Not sure why people are using 95 fuel in their 500s. Don't they have 91 in Bangkok any more?
-
I saw the info on a site produced by an engineer who does all kinds of stuff with oil, filters, etc. If I remember correctly, the flow is higher than OEM fitlers because their filter material is too porus and doesn't filter the smaller stuff as well as OEM filters.
I've nothing against K&N (I use their air filters on one of my bikes), but just saying that I wouldn't use their oil filters based on an engineer's advice as well as fellow riders' experiences and thoughts.

K&N oil filters are nowhere near as good as OEM and I wouldn't let them near any of my vehicles.

The bikes were actually developed for Europe and it's new licencing laws. Thailand sales or Kawasaki aren't a factor in the design of the bike.
That's correct, it might have little influence from Thai market or Kawasaki in thailand.
for example, in Japan the exact same 3 bikes are with a reduced engine of 399cc: the CB400R/F/X.
Thai market is very small in the 500cc up, also because Thai highways are not allowed bikes. according to police bikes can't even ride on the 3rd fast lane.
These bikes are mostly for export, specially Europe, Australia and America.

Bikes are not allowed on Tollways, not 'highways'.
And considering the CB range isn't made for the Thai market, they're selling shedloads - I don't think Honda expected such a positive respose.

fellow owners of the cbr 500 r! are you feeling some engine vibrations when going above 4 to 5k rpm? thats when i start to feel them. its not that strong but i can indeed feel some more vibrations at those rpms. when driving some long distances my hands and fingers feels a bit numbed (not sure of the spelling). i remembered reading about one owner of this bike talking about like he was sitting on a chain saw! if i could only remember who it was. i think it was posted in this topic so i guess i just spend the day long to search for it.
Have you checked your oil level?
Engine oil? I havent opened and looked down in the small whole where you fill the oil if thats what you mean. Bike is brand new but I have put over 1000k on the clock already so going to honda big wing for the first service tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else had these engine vibrations.

Have you bothered to open the service manual?
And yes, check the oil. The idiot mechanic who prepped my bike hadn't. Not used to working on bikes with oil filters I guess.
Man are you saying you bought a cbr500 and it was low on engine oil from the start? Pls tell me exactly how do you check the oil level without going to the mechanics as I wanna know for sure about this before my first service at honda. Thx for reply

Yes, when I bought my CB500F the oil level was at the minimum level according to the sight glass which is on the right side of your engine. This says to me, the idiot masquerading as a mechanic didn't run the engine after the initial oil fill, whether it was at the factory or the dealer, I don't know, but I assume it was at the factory and the dealer didn't check it properly before releasing the bike.

The sale is few because of it is expensive sport touring and the design that is so close to CBR 150, CBR 250
Err, the best not buy a Ninja as Kawa make a 250 that looks the same.
The VFR is a fantastic bike. One of the most refined bikes ever made. For sure there are a couple of major flaws, but I think that's Honda keeping a tradition going with their V4 bikes.

You know they have a shot here .......But I doubt demand. Unless they made something to reallya 650 twin honda with 70-odd HP would be nice - just googled it and can't find owt!
tempt others away
Make it a non-square V & give it a real frame with real tunable suspension front & rear.
Or even have one with a proper 4 cyl engine, like this one...

When you think about it its s great marketing from honda same as apple do bring new productbout every year ensuring many customers will upgrade to the new model for honda it obviously started with the cbr 250, then this year cbr 500 & next year cbr 650.for people living here its a bit
xxxxthat honda is playing catch up to kawasaki and we still have to wait another 8-12 months just for honda to release something to match kawasaki offerings over here which have been avilable for what 3 years. Sent from my GT-P7500 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile appI suppose Honda invented the A2 license class in Europe in order to complete their fiendish plans?

It's true. It happened. Jing jing!

Bloody hell, it made my ex Harley look like something from the 60's, he-he.
1930s actually.

In all fairness, i am all for good, safe, reliable helmet that can and does save your life, but wearing any one of those pictured while riding a 115cc or 150cc scooter not only looks ridiculous but also so so so hot, then when you park somewhere need to carry it with you, because it usually gets stolen.
MY 350 baht index half face helmets get stolen when i buy new if i do not take it with me.
Real do open face helmets too. So you can have a nice helmet for the beer run, rather than those Index death traps.
-
My wife and I have been using Real helmets for about 4 years. They're very well made, affordable and look great. They are not the same as the crap Index pass off as helmets. MY only critisism, is that the full face helmet I bought was a tad short (front to back) because I have a rather fine nose. My wife will be ordering a modular helmet from them soon, as her full-face jobbie is a bit old now and the eejit keeps on dropping it.

I wanted the X, but the seat forced me to sit too far forward (188cm tall). The F fitted much better.
-
I don't give a sh1t as I wasn't going to buy one anyway. You would be a bit soft in the head buying a 500 when for a bit more you can have a Er6n.
But Kawasaki aren't Honda, hence I didn't buy one.

Probably heard it coming from Chalong circle
They do rattle like hel_l, don't they?
-
What is the difference?
People feel proud when sitting on their CBR.
They don't on their wave.
Why would anyone be proud of a little scooter?
Anyway, the Wave is the perfect town bike, unless you're an idiot and think it's cool to hang shopping bags from your handlebars.

Has anyone seen Auto-Rx for sale in Thailand (Udon, more specifically)? It's this stuff www.auto-rx.com

I know this will sound cliche
but remember, the forum without its members is basically just some computer codes
Even the suspended ones?

If you like to me treated like a 12yo school kid, TV is the tops.

My boss at the UN just used these guys. The address says Bangkok, but I know the boss is based in Udon thani. Did a great job for us and is cheaper than many 'local' designers.
