I read a article here that the test & Go was going to resume the 1st of February. But when I go to the US web site in LA it will not let me sign up for it. I will let me sign up the AQ for 7 days. Does anyone have any info on this

There is a law office across the street from the American Embassy called TSL (David Lam) he can fix it without leaving the country. same thing happened to me my first time out because I didn't know about the reentry requirement

I was going through LA customs today on my way back to Thailand. After I walked through the metal detector staff pulled me to the side and wiped my hands with small alcohol pad and put it into a machine. Does anyone know what that is for? I have been flying a lot of years never seen this

It would be a big mistake for anyone to come to Thailand now to retire.
Same as the election in the US but where is a man to live

I am in a little different boat. I was on disability in the US and when I turned 62yo they made me take early retirement. I was stationed in Thailand for 2 years when I was in the military. So when they forced retirement on me I moved to thailand. I had $80,000 saved and about $1,500 a month I have been living here now for 4 years quite nice on my pension. As long as you stay out of the bars and limit your self to the beautiful women here you will be ok

I couldn't stand being locked in a hotel room for 2 weeks. Even one with a private balcony or patio. Not to mention the terrible food that I've read about.
With the sandbox, you can walk around, go to the beach, eat where you like, see other people, etc. The rates I've seen are quite good. Excellent deals right now.
I believe you can now transit via Singapore? And flights are now operating from there to Bangkok and other places in Thailand.
As for insurance, I'm getting mixed messages on what's required. Seems different consulates are requiring different policies.
I am in the US now and returning to Thailand the 2nd week of October. I got my COE through the LA embassy took 3 days no problem so far. I have a re-entry permit 90 days Insurance confirmed flight and a ASQ hotel in Pattaya. Beach Rd and Soi 1 I checked out the hotel before I went to the US and it was not to bad 35,000 baht 15 days all meals pick-up at the airport and 3 PCR tests. This hotel is about 2km from my Condo and the hotel is going to arrainge transpo.

I am in the US now and returning the middle of October I'm waiting on my COE but having a hard time getting any information

Yes, maybe no problem for Thai autorities, but what about the embassy ? they need a document which attests you are not married already ( and you are, even with the same person ), and MFA will do nothing if they don't have the embassy's paper
There is a Lawyer across the street from the American Embassy TSL the lawyers name is David Lam talk to him. I had some problems getting married here in Thailand and he fixed everything

Got my booster 2 days with really no side effects. just felt a little down but thats all. first dose was AZ and the 2nd and 3rd were Pfizer. My doctor and all the staff at MedPark were great coundn't have asked for better care. Now if they will just open the bars I will be OK

I was given the same white piece of paper once for the AZ dose and then at a different hospital I got the Pfizer dose and neither paper had the RED seal stamped on them

I attempted to make reservation for a ASQ hotels in Pattaya I filed all the information they required 4 days ago and have not got a response back yet. Same with the COE I applied 4 days ago and give them all the information and no reply yet. As anyone been through this process and maybe give me a pointer or two

I received a dose of the Pfizer vaccine the other day and the medical worker that issued the vaccine took it from a normal refrigeration unit. I was reading something about this vaccine was suppose to be stored in a special cold storage unit. I didn't have any side effects from the vaccine but I am just inquiring if anyone else came across this

I am going to the US next week and decided not to go the sandbox route. I found a ASQ hotel here in Pattaya for 28,000 Baht for 14 days 3 meals a day and 3 PCR tests and pickup from the airport. I thought that wasn't to bad so I am just going to go the ASQ route here in Pattaya plus after all of the reviews about the sandbox it didn't sound like a good deal. everyone stay safe because Covid is not going nowhere I think its here to stay

What's your final destination in the US? More towards the east coast or west?
I am flying from Doha to LA I live about 40 miles west of the city

I am returning to the US in a few weeks and booked a ticket on Qatar airlines. It was actually one of the best flights I could find but it seems to me that it is going the wrong way. BKK to Doha is going the wrong way. I usually fly to HK or Taiwan but there flights right now did not serve my needs.

I am going to the US next month and one of the requirements for a COE is a "Fit to Fly" or "Fit to Travel" certificate does anyone know what this is

You got a first jab of AstraZeneca and then received an appointment for a second of AZ. But instead of waiting for the second AZ jab you decided to use a program intended for those who had not received any vaccination at all and get yourself a Pfizer jab. That is how you arrived at your dilemma. Ignoring the rules and doing things your own way. If you had simply waited to receive your scheduled second AZ jab you would not be in this situation. You would be able to go to the US and return to Phuket through the Sandbox as you would have been fully vaccinated with AZ. So I agree you now have a dilemma but it's one of your own making.
Just a small bump in the road my friend. I am retired and have nothing but free time on my hands and life goes on. The out come could have been a lot worst ain't nothing but a thang. I am ready for things to return to normal

It's strange how it works out, reading this thread I get the distinct feeling that those who were patient and trusted that the vaccination program would commence in Pattaya will end up getting fully vaccinated quicker and with a lot less hassle than the more outspoken contributors to this thread who sought out the earliest possible solution elsewhere.
From your story you seemed to have gone quite a complicated route that you thought was in your best interests.
I am still alive and I don't have Covid that's the bottom line and that's all that matters at this point everything else was worth the trouble.

And without proper vac card or documents you can't return under the sandbox program.
Yes I understand that so I might have to get 2 more doses in the US to receive the vaccination card. I am going to talk to the doctor at the VA hospital for recommendations. If they will not except the paper work I have from the hospitals here. The CDC is recommending a third dose.

I am American and I used to live in LA. What a <deleted> hole now. California used to be nice back in the day but now no way. I couldn't survive in the US on my pension that why I moved to Thailand. Every country has there good and bad. They are going to bury/burn me here in Thailand because no way in hell would I move back to the US. Been here 6 years and i'm staying here. I was stationed here for 2 years at Utapao and loved it but Thailand has changed with the times too.
