Why don't you just get a 60 day tourist visa from the consulate before you come?
Cheaper and less hassle.
OK thanks - so I looked up the Thai Consulate in London and if you apply in person you have to go again the next day to pick it up and I live in Sussex - I guess can do by post though...
You have to pay by postal order which is an additional cost. If you are going to do it that way then send to a consulate rather than Thai embassy.
Thanks - all this is making a border run seem attractive (although probably not by mini bus)
London is the Thai embassy (not consulate) and a nightmare. Use Liverpool or Hull.

OK so book flights for the two months eva and bkk airways and at the same time the surat to kl flight before the 30 day visa runs out and then extend at nathon immigration

Hi SB - I reside in Sussex UK
HI S36 - I will have a return ticket but two months after departure - so from what you say I could state that I've got a trip to say Vietnam during that time
In the end though - booking a flight with a 30 day departure date would be not too expensive to change to 30 day later (EVA/BKK Airways) after a trip to immigration to extend

Thanks for you quick reply - I would be grateful if you could give guidance on how to obtain a single entry tourist visa

Hi Guys - I know this will be a question about visas but I wanted to post in Samui section as my house is there and I know some of you
I normally visit Samui three times a year for 28 days using the visa on arrival however I would like to extend this to 56 days (so looking for a 60 day visa)
Is it true that I can extend my 30 day visa at the immigration centre in Nathon to 60 days (believe the cost is 1,900 baht) - and if so how do you get around the fact that the departing flight would be later than the visa on arrival expiry date
I'm sure I could change the return flights but that involves a cost and inconvenience
Any help would be appreciated

Just to advise (aware that this is the Phuket Forum) - that on Samui we just have to visit the Bees Knees Brew Pub who make four delicious ales on site..
-
Koh Samui - Thailand - there is a brewpub known as the Bees Knees that makes and sells in the same place fine real ales
When I visit Samui - I compare to the fine real ales we have in the UK and It's right up there imho...
-
Big sigh of relief Tropicalevo - I can't imagine Samui now without being able to drink fine ale... - please give my regards to the great man and I look forward to February..

Big C - great advice
I've had a full bike licence since I was 17 - and now (well I'm post retirement visa age) enjoy using the 150 pcx when on the island
You are correct about the life saving ability of checking over your shoulder - also I limit my speed to 40 in the local area and 60 on the ring road
I have a UK helmet which is better than the tin pots you get here
I would like to add that I always am conscious of cars parked on the left - where they may either suddenly pull out or open a door without checking behind them
All these little points can help avoid accidents

I usually go to the hair salon by the main entrance at Big C

Have a great night - wish I could be there but will celebrate in the UK with a cooling chang. See you in a couple of month's time

As I understand it the reason the billboards did not appear until three days before the regatta was due to the contract signed by Samui Triathalon and Mayor office was for the Triathalon billboards to stay for a month after the Triathalon.
As the Mayor office is in charge of public billboards the regatta committee was powerless. The Triathalon recieved over 10m Baht of tax payers money, the Samui regatta recieved nothing
Triathalon athletes received air fares, accomodation and guaranteed prize money
The regatta yachts arrive at their own expense - some owners providing 200k to 1m Baht to get their boats and crew accomodation plus an entrance fee of 17k Baht
They stay for two weeks and number up to 500 and spent 50m Baht on hotels, fuel, food, restaurants and bars

I'm looking at the page now, and it doesn't seem to have an option to add an account other than an SCB one.
Hi - I've already added the account (about a year ago) and send money each month for house maintenance. If you go into funds transfer there are three options - transfer between own accounts/other SCB accounts and finally other banks accounts
First time this has never worked
-
I have a place in Samui but at the moment I am at my UK place and wish to transfer some money from my SCB account (Chaweng Beach Road Branch) to someone who has a Bangkok Bank account
SCB recently conducted an upgrade on the 'funds transfer page' however when I enter this part of the web page it gets 'stuck'
Anyone experience this?
Having trouble with emailing/web conversation
Any help would be useful

John stall is a salty dog but when it comes to sailing and kids he is a blessing. Is he still alive and atvthevradewinds? I was told that joe at centar was also a great help in getting the regatta started.
John Stall aaka Cap’n Squall is alive and well at Tradewinds and is
working with the Navy on starting a new juniors sailing school at the new
marina/base at Nathon
