holy cow. this is big news.

it means thailand is embracing the AI/robotic revolution and will not lag behind other countries in utilizing these technologies, for better or for worse.

if they put these things everywhere, street crime will be a thing of the past.

also no more bouncers giving beatings in bars ... this is YUGE.

OMG you fell for the Thai BS

  2. "While the figures are concerning, there is a silver lining with 15 provinces recording zero fatalities, suggesting certain regions have managed to bolster road safety effectively," hardly a silver linings Ning, means 57 provinces with casualties... the 15 without, probably more to luck, anyway, still a day or 2, they can still add to the list, in the end a success will be announced, though no improvement has actually been achieved.

Mind you, it's not only the locals.  Just followed a muppet Russian tourist (actually probably on a student visa, because it was his own personalised Vmax "wannabe" scooter) up Thappraya Road from Jomtien. I was behind him at the U-turn just past Rompho and he couldn't make the turn - he had to paddle it. Obviously zero riding skills - I undertook him.

He then fangs it past me and about ten other scooters as we depart the Thepprasit lights, makes multiple gap choice errors, brakes on and off a dozen times, counterbalances the wrong way as he attempts to weave at speed between the cars, probably should have died three times.

Then he stops at the U-turn at the top of the hill, and proceeds to paddle it around - again.  I undertook him - again.

These are the ones that will get you. :coffee1:

As it is Thai's that form the majority best to stick with that, as tourist numbers are insignificant compared with Thai's.

Sensible people drive their cars instead of ride their bikes during songkran.

In saying that I have had a fantastic ride out each morning so far on this holiday, But we go out early...Leave home at day break and back by 8.30am.

In Hua Hin  Songkran lasts only 1 day, the water fight doesn't start, in ernest until after lunch... Very civilised... 555

Sure, the guy might not be very social, and might not like his family. That could be seen as bad behavior. Sure! Still does not take away his freedom to chose as an adult.

True, then cause stress/worry to family and friends, then get many authorities involved, this kid should not be allowed to travel alone, completely irresponsible, childish behaviour, not the actions of a responsible person... Truely showing the fact that the human brain does not, on an average, mature until 25, some take longer, one day you might reach that level.

I used to talk to an old Thai taxi driver at the hotel where I lived. He said that when he was a kid (probably the 1950's), Songkhran lasted for 1 day, and it was just sprinkling water on people, not buckets and water cannon. I expect that mass tourism has made it what it is today.

Still only 1 day, in Hua Hin. Culturally it was washing the hands, and feet, of elders, but turned into a water festival, lead by thais... Do not blame tourists.
