Immigration has become difficult and unreasonable, cost of living has increased dramatically, both expats and locals have become disenfranchised with each other, depending on where you are from, life is better there or in other countries for all the reasons above and more stated by other TVF contributions. Thailand is just NOT the Elysium it was once imagined when the "rose colored" glasses were shattered. Expats "see" the reality they cannot deny. It's time to go...Remember: price is what you pay, value is what you get! Not worth the investment of time and money....

I read more and more stories like this everyday. It seems that immigration is getting tougher recently even after Big Joke left.
I agree this is constant along with lady boy thefts/beatdowns, car/motorcycle deaths, jumper suicides off balcony, etc...welcome to lovely Thailand....it's definitely more adventure than a movie...

Surely the ones to ask are your local office. It is well known that there are variations around the country.
Do you know why there are variations around the country? Is that normal? It's like people make stuff up as they feel like it going along with major implications, and severe consequences on foreigners lives, their families, children, etc. Visa Russian roulette.

It was a marketing slogan thought up by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. To be fair, it has been very successful - as some seem to believe it's true!
Don't you see the endless smiles here? Or NOT? I see on your profile you are in BKK.

Good grief. You believed the "Land of Smiles" slogan? Where do Immigration Officers always smile? Get a grip!
Sent from my SM-G930F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
Don't they call Thailand the land of smiles? I thought they did! Why do they say the 'land of smiles"? I read that quote all over TVF for years. Do you know why or what the origin of that quote is? Have you eve seen that on TVF? Hmmm, perhaps it's just my naivety, that's why I came here, I see all the Thai girls always smile at me. Oh well, I'm blissfully in love with Thailand - whatever...LOL

How many do you need, 1,2,3,5,10 people? So ridiculous. It depends on the office, and the mood of the officer that holds your life in their hands.

Japan, surprisingly, is quite a corrupt country. Most of the corruption is at the large business and governmental level. It doesn't reach the lower strata as it does in Thailand.
I agree. However, not so with immigration rules and regulation application. If it says you get a certain number of days everyone gets the same. Thai immigration is well known for being "consistently inconsistent".

Yes, not only you but many of us will be rejected. Male sure you have a plan B, C, D, etc...

All of them on the take, from top to bottom. It never ends! Absolutely no sense or moral scruples or any effort to do a fair days work for a fair days pay.
Terrible people. ????
Whereas in Japan, very opposite. Absolute idiots here. Welcome to the new way of immigration here. No sense in fighting it, just move to another country.

Just throw it out and start over.

The sign of the times here now. No more smiles. Start searching for another place with easier immigration processes.

Never was out to own anyone, all I was trying to do was be responsible for my daughter and support and provide for her mother to give her a better life and self worth. Lust and love had nothing to do with just a big heart who was too trusting.
If she wanted the same you would not be in this hell now. You stated, she lied, that = no integrity. She is not interested in the same values that you believe in. Can you see that?
