Well, thanks for the replies. I would love to get the Erdinger, but I think I would have to charge people admission to attend LOL. I think we'll just get cases and a big bucket of ice to keep em' cool. Getting a bit late for all this planning and hassle.

So my b-day is coming up and we are organizing a bbq/beerfest at a friends house in BKK. We want to get a keg of Singha, but aren't sure how this might be done. Anyone know of a place we can rent the keg plus tap, and get it filled for the party.
Any Help Appreciated. Thanks

Hi All.
So my birthday is coming up this weekend, and we are planning a barbecue/beerfest at a friends house. We would like to get a keg of Singha, but are unsure how to go about this. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will get down there on monday, as I am busy till then. What are the chances of getting my multiple entry visa renewed? Does the embassy supply some sort of letter for immigration? If I don't get another visa I will have to go to a consulate etc etc. which sucks.

Well, I came to the sickening realization today that i must have lost my passport on the way from the airport back to my home in BKK. I am on a multiple entry student visa, valid till Jan. 2009. This is (sadly) the second passport I have lost in 3 years in BKK.
Anyone that has been to the US Embassy knows they are not the friendliest bunch. Will I be put through a terrible interrogation of some sort? anyone who has or knows of a similar experience offer any advice?
Thanks in advance.

From what I have seen on the news in the past few hours, it seems that PPP supporters are setting up their own pulpit in Sanam Luang. This, IMHO can only lead to bad things tonight. Let's hope for the best.

I still think Fuji is the best Japanese food for the price. I know it's assembly-line style food, but still tasty.

A very influential figure that endured harsh realities that most of us can hardly imagine.
RIP to a truly inspirational journalist and person.

What days are Songkran?
it will be winding down around the 18th, but water throwing will still be fair game.
Beat me to it!

Agree with the posts above, especially the fact that it can get pricey. Cheeze Whiz is one thing I have yet to come across, that and Dr. Pepper which I miss with my heart and soul.

Serviced in what fashion? 11,000 really won't get you that much unless you are outside the city a bit.

That was Fogo Vivo. My friend was the manager for the first few years, and it was a very good place. Sad that it had to close down. I sure miss the Brazilian style service, different cuts of meat being carried around by waiters, cut right onto your plate. For the quality and ambience, it was well worth the flat fee of 1,000 THB!

Tokyu Dept. Store in MBK has a good selection of imported tobaccos. May be worth a try.

Thanks for quick response!

I will be re-entering bangkok University again on the 9th Jan. At this point I will be on my third tourist visa, and will not have the neccessary three valid weeks needed to aplly for non imm. visa. If I go to Penang, to the consulate, I will be able to apply there right? How long would this process take?
Thanks.
-
I know when one applies for work permit from tourist visa they must have 3 weeks valid from the application date. Well I took a term off of school here to travel, and will have used my 3 tourist visas by the time I apply for a new student visa. I am really hoping that this 3 week rule does not apply to Non Imm Ed visas as it will make my life very difficult!

My good friend's birthday happens to be tomorrow. Great luck for him...
Being the nice guy that i am i raced down to the Lotad and picked up a ridiculous amount of booze at 5:45.
There was a mad dash in the booze aisle, people were literally filling shopping carts with cases of beer and whiskey, pretty funny actually.

Thanks a lot!
You've been a big help

Hello.
I am making some flyers to post at Unis and language centers to attract students for English tutoring.
Could someone please accurately translate the following?
Do you need an English language tutor?
English lessons available at a location of your choosing.
Cambridge University of England certified teacher (CELTA).
American teacher can focus on language points that you want to learn.
Please call ------- and ask for Jesse.
Thanks to anyone that is willing to help. I know there are some very proficient Thai speakers here.

Ahhhhhh!!!! You gotta be Shi&*ing me!!! I have played a Thai copy of Sim City 4 for over a year, that is an EA game!!! What the hel_l. If you have any info on getting the language pack PLEASE PM me! This game is sooo cool and although my Thai is good enough to stumble through the menues, I am definitely not getting everything!

So I just spent 699 baht on a fresh new copy of Crysis, which i've been waiting to play for ages! Every other unpirated game Ive bought here has givin me a language option on install, but not this one! Anyone have any idea how to get it running with English? The guy at the game store asssured me it had English, and I don't see how it couldn't to be honest. Any help would be appreciated!

While those are all good suggestions. The 8800GT is a very serious piece of hardware, which i believe is far more powerful than the OP requires. It is basically only for those wanting to play the most demanding games on the market. I would suggest a Nvidia 7900 or 8600 series, that would save easily over 100 dollars.

Thanks for the tips!
The cumin sounds like a great idea.
I don't have a deep fryer (Wish I did LOL).

So lately I've been craving mexican food (Sunrise tacos is great, but I don't have the budget to be eating there often).
I decided to experiment with making salsa, and to my surprise it worked out great!
Ingredients:
5-6 ripe Thai tomatoes (make sure they are good and red)
1 medium onion
5-10 thai chillies (depending on your spiciness tolerance)
3 small thai limes
fresh coriander (cilantro)
Prep:
Bring pot of water to a boil, add tomatoes for ~1 minute to facilitate peeling
Drain tomatoes, peel and dice finely
Dice onion finely
Dice chillies finely
Juice limes
Dice Chillies finely
Throw all this together, and if you have a blender puree it a tad (not to a pulp)
Let sit in fridge for ~6 hours, and stir.
There you have it. A very easy and tasty salsa, that would get a pass in South LA.
Best enjoyed with tortilla chips (Danitas, or if you're a big spender Doritos plain )
Hope you guys enjoy it!

We are just gonna go with bottles, as the only clear answer I have received so far is that I can get a 30 litre Erdinger keg for 6,000, which is overbudget, even for my birthday hahaha.
