  1. Does anyone know of a shop in Phuket where they will cut wood for you to the size required? I need two pieces of plywood about 1m long x 1/2m wide. I tried Global House and HomePro, no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Clueless fools. China is, at this moment, experiencing more than 5,000 covid deaths per day. The bad thing is, due to zero COVID and China's relatively ineffective COVID vaccine, for most Chinese, their immune system has not been primed. China's pandemic response model has become a laughingstock (https://theweek.com/china/1019948/china-is-suffering-an-estimated-5000-unofficial-deaths-a-day-in-brutal-covid-19-surge). Welcome to Thailand!!

    A/C Repairman

Good afternoon! Any recommendations on an A/C Repairman that services units in Old Town Phuket? I'm having recurring issues with the unit in our master bedroom and the "gentleman" who I am currently using has tried to fix it 4 or 5 times. Each time it's ok for a couple of weeks and then suddenly starts pissing water to no end. Please help me find someone qualified to sort this out! Thanks for your help.

    Corona Boosters

Thanks, would agree that's probably the case.

    Corona Boosters

Is it still possible to get a corona booster shot for free in Phuket? If so, where? The new Bivalent Corona Booster would obviously be the first choice but that's probably asking for too much! Thanks if anyone has some info!
  8. I was thinking about this and find it a bit odd that there doesn't seem to be any distinction between a "license to own" and a "license to carry". It may just be the Thai to English translation but if that's the case it's pretty scary given the number of guns!!
  9. I am truly amazed at the number of guns, both legal and illegal, available here in Thailand! That said, it makes me curious about the Carry Laws here. If a gun is legal can you carry it on your person, in your car or on your motor bike? Who issues the Carry Permits, how difficult are they to obtain? It certainly stains the image of Thailand as a safe and welcoming destination!
  10. Small minds, small ideas......
  11. Would also recommend DHL or FedEx. Do not use the Postal Service. I recently used EMS, the Thai Post Express service, to send a letter to the US that required urgent delivery. They charged me THB 1,550 for delivery in 5 to 7 days. The letter left Phuket on 16 Aug and arrived at the address in Pittsburg on 15 Sept! Express Delivery 30 Days! Definitely use DHL or FedEx.
  12. Our house cleaner comes two times per month and cleans everything, floors, windows, toilets, showers, bedsheets, etc, etc. We pay her 1000bht per visit (ie: 2000bht per month). She does a thorough job and we have no problem keeping up between visits.
  13. OMG, that's the best one yet!!!
  14. Yeah, me too. Have been a good Electrolux customer for many years but after this experience I am definitely changing brands!
  15. Does anyone have a good contact at Electrolux? I am having some issues with appliances installed when I built my house and the "normal" customer service reps have been unable to provide any assistance or help in getting repairs done. I need to contact someone higher up in the organization to help prompt some response. Thanks.
  16. Thai Visa is a good recommendation. They may not be the cheapest in town but very reliable.
  17. A "Third World" country advertising itself as Premium Travel Destination?!? Third world countries are usually paired with relatively low levels of education, poor infrastructure, improper sanitation, limited access to health care, and lower costs of living. Do we, here in Thailand fit the bill? I think we can check most of those boxes!
