It happened to me on my last 90 days online report! What I did was to email the immigration asking what should I do! The same day they sent me the bill! I think you should try to email them asap!

Good idea. I've sent an email to [email protected]

Is that the eamil you used?

    Maybe I'l get a response.

I sure don't want to waste a chunk of a day going up to CW or pay THB2,000 fine for filing "late". ????

    Cheers,

Make a "plan" to go to CW tomorrow, but change your mind in the morning.

The next report date slip will show up with your EMS driver. ????

So you bought a 37 baht EMS slip for your return envelope at the post office when you were mailing in your paperwork? If so, that tracking number is not applicable. They will stick a new EMS slip, with a different tracking number on it, over yours for the return trip. So there is no way to track the return envelope.

I hope it shows up. I've tracked the return before with the original EMS # . Maybe this time it will be a different #, but either way it's very overdue.

  3. I've done it many times. Fill in the 90 day reg, with a stamped return envelope (registered), in a registered letter to Immigration at Lak Si.

This time I can see online by the tracking number that they have recieved my envelope, but it's been a month and I have not recived the return letter,.

If I try to track the registered number with Thai Post, it does not show anything.

    What should I do?

I can't get he Online service to work.

Should I just wait until my next 90 is due and file that like normal?

Go all the way to Lak Si?

Obvioulsy I want to be compliant wth the laws, and don't want to pay a fine. I have a "Retirement Visa".

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!  ????

  4. Mexico City is boring ?!?!?!?!?

He didn't even leave his hotel room.

The museums, the markets, the food, the dance, the Lucha Libre, the tequila and Mariachis, the parks, the architecture, the languages, the handicrafts, textiles, … shall I go on? Sure it’s polluted, but no worse than BKK. (Which is also a fantastic city, and similar in many ways to Mexico City.)

  5. Sure, there are examples above where it has held, but there are many examples of short cuts in construction around here. A small tremor could easily knock down many AC units, even on cement block walls. But you’re building the room, and know where the units will be placed, so maybe incorporate some steel support during construction? Even if it’s visible, it can be painted and plastered so it looks good when finished. And it will be much safer.

  6. My Non O visa and passport expired on the same day, Aug 3rd.

So I got a new passport on May 20th.

My Embassy (Canada) returned my old passport (containing the Non O Visa) with a stamp in it indicating the new passport number.

Do I need to get the visa transferred now and go again, after July 4th apply for a new extension?

Or can I go on the 4th with the all the documents and apply for a new visa?

That would be a lot easier and save pages in my passport.

  7. We tend to complain a lot, especially about the Thai bureaucracy.

When a job is well done we must point it out.

The service I received at MedPark was first class.

In and out in less than an hour including the 30 minute wait.

Efficient staff, excellent building, AZ jab, even the waiting chair was comfy. A+ !!!

Meanwhile, I like many others went down the 60-day extension route, and when I asked what would happen at the end of that I was told that I had to leave Thailand. I've been here 25 years or so, have a wife, a house, a car and family, but have to get out of the country unless I brought 400,000 baht into the country. Which I hurriedly did because it needs to be there for 60 days, even though I had preferred to keep my money in the UK instead.

Barry, If you've been here fr 25 years, why are you dealing with 60 day extensions? I would have though you'd be at 90 day reporting?

  9. // This plan will only attract long-term stayers and not real tourists i.e. those retirees or those on education visa. //

True, not a lot of tourists. But many people who live in Thailand but don't have an official Thai spouse will be happy to be able to get back to their normal life instead of living in a month - to - month apartment in wherever they got stuck.

  10. Do we know yet? Is TM 47 due before the 31st? Or is the due date 90 days from when your last report was supposed to filed?

I came in on the 20th March. So my due date would have been about June 18 and theoretically it was nenewed automatically. 90 days from June 18 puts it due about Sept 15th.

... or maybe it's due now...

I'm thinking maybe send in the TM 47 by post? Or is that just going to confuse them.

The web site is down: "Online service has temporarily closed for maintenance from 16 July 2020 (00.01 AM) to 22 July 2020 (05.00 AM)"

  11. On a similar subject, how old can the Income Affidavit be? (The affidavit from the embassy, in my case Canadian.)

Say my visa extension expires Dec 30th. (Non 0, 12 month extension)

So I go to Chaeng Wathana and apply for new extension on, say, Dec 1st. All good, less than 30 days before it expires.

And the Embassy affidavit for my income verification was signed Nov 1st, it is now one month old at the time I'm applying for extension. Is that OK?

What the Affidavit is 6 weeks old when I apply for the extension 30 days before expiry?

  12. Here's what I found from the Immigration Office and from the Bank. (We know that what we are told by officials can, erm... be subjective.)

The Desk clerks behind the information counter at Immigration (BKK CW) say the 800k + has to be in the account for two months before the application, as DrJack54 said. (The Immigration Website still says 3 months, but that is apparently inaccurate .)

They also consulted with each other and agreed the currency can be in US$. "Go-dai."

So, to double check I went to the bank. The Kasikorn clerk who deals with the Bank Guarantees also confirms US$ is not a problem. It's kind of irrelevant since the form the bank fills out for immigration says THB anyway. That's better, so there will be no confusion once you get this form to immigration. The exchange rate is calculated the day that they fill out the Bank Guarantee form. So regardless of what the rate has been, as long as your Foreign currency amount exceeds the 800K on that day, and you've had that amount or more for the pasttwo months, they will supply this guarantee form.
