The fact that the car uses batteries is not relevant in my opinion. I think the blame lies with the computer.

And if bugs remain in software the right set of events can lead to failure.

Electrically, ICE vehicles have the ABS pump and control module to handle. EV's throw regenerative braking into the same mix adding one more control function to the braking system logic.

Terrified M62 driver speaks out following claims Jaguar suffered 'electrical fault' as he was 'unable to brake'

Drama unfolded after the Jaguar I-PACE vehicle, according to police, malfunctioned on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway towards Eccles yesterday afternoon (Wednesday). The vehicle, it is claimed, reached speeds of 90mph before police used specialist tactics to ram it and bring it to a halt.

There was a similar case a few months ago with a MG ZS EV also unable to brake

Easy now, the confused emojis are already running rife.

You got to keep it real simple.

Three days already and zero food or water.

We have many stray cats in our compound where in the past some have survived what looked like a severe case of flu.

Very important the cat is drinking, if it refuses force using a syringe. Remove any discharge from around eyes, mouth and nose, keep in a quiet place away from other cats.

  4. A serviced apartment building near to us has banned EV charging in the car park located directly below the apartments at ground level. My brother-in-law who provides services to this building was asked to disconnect several wall sockets in the parking area and erect warning signs. The building insurers were communicating with the owners about this along with complaints about trip hazards created by cables charging electric scooters.

It's quite understandable that insurers would want to reduce risk from vehicles parked within a building structure knowing that some are extremely difficult to extinguish when on fire. I guess risk assessment for EV's on charge is still in its early stages.

  5. Above ground tank cleaning

Our product wash supply tanks are cleaned three times a year using strong chlorine and brush. To make this an easy task all pipe connections are fitted with barrel unions which allow the tank to be quickly disconnected tipped on its side for cleaning and upside down to drain and rinse.

    PVC inline barrel union.

Pressure vessels that are "open" are no longer pressure vessels.

On the basis you haven't explained it very well I will take your word for it. In the tech manual the item is referred to as the air control assembly and it was my understanding the bladder did something similar with air in the tank.

I have a multitude of pumps but never come across one with a bladder, but going by the rhetoric on here they must be very common.

By open vessel I am referring to there being no isolation (bladder) between the compressible air pocket and the water.

The air control assembly as it is called injects air into the tank. The item is made up of several components which is why it is called a control assembly. Control is used in the naming of this device because it keeps the level of air in the pressure tank under control.

The compact house pump range use pre charged pressure vessels with isolation bladder rather than a large tank with air pocket below the pump.

Example pre charged bladder tank used on compact pumps.

There is no bladder in the tank anymore.  The function has been replaced by a control unit, funny looking item near the pressure switch( Item 16 on the drawing". Had to replace that on a Mitsu pump.

Pumps with open pressure vessel have never had bladders. Item 16 on the diagram is the air injector which maintains the pressure storage air pocket in the vessel.

Each time the pump starts a diaphragm in the injector uses pump pressure to inject a shot of air.

That's what I try to find out. When eyeballing both pumps next to each other it all looks the same, apart from the height, but just a 1 centimeter difference is too much of course.

That said, why would Mitsubishi not make one tank fits all? It certainly would save them money

The air pocket is maintained by an injector which will likely have increased capacity on pumps with a larger volume tank. Because you are keeping the same size pump and injector I can't see any problem with you using a larger capacity tank.  Most important when fitting these replacement tanks is a good seal on all upper connections of the tank because this is where the air pocket is maintained.

It makes sense that pumps with larger capacity require increased pressure storage volume.

In case the pressure of the bladder in the tank is different , then it might be a problem , but not a very big one.

There is no bladder, pressure is stored in a maintained compressible air pocket directly in contact with the water.

If all of the fittings align correctly there should be no problem using a larger tank.

Its still strikes me as strange that this DLT does not accept this book while most others do - its like they've made up their own rules (which is not strange for Thailand actually).

I personally rejected the explanation my friend was given and applied my own reason :-

We do not accept yellow books as proof of address because the immigration office prefer we send all applicants to them for fee extraction.

Alternatively run an earth cable from a stake in permanently damp ground to the refrigerator.

A simple ground rod connected to the refrigerator ground terminal will not be useless (do f/a as the experts describe it).

Functional in that it will almost certainly handle any inverter filter currents and maybe small fault currents. How it would handle large fault currents to a level defined by the protective device can only be determined with proper fault loop test.

Hi there, I use One2Call for my local calls. As I very rarely use this I've built up 300 baht in my account. I checked *121# and I noticed that the balance is intact but they have stated that its valid until 23/02/24. So what happens then. I don't see why I should have to top up when I have a credit balance.. Is this another Thai scam ? Thanks.

As an alternative to buying credit via top-up, you can use existing credit to buy time at the rate 1B/day max 30 days each application.

The cheapest way to buy long time periods is to make repeat 10B credits at a machine. Each credit will require an additional 2B commission 12B total for each top-up. I believe 11 months is maximum .

You beat me to it, as with many things here 2 pin plugs are common, fridge compressors are normally rubber mounted IME, its things like rice cookers, and kettles I worry about more, but yes a good RCD should protect you.

The compressor has insulated noise isolation but what about refrigerant lines clamped to the case.
