  1. Hi all, my wife's son works near Chiang Rai and she wants to visit him there later this year; in addition, she wants to pop across the border to Myanmar for a brief visit (returning to Thailand the same day). WHat is the nearest border crossing fro, Chiang Rai? and how easy is it to get a visa on arrival or do I (UK passport need to get a visa in advance? Similarly does my THai wife need to get a visa in advance?

Due to a stroke 2 years ago, I am now disabled though I do have limited mobility.

    Thanks.

You don't need to be in the U.K. to file a will. Select a U.K. lawyer and it can be done from here.

Correct, but please be very careful if doing a UK Will, that you don't inadvertently revoke your Thai Wil. It's very easily done. Also your UK Will should specify that it on;y relates to your assets in the UK or outside Thailand.

There was no requirement to do 90 day reporting, but I believe

it was a law, they did not seem so paranoid where you were and

what you were doing, but before leaving the country you had to

do a tax report, which was a joke,as all they required was 200 or

    300 THB,

    regards worgeordie

I've been here 13 years and there has always been a requirement to report my address every 90 days since I last entered the country

    ( at Jomtien).

It makes a difference for the internet banking. Especially if your passport has expired. It happened to me. I was not able to login. I called the bank and they told me I need to update my passport informations to be allow to access my account online. Also, for the bank book.

Thank you to all kind responses so far. Obviously I will contact my lawyer to write this all up properly in due time, I am stage 4 C and must prepare so make it easier on friends and family. So, "forgiving that debt/mortgage" would hold up? I will also instruct my trusted brother who

is the main heir and will receive all residual Estate about my wishes separately. Anybody have experience with such a specific case? How detailed does it need to be written down, spelled out? Any danger the probate court does not understand, I guess the administrator is the final "force", but will the Land-Office act on his behalf and revoke that mortgage. Sorry, about the many questions, but this all comes to mind preparing for what is to come. Thank you and nice weekend.  MS>

Simoly bequeath any balance outstanding on the mortgage to he person you lent the money?
