The easiest way to peel a hard boiled egg is to tap and break the pointy end of the egg, that allows air inside and releases the egg from the shell, thus making it easier to peel. Crush or crack the remainng unbroken shell and peel. No running water required. I do this with duck eggs which are much harder to peel, and it works a treat.

Extension of stay - NON-O / Thai wife
OneeyedJohn replied to RutNL's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
May I ask why the wife has to be with you, is it purely to sign all the copies, apart from that I see no reason. -

OneeyedJohn replied to PST's topic in Phuket

My wife had the Sinopharm 3 weeks ago and yesterday had the AZ second dose, and today she feels awful, aching body and sleepy, so unlike her, it has to be the vaccination. The vax people yesterday said different people will react differently, but I don't like seeing her like this.

Have you always been so grumpy? Don't bother, it's rhetorical. -
Retirement with just under 800K
OneeyedJohn replied to OneeyedJohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yep, a few years back when I didn't realise how weak the pound was, I allowed my bank balance to drop such that over the 3 month period of having a combination of money and transfers I was a few piddly baht short for less than 10 days. I was refused. -
Are there any easily available drugs for Premature Ejaculation?

The nurses just give it a hard tap with a pen, that stems your excitement momentarily. -

I asked the missus if she would lend me 50K for 5 months, she nearly took my head off..... -
Retirement with just under 800K
OneeyedJohn replied to OneeyedJohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That answers my question, thank you Joe. If anyone wants to loan me 30K for 5 months and save me printing 24 sheets of A4 paper on my printer then please message me. -
Retirement with just under 800K
OneeyedJohn replied to OneeyedJohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My question was what if I only have around 760K, the paperwork I understand, have done it many times and I can deal with it. The snarky comment I replied to was unneccessary. -
Retirement with just under 800K
OneeyedJohn replied to OneeyedJohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If I am totally honest then YES, making multiple copies of stuff they have had for many years is a burden, and I don't mind admitting it. Happy ? -
Am currently on a marriage extension, but am fed up with the extra hassle, 2 copies of everything, dragging the missus along to get a new KorRor 22, so If I turn up with bank proof of around 760K and proof I have transferred money from abroad but not on a monthly basis, how do you think they will react.

I use Wise sending pounds to Wise via online banking with HSBC in UK, and Wise convert to Thai Baht and send it to my SCB a/c. So the process is login to Wise , tell them how much, they give you an a/c to transfer pounds to them, login to HSBC and do the transfer, it usually reaches them instantly, that's it. The baht arrive in less than 24 hours usually.

Extension of stay based on retirement

Yeah, I'm surprised the IO didn't ask what his moniker was on this forum. -
Extension of stay based on retirement
OneeyedJohn replied to Opossum's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
When I was on retirement 3 years ago and changed to marriage I got the distinct impression that changing back to retirement in the future would not be that easy. I spent some money reducing my 800K, but anticipated it would recover. ( my personal finances ) We shall see ( Immigration's attitude ) -
Nah, if u saw all the big blue bins the rubbish people put on the side of roads in our village and then saw the mountains of overflowing garbage villagers manage to pile up in and around them between collection days on Tuesday and Friday it would take ur breath away. It's quite disgusting. It's so bad I am close to finding somewhere else to live, but that ain't easy.

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2021)
OneeyedJohn replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I always enjoy " To Be Continued " after an episode in a series when I am binge watching. It normally means a very good story. Chicago PD used to do it occasionally, always good.
