Report Expat Confusion Grows as Thailand Cracks Down on Helmet Law Violations
cynic1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's just revenue raising and more so for the higher fat RTP above the RTP issuing the fines for tea money. They must need more money to pay of their Mercedes. Greed is good in Thailand they believe. Bugger the road deaths they think! -

Transport Thai Woman Tests Taxis, Charged 700 Baht for 100 Baht Fare
cynic1 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I have been coming to Thailand now for almost 14 years and during that time when I need a taxi they refuse to use a meter, in most cases. Yet year on year the Thai government Dept. states there will be a crackdown on Taxis not using the meter. As usual more verbal rear end wind than actual action. 🤪😃🤪 -
Report Pattaya Powers Up Safety: Cracks Top 10 in Southeast Asia Safety Rankings
cynic1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Yep award for safety due to many additional CCTV cameras! How convenient when the RTP are involved in a crime or in their prison cells and bar murders when RTP are there. They always say "not working" Correct me if I am wrong but was not Mr Ferrari killed in prison and the cameras were not working? Here's another one. If Thaksin was in a 5 star prison hospital why were there not 24/7 security CCTV cameras to monitor activity 24/7? It is a prison. What a joke! You could not make this sh..t up in a fiction book. -
Report Nightmare in Phuket: British Family's Pricey Villa Scam Uncovered
cynic1 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Also happened to me and my Thai wife in Pattaya. It was a condo paid to booking in January this year. Also had to find emergency accommodation in peak season late in the afternoon. Thank god we did. Booking.com did refund our payment. Must be a common occurrence when it comes to booking a condo! Booking. com should take a closer look at condo owners, and if the owners actually own the condo you book? -
Report Thai Police Launch Helmet Crackdown to Boost Road Safety
cynic1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The RTP Superiors must think all the people, being Thai and Farlang, who read this repeat press verbal garbage statement, year after year, believe it will be done and enforced by the RTP. Well unless you have an IQ of 40, we all know it will not happen. I believe what the Police General Kraibhun Trawadsong, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, is saying, " with regards to increase in fines, that only applies to farlangs as we need more tea money for me and my hard working (oops slack working) RTP. It does not apply to Thais as they will not pay or cannot afford the steep fines, especially the school children. -

Report Phuket Restaurant Owner Urges More Public Bathrooms After Incidents
cynic1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I feel very sorry for the restaurant owner. At least they did not do their job whilst open and in front of diners. Put anyone off their food. Solution please Mayor of Pattaya pull your finger out and build public toilets at least where the tourist areas are. Oh, as far as being a clean pristine tourist friendly city its a sh..t hole and by the way Mr mayor at least start on the beach road where every one has been doing it in the water or on the sand when the desire or need to do so is human. -

Report Police Clamp Down on Prostitution to Protect Pattaya’s Image
cynic1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Police Clamp Down on Prostitution to Protect Pattaya’s Image The title of this article sums up the RTP and politicians repeat bull..t. They state this ever year to try to cover up the reality so they can take bribes from operational brothels and individual prostitutes. Why do they bother? The world knows it's a fact that Pattaya and other tourist areas have prostitutes. The RTP police know, the politicians know, the army knows and finally the Thai people know. Who else are these officials trying to convince us that prostitution in Thailand does not openly exist? Mmmmm maybe their mothers! After all Thailand's capital is called "Bang" "Kok". That sums it up. -

Report Thailand Eases Alcohol Laws Amid Concerns Over Safety Impact
cynic1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Does Thailand make wine? I googled this," Thailand produces wine, though it's a relatively young and small industry compared to established wine-producing regions. Often referred to as "New Latitude Wines," Thai wine production faces the challenge of its tropical climate." In short wine imports will only protect a SMALL industry thus my conclusion just an excuse to tax imports of wine, which I enjoy, and does not significantly affect the minute wine industry in Thailand. I do not know one Thai who are friends or my wifes family that drinks wine. They generally drink Thai whisky. Thus it's a tax on farang only. -

Only the duopoly companies complain with fake complaints so as to protect their massive profit industry and keep prices higher than what they should be. No ACCC (Australia) in Thailand! -

I cannot see the face or a blurred face of the person in question, unless it was the man standing there in a purple shirt with the microphone promoting a new high and states, " that coffee and heroin combined is fantastic and I'm so 'out of it' I cannot think of a brand name for it but I like ,"Purple Rain" -
