Thailand had it good for many decades. It was the only safe destination in SE Asia and benefited from this a lot. Now that the other countries of the region, Vietnam, Cambodia etc, are actively promoting their tourist product Thailand is falling to follow the pace. I don't think they will do anything substantial to attract tourists. They didn't earn their share, they were just lucky.
