Used to stay at Woraburi in Soi 4. Pool on the roof. Close enough to all the action but still a little out of the way. Free tuk tuk up to the corner on the hour.

Cheers I booked that hotel with free cancellation so it's my second choice until I find something closer. Booked the standard room for €125 for 4 nights

Another place that I can recommend from own experience (within your budget) is "Nature View".

Good location on Soi Buakhao, corner Soi 15.

Rooms with modern AC and bathroom, proper pool.

    http://www.natureviewpattaya.com/

    But:

You can't book via the online booking systems.

Contact the place by email. They want reconfirmation a week before arrival.

    No deposit or the like.

And: only accept pool view rooms (heavy booked),.

Don't accept rooms to the street. Too loud.

Cheers pal, looks like a decent hotel

  3. Booked Thailand again for Septembe, a long time away but might as well book now with free cancellation. Stayed in April suites last time and really liked it but the location wasn't the best. Looking to book somewhere for around €200 for the week. Anybody ever stayed in D hotel ? Any other recommendations

You lost my interest when you talked about McDonalds.

I don’t blame ya mate. I didn’t know where to eat and mc Donald’s is a easy way out. Got an alibaba Indian delivery tonight and would rather a mc Donald’s now. Pure muck. Any recommendations on a Thai restaurant

What’s the big deal? You’re not traveling around the world for goodness sake. Geez, get a grip and just go and enjoy yourself. If you find you need something you left behind, buy another one. Now you’ll have a back-up back home. People like you drive me crazy. Truly pathetic.

Cheers Kurt. How am I truly pathetic? It's my first time travelling so far alone. Feeling very anxious tbh.

  7. Staying in Pattaya and Bangkok. I was thinking of going to castaway in Pattaya but not sure yet. Also when in Bangkok I was thinking Bungsamran as I've heard great reviews and huge fish but it's pretty expensive also another spot I was looking at was Jurassic mountain park in petchaturi, can anyone recommend this place ? It's nearly same distance as it is to bungsamran. Please any recommendations would be great. It's my first visit to Thailand

I was going to say exactly this. Be careful though - I did something similar and we are still together after 6 years. If I was to do the same again, I'd probably look for a girl in iBar. but make sure you find one that is adventurous and will take you to different places.

Wouldn't be a bad idea having a companion for a few days. Guide and someone who will take photos when going fishing

Boystown is in Pattaya. There is also the equivalent is in jomtien including many gay bars, resorts and  a gay beach. There's nothing wrong with that but it's useful to know for first the time visitor. Jomtien is fairly ghastly and a first time visitors has no reason to visit.

It's somewhere different and not to far from central pattaya and it will be perfect to relax and cure my alcohol poisoning before my onwards journey to Bangkok

100 percent wrong advice except for the one Chinese speedboat dominated beach. At least seven beaches and they are clean and have few people and no Chinese.

What's the problem with the whole Chinese

Both hotels are cheap Charlie hotels and quite bad. Food poisoning guaranteed.

First time trip ? Have you been to SE Asia before ?

Thai Visa is an absolute font of information:

    But we need more info.

What exactly are you hoping for this trip?

    Age?

Cultural interests - there are a few nearby places, temples, Sanctuary of Truth etc etc

Food/ Restaurants- need to find out  the best recommendations - 5* or local ?

    Will you have transport?

    Shopping?

Are you hoping to find yourself on a fabulous tropical beach? ( tricky in Pattaya)

Is it in the back of your mind - perhaps would like to interact with the locals - then we need to know if you are straight, gay or perhaps trans .

Pattaya is tricky for first time visitors - there are loads of hidden gems - an example small bars on the beach in Na Jomtien .

OP- more info required - and then Thai Visa will come up with the goods.

Sadly probably nothing more will be heard from the OP

    Regards

I'm 20, booked April suite s and Areca lodge. Here for women, relaxing, shopping, drinking, sightseeing, fishing etc. I'm up for anything tbh

Unless your going in peak season Jomtien is a 10-15 minute, ฿10 ride by baht bus to Walking Street. After my initial vacation I always stayed in Jontien. Better options for chilling out during the daytime at Jomtien Beach too. I think you will enjoy your time in the Pattaya area as long as you have the stamina.

I'll be doing 5 days in Pattaya which should be enough. Jomtiem is ideal for last two nights to relax
