Lou, Did they confirm to you by phone or is it on the internet someplace?
3 minutes ago, Liverpool Lou said:Phayathai 2 sent me an email confirming the booking but I had emailed them to ask what the vaccine was. I don't know whether that prompted the email confirmation or whether it would have come anyway.
Thanks Lou I just registered got Aug. 14 10:30 that makes me very happy. I am overweight and high blood pressure. Again thanks so much. Good luck to you guys and girls.

Please stop the madness. They can not re-open until Thailand had at least 50% of the country vaccinated. All you have to do is look at America they are at these levels and now everything is opening to full crowds "Baseball Games" are now at 100% capacity. This is unbelievable compare to last year. The Chief Idiot Trump wanted to open last year while people were dropping dead everywhere. The Sinovac is effective but not on the variant. It is possible for vaccinated people to become infected with Covid a vaccine breakthrough it is called. I am over sixty and overweight if I get it would be very serious for me. I think I am going to lay low hope for the best and maybe wait for the Pfizer Shot. Also on a sad note there are millions of doses of the J&J vaccine in America going to waste. There is no demand at all and they are just going to waste can someone maybe call America? Stay Safe All

Just read the article were Siam Bio is behind in schedule for manufacturing the AZ vaccine for there shipment to the Philippines. They had ordered 1.7 million doses it said they will receive 1.4 million. That is for 2 months so double that to 2.8 million doses not going to the Thai people? How can they ship the very needed vaccine out of the country? Just stirring the pot here.

Last year it was reported that the same rules of treatment apply to foreigners as to Thais. I asked in a forum a couple of days ago if this had indeed ever been the case, or still was the case, or if anyone has any official information (nothing so far), and I would even be happy to hear anecdotal accounts from members or about people they know or have heard of.
That being said, Kaiser will reimburse me for anything they agree was an emergency, and beyond that my asset class would suggest I'm not being unreasonable to consider myself self-insured. But beyond that I would readily extend the small policy I bought here last year, even at my advanced age, but would like to have the whole picture first. Thanks to anyone attempting to address this issue.
The only problem with your plan is thinking Kaiser will agree on the facts that you had an emergency. I had kaiser before until the Doctor who had promised me a %100 outcome said afterward medicine is Hocus Pocus Voodoo. I then called the Teamsters to demand I switch my medical in the middle of the year. I was granted my own doctor plan just had to pay more well worth it. They make money not seeing you not by treating you. Best of Luck

I'm currently in Phuket, probably the best place to be at the moment, I have even extended my stay. All the survival businesses are open and operating normally. Incredibly cheap and enjoyable. Personally I wouldn't cancel.
Hey Joe thanks for the update. The hotel says no refund only change days. I am going to go and roll the dice. It is only a week. Famous last words maybe.

I have already paid for my Hotel and Air Fare. I have 2 rooms for me and my wife and daughter. Staying Hilton Patong Beach. I need feedback on whether to go or not. My mind is not right. Is it possible we could get stuck in Phuket that would not be good. I am going to call hotel about cancellation policy. Please be Kind.

I'll hold me breath and see what happens first. Me dying of lack of oxygen or me obtaining a Covid-Stimulus-Check.
I know which will happen and which will not. You're not getting diddly-squat from your Congress.
Don't plan on it. I wrote Congressman and Senators earlier this year. The Congressman and one Senator ignored me. The one Senator who commented back essentially said, "So sad, too bad for you. Nothing I can do. Boo Hoo." <now shut up and go away>. It was a rather condescending and pathetic letter. What is your Point? The only message here is about the new change and the fact that a bad mistake was finally rectified. I thought that the first round was a lost cause and it did not make ant sense but I will gladly take the $1800. It will make up for the money I sent to my son in America. Stay on Topic

Think this bill is veto-proof?
So assume trump is either out of touch, or hoping for some sort of support from his fans for being a "fighter" for them?
I still don't understand the nuances mentioned in this thread...
not sure I'm following? Can you expand or provide a link which might explain? Is this change in how the payment is delivered? Or is it that some married people may be eligible for additional payments?
Regarding the first stimulus payment, for those who were eligible and did not receive their payment you will be abe to claim that on your 2020 1040 on Line 30, Recovery Rebate Credit, as a tax payment, and then take it as a refund.
Yes I can elaborate a little for you. The new bill lets a married couple filing jointly where one spouse has a SSN and the other does not they have an ITIN number instead. This time the person with the SSN gets the rebate check and the spouse receives nothing. The first rebate if you were married filing jointly no one received anything. Now at least the spouse gets something. And it is retroactive to the First Rebate so you will get a credit also on your 2020 Taxes. I am getting my information from The New York Times. Hope this helps.

