    Are you sure about this?

I remember reading that it may be possible to ADD another name to the chanote for a small fee (under the table???) in certain Land Registry Offices. I would love to find out if anybody has done this or heard first hand that this has been achieved. Both parties would then hold the title as joint owners and both own 100 pc of the property.

Interesting if it would be possible to add my name on some properties that I had to buy with the help of a Thai name as the condo was not in the 49% foreign ownership...

And yet there are many millions of unsterilised mutts still on the streets.

Obviously this project is not working and in reality is just a waste of time and money.

The solution could be rather simple.

1/. Round up and detain the idiots who keep feeding these vermin.

2/. Round up and detain the dogs, then let them go hungry for a week.

3/. One at a time put each of the do-gooder idiots in a cage (the type used for cage fighting) along with six of the stray mutts and let them fight to the death.

4/. Once the victor has reached the euphoric state of believing they are spared, drag them outside and execute them with a 12 gauge.

While I must admit that this may not be the most humane way to deal with the matter, it would certainly produce the desired results.

What about putting YOU in the cage for being such an moron ?

The good thing about living in the area  is 24 hr Foodland.  Last night after midnight I felt for a cream cheese sandwich and my Danish favorite Emborg. 10 minutes easy walk around 1 am in the morning.  I spotted 10 other shoppers and around 12-15 customers inside the restaurant.

So business around the clock .

And the clean restaurant there !

Yes, really, Klong Prem regularly conducts drug tests.

No, the guards do not beat prisoners for no reason, guards at Klon Prem were all very friendly and chatty as long as the rules are obeyed.  Trying to smuggle cigarettes into the cells at lockup can be very uncomfortable for those caught, though, that's why it's a rare event.  It is also difficult to succeed at as every prisoner is thoroughly patted down wearing only shorts by the guards at lockup.

Wow, its so crazy. So it's totally wrong to think that having a lot of money can help someone to live a better life in jail ?

Well, on the other hand it is piss easy to get a visa here, you can literally just buy it. Its one of the easiest countries to stay in legally at all - so we shouldn't abuse this.

They only crack down because a bunch of idiots have to abuse everything.

Do you know how ridicilous hard it is for a Thai to get a VISA to europe, usa, australia etc....

It's hilarious to complain about Thailand enforcing some laws while our homecountries don't let the average Thai person in at all.

Do you know how much I don't care how difficult it is for Thai to get a visa abroad ?

If they have balls they can just be illegal as people are illegal in Thailand.

Anyway it's not the question, the only real problems is scumbags happy that shit happens to other people. I have more money than enough to be sure that nothing will happen to me here or anywhere in the world, but still, I do not party when I see people in not so easy situations being caught. Yes, I am not a grumpy old idiot expat and will never be.

Exactly the pharmacies are acting as doctors

But they sometimes know more than doctors: many people go again to pharma when still sick after taking pills. How many would pay again an hospital visit ?! I know some drugstore owners who certainly know more about real life treatments than idiot doctors in international hospitals.

For once you're right, I didn't see and drugs neither did I see any mobile phones because there weren't any in the part of Klong Prem that I was in neither were there any in other parts where other prisoners I knew were accommodated.  That was partly due to frequent, unannounced searches of lockers, the only places prisoners could keep any possessions.  Cells in Klong Prem are not provided with electrical outlets to charge phones, either.

The frequent urine tests also discouraged drug taking and I never saw any prisoner fail a urine test.

Really ? they even test people for drug regularly ? Finally prisons in Europe might be more comfortable even if 80% of the people there are muslim !

At least in EU they all have drug and mobiles !

And what about beatings ? Do they happen to people who do not do anything wrong ?

You discouraged me from being jailed in Thailand ! ????

This doctor shouldn't even be cited as an "expert" on marijuana.  His views are simply outdated.  Wish I could ask him if cigarettes and alcohol should be outlawed.  Of course doctors should discourage pot smoking, cigarette smoking, and even alcohol.  But draconian laws are just impractical and nonsensical and violates our most basic freedom of choice.  It just seems like Asia in general is pretty backwards when it comes to marijuana.  Heck, look what S. Korea is doing about Canada's new marijuana law...

[“Weed smokers will be punished according to the Korean law, even if they did so in countries where smoking marijuana is legal. There won’t be an exception...."  South Korean law is based on the concept that laws made in Seoul still apply to citizens anywhere in the world, and violations, even while abroad, can technically lead to punishment when they return home. Those who smoke weed could face up to five years in prison. ]

Same with the retarded Singapoop government.

I guess that excludes staying at any reputable hotel then. Any business accommodating guests is required to online register guests with immigration with one of the required information being the Passport number.

I would assume smaller guesthouses in the countryside might close both eyes but doubt that any better hotel in a tourist centre would accept this?

Wrong, so many hotels accept this. The only cheap chain that requires passport is Hopinn, all other hotels around 1000 thb do not care. I haven't showed my passport to any hotel since years, and when going to higher range hotels Thai check inn for me and my passport is never asked.

You would be suprised how many BBK people shop in Pattaya on weekends. Having 3-4 big shopping malls so close to each other, all within a 10-15 minute drive of each other is something that is not possible in most areas of Bangkok which makes Pattaya appealing for some.

This is clearly the truth that so many narrow minded grumpy expats will never be able to understand. How funny it is that they think that their low so life is all Thai people life...

I have stayed in umpteen number of road side co called resorts in Issan but never my passport was scanned or I was registered. I was always with my GF though. One time my passport was stolen and I even reported to police to get a police report for a new passport. Police never questioned me for TM30 or other such nonsense. Of course, that was may be 2011/12.

I do not stay at any hotel asking for my passport, if they do not want my driving license they can go to hell, I will stay somewhere else.
