I've got a tube of special silicon for gaskets and LPG fittings. I was going to use this, not normal silicon.
    Still no good?

Yes and it avoids that annoying drip when you don't wind enough tape. The problem all revolves around the male threads not being tapered or of poor tolerance.

A filler like hemp or pipe string with paste or liquid works best on higher pressures.

As mentioned earlier, converting the connection to male using a tapered stainless or PVC nipple usually overcomes the loose thread woes.

    Ok thanks.

Can I ask you where you bought the bladder tank ?

That’s got to be the prime suspect as there is nowhere ( that I can see ) to drain water or air, only the hopper for priming, which I guess once it’s up and running is not necessary to mess with .

The pressure switch I’ve never touched so would be unlikely, IMO, that the pressure needs adjusting.

The bladder tank is very low capacity maybe 1 litre draw down at best. You cant expect a pump of that capacity not to short cycle on low demand with such a small bladder tank and up to 36L/min available. Its possible the bladder has lost some of its pressure and shortened the cycle a little. These small bladder tanks are often nitrogen filled have no service valve and are built to last.

You can add a larger capacity bladder tank to the outlet if cycling at low flow becomes annoying.

I thought the mass of boats looked lovely. You hate Pattaya I don't. The whole tone of this article, is shallow, biased, insincere and just another of Pattaya bashing. Just the recycling of tired cliches. Pattaya is thriving. As for empty beaches: some people prefer quiet beaches: some people like bust beaches. Either way Pattaya bashers will always have ammunition whatever the situation. I think the term is Pattayaphobic: an irrational hatred and unjustified fear of any positive view of Pattaya and its residents.  It is in fact the most successful city in Thailand.

You found some good weed then.

And the beat goes on. . . .

  4. Wrap the thread with tape until its a good hand tight fit then finish off with a fine smear of silicone gasket. Fitting a PVC barrel union after the fitting makes fixing easier should the thread leak.

Or use a tapered stainless nipple and female PVC adaptor.

  5. This compact series of pumps are fitted with a tiny bladder tank and pressure switch with a close on/off differential (around .4 Bar). This can result in rapid cycling at low flow.

Be sure to release all air from the pump and around the house after draining.

We are not living in UK/Canada?USA for a reason - and for many of us it is because we prefer warm weather.  28 with low humidity and cool airflow of inverter AC is fine when not working.  People do adapt - even to living in the cold of mentioned countries - but for many of us a bit of warmth is preferred and we don't have to prove we can afford to live in an ice chest.

As a half mongrel I can sit comfortably in 30 deg C if humidity is around 65%. Down at 24 I start thinking about adding layers of clothing. Humidity is the killer for most which is why air conditioners set just 2 deg C below ambient makes sleeping much easier for so many. Inverter controlled are a little more effective at reducing humidity at settings close to ambient.

That is a reasonable price based on what I have seen. Apparently though, I also need part 23 (the O-ring), that they seem to have for 140 baht, but I also require part 30 (the cap).

The issue appears to be that I can not purchase part 30 (the cap) independent of the entire chlorinator cell assembly, which is 14,000 baht.

Search reveals cell parts diagram which links Pool Master Asia Co. Maybe worth a call.

Good list of spices. So good in fact that I have to question the need for curry powder.

The curry powder is part of a mix that is used in the early stages of some base sauce cooking methods. I can substitute the powder for my own mix but not able to completely replicate the unique flavour layer it creates. The powder I use is Rajah brand madras powder from the UK in 1kg bags.

I have spent many years trying to perfect the British Indian restaurant dishes which are unique and mostly follow the high heat spice and base gravy sequence. I also cook using more traditional longer cooking time methods.

  9. For fresh quality spices I visit Little India Bangkok about twice a year and store in a dry box. My local Makro has poor turn over of spices and are often stale. Stopped using clarified butter years ago.

Below is my dried spice stock for Indian cooking (mostly UK base method).

    Cumin
    Paprika
    Turmeric
    Coriander
    Cloves
    Mace
    Cardamom
    Methi Leaf
    Star Anise
    Fennel
    Nutmeg
    Cinnamon
    Mace
    Kashmiri mirch
Curry Powder (order from UK lasts about a year)

"Wifi-controlled breaker"  I Googled that and yup, they exist.  But I don't see anything describe what the wifi function is/does.  (?)  S'plain it to me Lucy.

You can trip and reset a wifi circuit break from a smart phone. The breaker contains a small motor to drive the reset.

Great for resetting breakers while absent and not knowing if the house will burn down.

Ah, ok. Do I just wire it to the metal unit then stake it to the ground or is there an earth connector, in the wiring box in the unit, that I connect it to?

There is an earth connection in the outdoor unit which sadly Thai AC installers rarely use.

Having a decent ground is not only for your personal safety but is essential in the surge suppression and filter circuits of many inverter units.

  12. Constant current, forward voltage and heat dissipation should be considered when driving LED lamps as their life depends on it.

The OP's fitting and its Cree LED are most likely optimized in heat dissipation and driver selection to provide output value with decent life. I suggest sticking with the forward voltage and constant current selection which is driving at just under 7W and avoid driving with other values unless sure the fitting and its LED are suitable.

Here is Ebay listing for driver with same voltage and constant current values. Might be difficult to find with suitable dimensions.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Driver-for-Cree-XLamp-CXA1304-AC-85-264V-DC-9V-700mA-7W/112850563742?hash=item1a466af29e:g:H4AAAOSw~IVanKar&frcectupt=true

I assume LED chip failure has been ruled out by swapping drivers around. LED drivers often fail early when attached to the rear heat sink of LED light fittings and then exposed to high ceiling or roof space temperatures.

  13. I use a custom solution to protect the TV, AV receiver and HTPC which consists of Schaffner EMC filter and metal oxide varistors locally. Also have some higher power protection on the house supply. I never leave the system on standby and isolate completely during storms. Very important that the supply has good ground.

Ideas for the MOV protection can be found in the Electrical section :-

I started to download to a usd drive and found that I need a more than 8Gb.

Down to the shop tomorrow and buy at least 16Gb if not a 32 Gb.

8GB storage required for Windows 10 media creation tool.

I have just completed another Windows 10 pro install using $5 Ebay key.

Created bootable USB media for latest Windows 10 on 8GB stick (7.5GB formatted) using Microsoft creation tool without problems.

So, he returns to the UK, rents a room and registers with a GP. Simples!

One of my wife's tenants who resided in Thailand for many years returned to the UK last year and was provided with emergency accommodation followed by immediate medication and consultation for a heart condition. I believe his return to resident status was sorted quite quickly. He had bypass surgery in January of this year and is currently living in a warden controlled accommodation under Worcester council.

Latest Email suggests a return to Thailand later this year.

Why a UK kettle, because it's 3kW and will boil 50% faster than the piddling 1500-1800W ones we get here. Us Brits need our tea fix pronto, no waiting allowed

after isolating motor i see it is running slow (without any load applied)

You need to perform the basic commutator bar and field winding checks using a test meter. A motor repair shop will do this if you don't have the necessary equipment.