Just want to point out that British style English is more dominant in Thailand and some Americans in Thailand pick up some British usages. I use bloody as an American partly to be ironic. I've noticed that spot on has now been widely adopted even in the U.S. It goes the other way too with Brits using Americanisms.

Richest country in the world and the bloody cheapest. Combined with the other 1,200 dollars it’s not even two thousand dollars. Pathetic. Germany gave something like 70 percent of income. USA a pittance. And the Congress men and women vote themselves big pay raises in the middle of the night. <deleted>#%ing Scum. Wake up America.
First of all this post was to let Americans in Thailand know that there was a change in the new Stimulus Payments. Full Stop. Not to be hijacked by some English guy with a grudge. I wont mention your high gas prices and bad dental. There was quite a buzz on Thai Visa last time over who got there Rebate and who did not. A lot of people where worried about if there address was in Thailand would they get a check this and that. I personally got robbed when I filed jointly with my Thai wife and she used a ITIN. So this good news for Some.

Unless things change my recent reading was the only way to claim credit on tax would be to file separately (losing $12,400 deduction). Also read anyone with spouse having ITIN would still not be eligible for new payment (this was on a tax preparation web site this week). Hope you are right.
Update: have just found this new information - so if true may indeed allow us to get check and make claim.
"Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio and North Carolina Republican Sen. Thom Tillis “applauded” the inclusion of mixed families in their legislation Monday evening.
“This measure will ensure that a U.S. citizen is eligible to receive an Economic Impact Payment (EIP) if he or she is married to a foreign national who is not currently a citizen of the United States,” they said, noting that the inclusion will apply retroactively as a refundable tax rebate and that “eligibility is also included for the next round of EIPs.”

Hello everyone I was just reading some info from the NY Times. They say that this time if you are married and filing Jointly and one person has a SSN and the other does not they have a ITIN for example you will get the $600 this time. Also it is retroactive for the $1200 payment in the spring. You will be able to claim a credit on your 2020 Taxes. Looks like some good news for once after that last disappointment. Please feel free to let me know if I am wrong lol. Best of Luck to all for a better New Year.

The red songtheaws are share taxis. Have to haggle and probably lose. If want to get somewhere in a hurry have to pay for sole occupancy ( minimum 200 baht ).
Restaurants were never a problem- thousands of them, but now????? Just see if they look OK- everyone probably has favourites. Mine was Gekko.
LOL. Good luck with that.
Get a package van tour to Inthanon.
Can get songtheaw from near the zoo to go up the hill to Suthep. No need to pay a tour agent.
If want to go in Summer Palace need to dress properly.
Don't bother with the zoo, IMO.
This place is amazing.
Mae Ping River Cruise
from Wat Chai Mongkhon.
Night Safari is OK
Thanks a lot

Okay and because something "is like it is", I need to accept that? If everyone would be like you, we would never have any progress for the people.
But anyway, I did not came here to discuss why I can't wear a mask. In almost every country people with brains see the problem that several people can't wear a mask and need a medical letter for exemption.
And have fun with the wet air you breath in through the mask with your fungal spores in your lung. But just because you like to sacrifice yourself for senseless rules, don't put that on anyone with a medical condition.
Snivel Snivel Snivel are you sure you are not Bi-polar and off your medicine??

I have not received any Stimulus Payment To my Bank in America. Now I have been reading that if you filed jointly with your Thai wife and she has an ITIN you do not get a refund. Only if you are in the military. Anyone have any wisdom on this?? Really seems screwed up.

Just wondering if any Americans with a Thai Address on there taxes received a Stimulus Check yet. My son in America got his yesterday. Stay Safe

The reason "Funds for long term stay in Thailand" was created by TW because of the need of the FTT bank code for expats. That reason must be used to be sure you're getting correct code when banking with Bangkok Bank.
Thank you for for making that clear. Thanks Peter also I had read that in your post. One less worry now.

New Study on Pfizer and Astra Zenaca vaccines they are stronger than thought.
in Central Thailand
Posted
I just read an article today from Reuters on a new study worldwide on Pfizer and Astra Zenaca. Pfizer is 93.7% effective against the Alpha Variant and 88% effective against the new Delta Variant. The Astra Vaccine is now 74.5% effective against the Alpha Variant and 67% against the Delta Virus. It looks like the Astra Zenaca Vaccine which is what we have mostly here in Thailand is a pretty good vaccine compared to the Sinovac which is a waste of money. My Thai wife went over to Thammasat Hospital today she got her jab at 1:30 today Astra Zenaca. She had signed up last week also my step-daughter who is a student received her jab 2 weeks ago Astra also. I have an appt. for Med-Park next month also Astra so I am happy to get some protection. It seems like there are more choices now for Jabs. Stay Safe all
