Let's have a military coup then?!
-
No I don't; but if I find my car hurtling towards a disaster, I hope I would try my damned best to avoid it .... and all those Scots you mention were from our United Kingdom?!
-
Aye, but it's pretty obvious you ain't gonna get all those people hailing your desired outcome! It's like an aircraft captain flying to his clear destination, for which he sensibly has an alternative landing always planned; along the way, destination weather looks very unsettled, stormy, perhaps at very limits of his and/or aircraft's limits; he makes an assessment, choosing not to risk attempting the landing, and therefore decides to return to base, or fly to the safer alternate for the sake of ALL on board!

My fervent hope is that the UK and all UK citizens will enjoy and prosper being free of the eu " shackles "
Hardly think so, as Scotland voted 62/38 to remain in the EU!

And when given the chance to oust her and go forward with their easily passable plan, the ERG Brexiteers lost their bottle and protected their livelihoods instead!!

That's probably because there was no Brexit leader who came forward with a plausible plan which would have been acceptable to their parliamentary colleagues!

Do us a favour, and have a DNA test - you are probably more of Scandinavian, mainland and Mediterranean descent than you would hope to believe .... if you are lucky there may be some Celt in you! Indigenous peoples ......

If there were to be a 2nd Referendum the questions should be:
A Leave the EU with Mays Deal
B Leave the EU under World trade rules.
If so, how do you propose to remain committed to the GFA, maintain a border, probably be forced to agree tarrif-free trade WTO, thus losing any competetive advantage with other countries on leaving the EU, and the disadvantage to our agri-food and farming sector competing in the EU CAP subsidised sector?

Nice one, but no-one has booked anything as yet …… only talked about it. May have attempted to pay several times but they seem to have the wrong PIN number! And the great thing about intelligence is that you can change your mind!

After almost 3 years it is patently obvious that the country is too split to continue; the elected representatives are unable to agree a way forward; logical conclusion is stop, re-assess and make a new plan. It's like having allowed the kids a choice on which theme park to attend, but they then squabble and bicker over the choice. Go to your rooms and come back down when you can have a civilised conversation. Revoke Article 50 ….. have any number of referendums, general elections, indicative votes but come up with a plan first, then act like adults and negotiate an agreement both internally and externally.
Europe has us by the short and curlies; our fault for sure. Be bold - suggest a referendum in NI on unifying the island of Ireland to solve that impasse (it's gonna happen at some stage) - reward for that, if we are to leave EU, would be that Great Britain remains in common market, free trade agreement with most red lines intact. Sorry Scotland, geographically logical.
But what we really lack is a vision to which people can aspire and for which they can be valued, a vision that accepts our diminished role in the world but continues to harvest our pragmatism and inventiveness - a truly secular state, revamped legislature, removal of House of Lords cronyism, a constitution for all, and most importantly a fairer distribution of land and wealth. The market should not be king. Basic health, transport, housing and education should receive far greater investment as the building blocks of society - paid for through fairer and increased taxation. Decentralisation of London, cancel HS2, cancel 3rd runway in favour of 2nd at Manchester or Birmingham, ditch the nuclear, invest more in renewables, listen to and respect Scotland and Wales …...
I'll go back to dreaming …….

The plus sign '+' character is designed to indicate that the international dialling number must be inserted, followed by country number and then the individual telephone number less the first '0'. On a smart phone, using the '+' will obviate the need to insert those pesky little numbers yourself (as different countries / operators may do different numbers than the standard '00'), as you travel the world. Glad to have got that off my chest.

There were no written rules for departing the EU; we're all making it up as we go along! Fair enough, the 27 demand the 4 principles - but that imposes the hard border if there's no deal.
To treat UK as some sort of villain here seems harsh, they are unlikely to abandon all standards adopted over the last 40 years. You may of course wish to deter others from leaving, but it hardly opens the door for UK to want to change its mind later, which is what a club would normally suggest, so as to keep its coffers full.
The quote of the bar bill analogy - usual club custom is to insist members pay for drinks consumed, not those in the barrel or in the delivery van.
So to break the impasse, perhaps the logical geographical (sorry Scotland) Irish unification, with the EU funding the resettlement in GB of all those wishing to leave (DUP and the like). Then back to island mentality, each with internationally accepted coastal fishery protections. WTO tarrifs unless a better deal can be negotiated, to save dragging all this out for another 2 years .....
And before you demand recognition of all those lives lost in the past, remember those from years gone by - recent Boer wars, Middle East wars - always in the end you must move on, not hark to the past - sure learn from the past, but move on.

Don't forget it depends on how much data you want to store, then you need to decide how - cloud (annual subs) or hard disk (relatively cheap now in comparison to ssd) or keep as your usb backup. Acer do mixed ssd and 1Tb hdd ..... £320 in UK .... £ dropping further!!

Think you all missed the goal of Baldrick's cunning plan ..... by the time we re-apply to join we'll be slimmer, and even meaner, gdp and gbp will plummet and so we will eventually become a net gainer rather a net contributor even taking into account the loss of all the present rebates which Mr Barnier would insist upon us losing! Win-win?

I have a UK (main) and US transferwise accounts for holding / transfering gbp or usd ..... anything sent to the US account needs to titled "TransferWise FBO (my account name)" or it will be lost if solely my account name? That advice came on android app I use.

And a simple wiki search shows they have had a team since 1927!! Maybe Goebbels had no balls at all, but I am sure their team will be able to sing a few ditties about UK's balls-up of Brexit .... expect incoming!

I wonder what the 'Prince Harry.' thing is useful for - apart from as a distraction. As for leaving history lessons to others, I haven't always felt this way but those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I can't remember who said that but it seems sensible.
Just that as a leader I would expect him to know the significance and hurt it might cause, whereas I would not expect that of such a teenager
-
Kerikey, we are so full of ourselves pontificating behind keyboards. This was a silly mistake by a teenager unaware of the significance, not as bad perhaps as Prince Harry who wore the symbol and who, as a member of the establishment and later an officer in the Army, should have known better.
Teach kids to respect one another, live harmoniously .... leave the history learning to those who want to be politicians and leaders .... it is they who motivate peoples into committing such crimes associated with symbols.

How Christian it might be to divert a large proportion of the near €1bn raised to repair a tourist attraction, and divert it to help those devasted lives of this atrocity? Macron said he would be happy to afford the restoration.
