Not to mention the 95 kms to get there....
-
That's a good map, explains why I missed it, I just rode through on my bike, had to concentrate on the bumps and not hitting anything so was difficult to search around.

Is this place in the car par park or what. Is it upstairs.
I dunno. -
Well I went today to look, and followed ur red line into the underground park, went all around to the exit and saw no sign of an immigration office.
The open area on the left is all blocked off with men working there.

Thank you kindly.
Lets hope it ain't permanent.

Parking a bike at Central is a nightmare.
If I go to Tops I have to get there before 9 am and if there is space put the bike right outside the front entrance, when it isn't blocked off with tape and metal barriers. How far is the Immigration from the front entrance ?

What are you buying from lazada ( 5 packages you say ) that you can't buy in regular shops or stores?

A state pension every 28 days will not arrive on a Friday every month, how can it when there are 28,29,30 or 31 days in a month. Nonsense.

I thought the £ might go up with this news - no such luck.

Can't say I have heard of a primary account holder. Presumably there must be a subsidiary account holder. Makes no sense.

I enjoyed his posts immensely. He came across as essentially a very nice guy.

My wife is helping a friend today who was blanked by Immigration trying to extend her tourist visa, she now has a letter showing her employment and has gone to Chiang Rai as Maesai is closed.
Immigration can be helpful one minute and unhelpful the next, you never know.

With the way petrol is going up 46 baht per litre for 95, I would suggest you budget for 500,000 very soon, and nobody gives a toss where it comes from.

I think that was a pannier box.

You have to go to an Immigration Office for the first registration after a new passport, and thereafter will be able to do online. That is my understanding.

My bike weighs 130 Kg ( a simple sports bike ), his bike is over 200 Kg plus his body weight 70 - 85 Kg and that impact looks pretty heavy. Has to be doing a minimum of 80 - 120 Kmh.

Well, I'll never know why it took so long, but it has arrived. All I see on my SCB statement is X1 and ENET channel which basically means stuff all.
Thanks for your input everybody.

Yeah, the message once I transferred from HSBC was have received ur, it will be paid out on Monday and I will receive it on Tuesday. I was fine with that.
How do I phone them?
Is this the number +44 20 3695 0999 · Customer Service UK and is it free?

I always select long term stay in Thailand, not that it makes any difference. Anyway the Thai law regarding transfers happened January 7th, and it only permits transfers of 50,000 + to Kasikorn, Bangkok and SCB.
I transferred £3000 on the 11th January - no problem.

On Friday I transferred £7000 from HSBC UK to Wise for transfer to my SCB baht account here in Thailand, but as of today the money has still not arrived. All I see in Wise is
Your money's taking longer to pay out
Sorry for the wait — we need a bit more time to process your transfer. We'll keep you posted.
Should I be concerned?
Is there a maximum that SCB allow to be transferred, I have only done multiple transfers before nothing higher than £3000. All were OK.
So this is unusual.

I did mine recently in Chiang Rai, can't see how the requirements would be any different.
Can't remember anything too onerous other than having to see an eye doctor to prove that I had some eyesight, that was 500 baht for a 10 minute consultation. They put some kind of mark on ur driving licence if there are some visual difficulties, so trying to cover up my useless eye with sunglasses or similar was never going to work.
A letter of residence I think I needed from immigration, that was quick and easy for 200 baht.

My mistake, yeah obviously it is 1GB down and 500MBs or so up.
Do we need to nitpick over the details, Duh.....

I haven't seen any police stops on the roads for 2 years.
Carabao beer in Pattaya?
in Pattaya

I was very impressed with Singha Reserve, shame about the price of it, and my local beer wholesalers don't sell it anyway.
Have got me a bottle of the Carabou lager to taste later today, but after reading above I am not hopeful.
