A few hotels are in my budget march hotel ok metropole and blue sky hotel. I might do 3 nights in one of these and 2 in Areca and 2 in Dvaree jomtiem. Hopefully skipping the first 3 nights in Bangkok will be worth it .

In my opine 4 nights is not enough. My first trip was 10 days, second trip was 14 days, then subsequent trips worked my way up to two months at one point. In Pattaya a day trip by speed boat to Ko larn the island and some water fit for swimming. a night or two of playing pool with the girls can be fun, a night of drinking and karaoke can be a blast, soapy massage, of course foot massage or oil massage every day. Take a girl to TIffany show or the other place. It is different. Hire a girl with a motorbike for two days getting around town. Ride up to big buddha. I recommend a day at nong nooch garden just because it really is pretty and relaxing. A day of walking around, lounging at the hotel pool. Thai barbecue at Big C with that killer barbecue sauce tabletop. A hot day.. take in a movie, or hit one at night for a few hours. Two nights at walking street will leave a lot unseen. Plenty of side streets to experience.
My head is melted now lol. Pattaya seems like an ideal place for me but I don't want to regret not seeing much of bangkok. I don't know if I could fit everything into 4 days in bangkok. If I go to pattaya for 7 days I just don't want to get bored.

skip the first 3 days in BKK and start right in Pattaya, especially if you arrive in the day and can take a bus from the airport to Pattaya. Taxis are not that expensive and you can arrive and take one at any time of day. If the first trip I suggest it is better to arrive during the day and travel during the day so you see your way around a bit better. BKK has plenty of things for you to try, and it sounds like staying anywhere along the BTS skytrain and experiencing Soi cowboy and Nana might be your primary goal.
Straight to Pattaya ? It really is a difficult decision as I most likely won't be in Thailand again for a very long time. Booked a hotel near asok in Bangkok but now with only 2 days before I can change books I'm having second thoughts. Is going direct to pattaya worth it ? Or would 4 nights be enough

First time In Thailand and staying in Pattaya for 4 nights. My last change my bookings for free. First 3 nights in Bangkok then 4 in Pattaya and last 4 in Bangkok. All the action seems to be happening around the Areca but the Dvaree looks nice. I'm here for the women and partying and shopping. Should I book an extra night in Pattaya and should I do all nights in Areca

€2500 is plenty, Thailand is way cheaper than Amsterdam. Biggest risk to your money is stupid decisions, so go easy on the early evening pre drinking. There's really no need to on a budget like that, local beers aren't so expensive. Don't get persuaded by tuk tuk drivers into them taking you to some special show somewhere etc. No need to throw money away on long distance taxis, Ayutthaya is a cheap and easy bus or train ride, Pattaya very easy on the bus for 108 baht, departures every 20 minutes. Meet girls in the discos or elsewhere for a better experience and save a pile of money, short time bar fines tend to have a rushed feel to them and can be very sub par. Steer completely clear of drugs here, too easy to get fitted up. Bear in mind also that Bangkok is not the place to come shopping for most items, the strong value of the baht means any imported products (clothes, shoes etc) are way cheaper back home. Knock offs are a different story, but won't burn a hole in your pocket anyway. There are exceptions - Chinese phones like Huawei for instance can be much better value for money in Asia than the west. Also get a sim card and short term data plan when you arrive, cheap and fast data here.
Cheers mate, appreciate the advice. 100% there for the cheap knockoffs. I'm getting a lot of information online so I'm pretty up to par with all the scams etc. Regarding the short time for the women, does the hour start as soon as you leave the bar or when you get to hotel? ( I'm there for fun and don't care what people on here think of my debauchery lol ) don't get out much at home...only thing I'm worried about is the drinking as I have a habit of drinking to oblivion lol

For a Newbie to Thailand - I will - cause bank debit card is the most dangerous card in your wallet. The gals get ahold of that and your PIN they can empty the account - say you have $10,000 in the account, that can be emptied in a coupe days - think of the time difference for the banks to discover the abuse. Ease of use, yep, I have several, low amounts in each for insurance. Now if you are referring to Credit Cards that have a protection on them??? Thats another topic altogether. Travellers Checks are insured Peace
I would be sensible enough to keep everything locked up in the safe before going out. Just carry money in neck wallet under tshirt. Was robbed in Amsterdam so I'm very careful since then

