As above enter and leave LOS on the Thai passport, Denmark on the Danish passport.

    Also.

Never, ever show both passports to an immigration official (or any official for that matter) some can be rather, er, enthusiastic. A mate had his (perfectly legal) second UK passport confiscated by a Malaysian policeman when he produced the wrong one at a night-time check.

The only time you may need to show both passports is to a check-in clerk who is doing their job properly and verifying you have the right of entry at the other end.

I tried to check-in at swampy using the wrong passport and the nice lady spotted I had no Thai entry stamp, a hasty rummage produced the right passport and a reminder to be more careful in future (see above).

Illegal to confiscate a passport from another country.

He or she should have gone direct to consulate or embassy

    I live in Perth.
    I used the "Sydney list"
Bound everything with one of those binder thingy's from Officeworks $3.00
Sent to Canbera in "Platinum bag" from OZ Post.
Put a paid up "platinum bag" for return postage.
    Process took 5 working days

Sent flowers to the fantastic Thai Lady who seemed to answer all calls.

    YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.
    Mal

Well done for rewarding the fantastic thai lady who assisted you.

Thai people deserve far more praise for their efforts in thailand and overseas.

Fantastic, forgiving, helpful and polite people despite some  ( not all ) of the disrespectful, ignorant and downright rude foreigners they encounter on a daily basis.

mine is absolutely full of visa exempt and extension stamps. Never had an issue. I just line up at the Thai entry line with my Thai partner and always just pass straight through. I like to keep money in my passport for emergencies or Songkran social club donations. Haha only joking, no need to donate anything. Funny how most passengers on the planes I arrive on are dressed in shorts, t-shirts and jandels. No self respecting Thai flys without some effort to look tidy and maybe its seen as a little disrespectful in many Thais and maybe the immigration officials put up a little show of their displeasure harassing those who disrespect Thai values. After numerous checkins over the years I can honestly say the airport officials treat me always with respect. I've been to numerous immigration offices for extension and always found immigration polite and helpful and always issued a new extension for 1900baht.

    Excellent and very honest post.

Yes you can retire to Thailand like many people have done before you.

There are many options but my first step would be (and was)to get a tourist visa and just travel around for awhile.

Do you like the beach?A lot of choices.Like the nightlife or not?again a lot of choices.

Just come over and have a nother look around and find out about the things you really like.I was living in France before i came here and that was a few years ago and i would not go back there.

You may get a lot of tips from other expats here but in the end it is al up to you.To me it was worth it and i like where i am now.

    Very very sound advice

Apparently not enough to keep loads of foreigners from getting into the country (by land border crossings???) and later getting arrested for illegal entry in the series of raids that Big Joke and his police minions have been having in BKK lately.

Swampy and DM aren't the only entries into the country.

You mean like in usa, oz, god knows how many european countries.

  6. I have to say how awful it must be to find oneself in such a situation.

A golden rule for me whenever I have or do travel is that unless it was somebody I would trust with my life ( ie lifelong friend or close blood relative ) I would never risk entrusting my passport with anyone.

I realise 'needs is needs must' etc but I would exercise extreme caution before considering the agent option.
