You do not need a doctors certificate if you are renewing your licence. You can apply 1 month before your old one runs out,The thing that puzzled me was you need two photos one for the application form and the other who knows,And then they take a photo themselves to put on your licence Seemed a bit strange but TIT GOOD LUCK....

  6. I also use The Box to download UK TV and find it excellent. I can also recommend UK Nova (www.uknova.com), but I just checked and their registrations are closed. They don't issue invitations so you have to keep checking until you find registrations are open. It's worth the effort though, as I find their torrents download much faster than The Box.

    cheers Wontok

Hello Wontok,I use UK Nova as well as the Box They are both excellent sites,What i do is upload all the programs i want to watch on to Utorrent at night and let them download while i sleep,Then i watch them in the following evening Normally i watch about 4 hours of TV that i want to see not all that repeated stuff on UBC True visions,I am going to give My Private Network a try for a month to see if it is any good,If it works it will be well worth a fiver a month,If anyone out there is using this site please let us have the lowdown on it Thanks Robbie...

  9. OK Any information if I can get a increase to my UK state Pension based on my Marriage

Was married in the UK Jan 2008 I was told by the Pension Service that I could get a increase to my state Pension. It was not means tested and was based on my Contributions. I also told them that my wife was in Thailand

They sent me a form to fill in and I sent it back in May 2008 shortly after my wife had Returned to Thailand

( She was in the UK on a 6 month visa to get married )

I was asked to send her original birth cert and marraige cert. They came back after about 3 weeks.

Made a number of Phone calls to the Pension Service before I came back to join my wife in Sept. Just told sorry we are very busy, But not to worry your claim will be backdated.

Since I have been back in Thailand I have wrote Twice and told them I wont be back in the Uk untill May, and gave them my address in Thailand

    no replies to my mail

Tonight I rang them again and got A rather snoty Lady, Who said That my wife would have to be in the UK and have A National Ins No for her

Not What I was told when I made the original enquiry. Was told could claim for her on my contributions

I was not asked for wifes NI No it was Not on the form Told her to look at the form I sent Bac

Gues what they have lost it. They also asked if I was staying perminantly in Thai I said NO just visiting

Can it be obtained or am I peeing in the wind. Anybody out there getting it

Well all i can say is i claimed for an increase in my pension in 2008 because i am married to a Thai who is not living in the UK and i got the increase with no problems at all,They never said anything about NI Number as it was not asked for on the form as you know,I just sent all the papers they asked for and no problem,It took a little over three months to get it but it was back dated,My aplication was made from my address in Thailand,Just hang in there it is your right to get the proper pension,Just like all of us we have paid all our working life to get it,Good luck, Robbie.

  10. AH!!Got it,Well the photo in the paper is not the real photo,What you see is a Thai male who was arrested last year for playing cards But when they searched him they found a bunch of fake credit cards and not playing cards so they just let him go with the fake cards,What happened to the Korean,Well when they got him back to the police station he asked to go to the bathroom and the last time they saw him was on Swampy airport security cameras doing a bit of shoplifting before he got on his flight home.Amazing Thailand...