Partying
500 Euros a days is easily spent, thats after hotels etc just play money! especially when girls and their drinks are involved ?
It aint cheap here any more just been in Bangkok for 2 days ( i live in the sticks ).......so i know
I'm only 19 but have been to Amsterdam 4 times in the last 2 years. Usually spend around 800 for a week there. Surely Bangkok is cheaper. If I budget 400b for lady drink and my drink in gogo bar and 3-4000b for short time maybe 3-4 times during my trip. I'm not a big eater so street food and shopping food court is good. And I'll pre drink vodka or beer from supermarket. Taxi to pattaya and taxi to lopburi and ayyatuya are my big expenses. The rest is shopping and local attractions and fishing. €2500 should be good enough

Please don't advise the lad to bring Travelers cheques that are far inferior to a debit card in terms of ease of use.
I'm bringing two bank cards and cash ?

- Depends on your age, stamina, and personality
- I would say - for ten days - $500+ a day, all in, cause if this is a single mans vacation of a lifetime, think Hangover III, then you will need it and more. Travelers cheques are best, when, not if, when, they get stolen, they are insured.
- this is if you are a sex pat tourist...........now if you are a sight seeing tourist??? $200 a day is plenty, and I mean plenty, but if you are going the Rock Star route $500 a day is minimum. Bring some friends have FUN!!
€500 a day is crazy money. I'll be sticking to sight seeing and budget €600 for fun times if ya get me. So €1900 should be enough for food attractions and shopping

With 2500€ you will have a roughly 8500b (220€) per day, should be enough unless you intend to go crazy every night.
Realistically, and if you only pay for yourself, 1500b for food per day is enough - 200b for breakfast, 400 lunch, and a decent dinner 500-900b with drinks. I personally eat all meals out, sometimes thai, sometimes western, and rarely spend more than 1000b per day on food. I think average is closer to 600b.
Lets say 2000-3000b for drinks - cheap bars will be 100b per beer/drink, expensive bars/clubs 300b. Let's say average 200b so this would mean 10-15 drinks per night, that should at least get you buzzed.
This still leaves you with +4000b per day for other activites ? In my opinion it is more than enough, you could have a full service massage and LT every day.
In Bangkok you will probably spend 300-400b per day on getting around. In Pattaya not so much, mostly walkable or can use the 10b songthews.
Cheers pal. I'm a cheap bastard when it come s to drink so I will probably hit a 7/11 for a afew beers before heading out. Kind of regretting I didn't book pattaya for longer now.

On an Irish passport you'll get a 30 day visa exemption stamp, no charge, just join the queue at immigration (do NOT join the "Visa on Arrival" queue, that's something different).
Spending money? As the ladies say, up2u, I would think 2-3 grand Euro would do the trick on top of hotel etc.
Make sure your travel insurance is valid for all the activities (motorcycling, diving, jet ski) you have planned with good medical cover. Shagging all night and touring all day could lead to a heart attack.
Bring condoms!
Haha cheers pal

Not in Pattaya but it's only a ferry ride away (the ferry is still operating I assume) I can recommend Hua Hin Fishing lodge http://huahinfishing.com/
They have everything you want to catch and much more as well as excellent food and quality accommodation.

Staying in Bangkok for 7 nights and pattaya 4 nights. Will be out partying most nights in well known areas and bringing girls back a couple of nights, maybe 4 nights as I'll be exhausted ?. Thinking of bringing around 2500€ lots of shopping and tours etc. Also do I have to pay for visa as I'm from Ireland. Hotels all booked

About 7200 Baht, 1800 per night to make it easier.
That makes for more than a 100 hotels in the 3 and 4 star class with pool (many rooftop only).
Not sure which Amari you refer too.
The Amari Ocean would break your budget.
I would suggest you better for ask personal recommendations.
In October (deep low season) even the Areca Lodge (Soi Diana) would be within your budget.
Excellent pools, lot of action close by.
Walking distance to 2nd/beach road.
Cheers for the tip on Areca lodge.? Went and booked it

They allow hores at Amari residences, sure. The manager is a lovely young woman with a kid and husband who own a top floor unit there. Hotels like this are usually full of couples and families, so expect to stick out like a sore thumb.
Why would they be whores ? Surely I can meet a nice girl in a cafe and invite her back to swim in the pool!! Do you have a thai girlfriend or wife ? Is she a whore

Any recommendations on things to do during the day ? First time visit to Thailand and decided to do 7 days in Pattaya and 4 in Bangkok. Plan to go fishing in castaway one of the days and maybe one of the islands another. Is there any day trips anyone can recommend? Also has anyone ever been to the island with monkeys as it will save me a trip to lopburi.
