Apparently the consulate was not aware of the new rules that went into effect on October 1st of last year.

If you are able to get the correct insurance immigration may change your 15 entry entry to one year. When the immigration order for the insurance was issued in 2019 it had a clause for having the entry changed to one year.

You will need to purchase the insurance from the companies listed here. https://longstay.tgia.org/companiesoa

I see, so buy insurance, go out of country then come back? Or something can be done at Chaengwattana it self

  2. Hello, I have a new OA 1 year sticker visa issued from my home country (india). This visa was issued by a consulate in my country in December  ̶T̶h̶i̶s̶ LAST year and as per the requirement from consulate I purchased (online) and submitted an insurance for 40K OPD and 400K IPD (asked by the consulate as additional documents with this specification)

But upon arrival at suvarnabhumi the immigration did not allow me entry based on this insurance and asked me for a 3M insurance. Since there was no way I could purchase or arrange it right there, I opted for an on arrival visa (15 days) and entered the country. The O A visa was unused.

can someone please suggest what are my options? Even If I purchase a insurance now, do I still need to leave the country and re enter using my Non OA visa? I am really trying to avoid another flight out of the country right now.

  3. Hey there,  I am a little confused between the visa types.

I got a prospective employer in Thailand and they have sent me their company documents/ letter etc. But they are not very sure about the type which I need to apply for from Mumbai,India. I was checking the VFS website and found there are 4 types it seems. My prospective employer is a BOI company.

Basically the letter which Is addressed to Royal Thai Consulate (issued by my employer) is for a request to grant me a Non Immigration Type B visa. But when I tried to refer the VFS website I found several as follows, but the Visa form seems to be same.

    • Business Visa B
    • Employment
    • Employment NON IB

Any suggestion which one should I apply for and where to mention it in my visa form?

  4. I'm in a weird situation and really unsure about what is to be done.

I used to work in Bangkok for around 6 months in 2014, then I left the company (Its a BOI company) and came back to my home country in India. I surrendered my work permit to the company for canceling as they told me to do. My permit expired on 2015.

Last month I got a offer from another Thailand based company (Non BOI) and when they tried to apply for my WP3, it was rejected stating that my old permit was not canceled.

I am trying to get in touch with my old organization but they are no longer in service in Thailand. I'm not sure if they will help me.

So what are my options? What documents I'll need from my old company to initiate a cancelation myself with help from someone in Bangkok?

  5. Hey there, First of all, thanks to all the active members of this forum for creating such a wonderful source of information. Kudos!

I used to work in Bangkok around 3 years ago (for less than 6 months) and then came back to my native country, India. Even though it has been more than 3 years now, Bangkok has always been in my memories. Recently, I applied for a job opportunity and got a prospective employer. The employer will be processing my work-permit once I get there but I need to get my Non-Immigrant Visa B from India (They will provide all the required approval forms and company documents).

I have some concern regarding the need of "alien income tax or Por Ngor Dor 91" (I read this at the following link ). Since I have worked in Thailand earlier, the following is applicable to me:

    Quote

    - Copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour and alien income tax or Por Ngor Dor 91 (only in the case where applicant has previously worked in Thailand).

The problem is, I do not have my alien income tax or Por Ngor Dor 91. I am trying to get this from my previous employer but I don't think they will give it to me. It has been more than 3 years now and the management of the company has changed. No one there is bothered to get this for me now. Although, I am sure that my old organization has filed my return because I did receive my tax refund in 2015.

I have a copy of my old work permit (expired in 2015), but not my tax documents. The best I have are my salary slips which shows the tax and social security deduction. Are they considered valid proofs? I don't even have my Tax Identification ID, which I should have collected from my organization when I left Bangkok (my bad).

Any suggestion, what are my options now? Can I get this document online from some government website?

    Thanks in advance!
