  1. Thanks again. I wasn’t planning on being back to Bangkok for 2 weeks . Don’t like using my home country debit card, when I already have money at Bangkok Bank. Going to try the Bangkok Bank Branch on Beach Road in Pattaya on Monday.
  2. Thanks I hope it works. I deleted the banking app off my old iPhone so I can’t even transfer the money to any of my friends to get it that way.
  3. I am returning to Thailand for the first time since February 2020 when I left for my home country due to the pandemic. I just realized that my Bangkok Bank debit card is expired and I don’t have ATM access to my account and I am arriving from Singapore today. With my passport, expired debit card and my Bank Book will I be able to go to any branch to get a new card or get access to my funds or will I need to go to my original branch where I opened the account? To make matters worse my retirement visa also expired during the pandemic.
  4. Get up in morning get dressed for work Maybe have a cup of instant coffee before leaving the house Stop before getting to work and buy a skewer or two of chicken or pork Lunch get some rice and pork with chillies and vegetables Dinner have rice with pork or chicken or fish and vegetables/mushrooms Repeat the next day
  5. Shouldn’t be a problem. I have done that route a few times and Koh Lipe immigration is quite straightforward
  6. The macro strategist I follow are all calling for a peak in the USD in the next few months. There is an implicit assumption I. This prediction that inflation has peaked and the Federal Reserve will soon pause rate hikes.
  7. A westerner should know better and he should be given a very large fine and expelled from Thailand. Hopefully he is named and shamed in the Dutch press.
  8. If you are still living looking for someone please direct message me with requirements. I know a nice lady who is honest, speaks good English and very reliable.
  9. I too remember my first flight on Aeroflot in 1972 from Moscow to Leningrad return (now St Pete's again). Instead of carpets on the floor they had those rubber mats you would find in return kitchens. Passenger comfort was not a priority as the climb out of Moscow was close to 45 degrees followed by a sharp turn towards Leningrad. Much better service and comfort in 2020 when I flew Aeroflot from Malaga to BKK via Moscow, that flight was the same as you would expect from any modern airline
  10. Sounds to me like Thai workers are demanding a living wage and it threatens to cut into profits
  11. so if I understand correctly: If a tourist comes to Thailand on holidays and tests positive for covid, they will be forced to stay in hospital even if they feel fine and have no symptoms, in addition they will be out of pocket tens of thousands of dollars for the hospital stay because the mandatory insurance won't cover their claim? Is this correct?
  12. Easy clean up the air so it is always well below the AQI 2.5 threshold and clean up the ocean so when I am knee deep in the water I can see my feet. Just for a start
  13. Probably Melasma; is common in Thailand (especially in darker pigmented skin) and not really treatable. Lots of hospitals, companies and individuals will try to sell her expensive creams and treatments but most are ineffective and those that do work do so only marginally and will not eliminate the issue.
